The NI Traktor X1 MK2 Thread
Posted on: 12.06.2013 by Jack Narva
With news of the new NI Z1 I was looking at online retailers and came across this at one of them

http://www.pssl.com/Computer-DJ/Nati...-DJ-Controller

Looks good.

I have not seen it announced anywhere so it looks like someone jumped the gun.

If you look at the history of NI and the predictions of this community ....usually the obvious product predictions on this community are released by NI.

That being said, most ppl on here believe that NI will release a modular platter (although many would debate on the form/function).

So my money is on NI releasing a platter controller sooner than later.

Let me clarify. I also use layers - On my X1, hotcues, and F1, deck controls (midi side).

If Ross was referring to the lack of silk screened labels and why there aren't any "extra" markings on the alleged mockup/prototype/release model, it's because: 1) you're gonna change it anyway 2) you're not going to use it.

This way they can avoid having to send out face-plates.

It's a good sign that this thread has gone off the boil. Perhaps people are actually using the gear that they've got rather than lusting after the later bit of kit..,

Saying that, I still don't have a mixer at the moment...

I could be wrong though. Personally I would guess at a S2 or S4 Mk2 update or maybe a Z4...or maybe a totally different modular controller for use with iPad...who knows.
Z4 would be pretty great. I would probably get rid of my S4 get a Z4 and a Z1 for small gigs.

Yes, because NI really need some free hype and advertising, they were really struggling to get their previous products known!

I know what you mean, but I see NI a bit like Apple, they will not be happy that the product was leaked.

oh i bet NI has gone completely insane on them, probably suiting up their lawyers and everything. i bet there was a couple contracts violated with this leak and pssl putting it up. i agree with you 100%, if you looked at that product write up and product write ups on the NI website, they had identical formats, thus leading to the conclusion that it is real

because its a leaked picture, probably not the final product, it is however posted on a legit website, so the item itself is legit, just the picture might not be the "final product", if that makes any sense.

Looks nice...not sure if I'd trade my X1 Mk1 for it though. I do share the sentiment about the missing tempo and beatjump buttons. Touchstrip for nudging on the other hand sounds awesome as well (nudging with pitch bend buttons sucks big time!!).

It's still not clear whether the Z1/X1mk2 will work via a hub + the CCK. Unless this has been ruled out already..?

Given that the S4 can run off bus power it seems very unlikely that the new controllers will require a power supply for computer use.
