The NI Traktor X1 MK2 Thread
The NI Traktor X1 MK2 Thread Posted on: 12.06.2013 by Jack Narva With news of the new NI Z1 I was looking at online retailers and came across this at one of themhttp://www.pssl.com/Computer-DJ/Nati...-DJ-Controller Looks good. I have not seen it announced anywhere so it looks like someone jumped the gun. | |

Oretha Afful 05.08.2013 | just picked one up on Friday but haven't had a chance to use it yet. Should have time to install and mess around with it toevening . |
Larita Smaga 05.08.2013 | Not sure why the thumbnail on here is of the section where I compare against the original X1... I assure you, the video is about the mk2... I'm not a total wally! |
Larita Smaga 05.08.2013 | I got hold of one this weekend and did a walkthrough/demo video, I'm sure it's not 100% comprehensive but I covered as much as I could: |
Elias Knapp 04.08.2013 | I'm itching for more info on this controller, perhaps everyone is enjoying it too much to comment? |
Kathyrn Sandbeck 28.07.2013 | Hey Karlos, Do you know if it's possible to switch strip modes on the fly without going into preferences? The video seems to show it's possible, but as of now the X1 manual download links to the old X1, meaning I can't read the manual to see how the mapping works. |
nayit ruiz jaramillo 28.07.2013 | LOL my CMD Micro is in permanent use now every thursday as a Virtual DJ controller. I love this little setup. Using it at a bar gig and a gig in an attic (in a club) every week. Super sleek setup and my shins don't take a bashing from the S4 flight case (well, only on Fridays and Saturdays now). |
Kellie Myrum 28.07.2013 | That looks super cool Karlos! I guess your CMD fells jealous over this setup |
nayit ruiz jaramillo 28.07.2013 | Some stores have started selling before the release date. I guess 4 days early is understandable as its the weekend and foot fall in stores will be massive. Some stores always jump the release date. Pimped mine out last week with Chroma Caps. |
Lou Geopfert 26.07.2013 | Got it at GC? I just purchased my first x1 less than a month ago and was waiting until august 1st to return it to get the mk2. I've called my local GC before and they said to just watch the website to see when/if the mk2 would be available but even today there is not even a spot to preorder the mk2 on their website...this makes me very excited! Even if someone messed up, I'm stoked over the possibility of getting the mk2 in store soon! |

Fannie Ohayre 26.07.2013 | Have you had the chance to play with it yet? |
Nevada Edgette 26.07.2013 | Picked this up at guitar center today!!!ImageUploadedByTapatalk1374879326.525516.jpg |
Lannie Kutay 19.07.2013 | I'm believeing you can't use the touchstrips to nudge or bend the track, if your using time timecode. I would love to use either one |
nayit ruiz jaramillo 19.07.2013 | Hmm, not really with the current layout in my opinion although I must say i havent given it much of a go. I have actually remapped the bottom FX knob (I don't need 3 FX) to be the pitch fader. Works really well and its a one hander and its instantly there for little tweaks rather than pressing SYNC+ENCODER. I can then pitch bend with the touch strip really easily. Doing it like that, then its definitely possible but you lose an FX knob. Although Im sure I could keep the FX knob and use a modifier for pitch bending but I'm happy with the way it is. Also I dont have the BPM in the display using my remap but if Im beatmatching Im listening not looking. |
Hipolito Scionti 19.07.2013 | How is manual beatmatching on these then? With the combo of encoders and touchstrip? Easy enough? |

Jonathan Chiuchiolo 19.07.2013 | cool, I want one now, I made a mapping for the ddj-t1 a while back that did some stupid things with the touch strips, I'd love to have something that has better touch strips than that. I was considering a novation twitch but this is probably easier to add to my setup, I'll have to wait for another VDJ user who specializes in mapping NHL to VDJ before I believe of getting one though. |

Jonathan Chiuchiolo 19.07.2013 | does it send a relative CC message in one mode for pitch bending, and an absolute message CC for effects, meaning if you hit at 80% of the pad you will change the effect slider to 80% ? or do effects remain relative, meaning you swipe to change the value ? |

Ulysses Vittetoe 18.07.2013 | So does the touch strip pitch bend or not? The DJTT article doesn't make this clear. |

Yuonne Losure 18.07.2013 | So normally manual beat matching requires two functions - pitch adjust to change speed, and pitch bend to keep them in phase. How much work is it to do this quickly on the X1 Mk2? How hard/easy is it with the encoder to make precise small increments, and conversely can you also make big changes easily, or is it one or the other? |
