What's new!
If you are new to my FX Jogs mappings, you can go back through the old threads starting with this one and have a nice read. You can get an idea what you are getting into. If you want to start at the beginning, have at it. Please note: There are two different mappings in the download below. One is the "Builder" and only has one FX mode just as an example FX grouping, so those who are interested in mapping their own effects can have a go at the other 13 modes. The second version is the "FULL" version and is the one I'll continue to add effect groupings as I get suggestions from other users or come up with my own ideas. The FULL version 5.0 beta only has 6 effect modes at the moment. You can read up on them and a bit on what they can do in the documentation in the download. This first version is a BETA and is not ready for live performances. I have added some documentation in the download, but the section for mapping new effect groupings is missing and will be added for the gold version. I hope to have the gold running in a couple of weeks and I hope to spawn some creative juices for those effects wizards for some ideas on new and cool effects groupings. This mapping opens a whole new realm of FX jogs. Copyright and Usage Anyone can use this mapping free of charge for their own personal or professional use. And yes, the sample fires correct, when I switch of Quant OR Keylock OR when I stop the Remix Deck. It only happens with retrigger nd Quant & Keylock ON. I'm looking forward to NIs answer. But you shoudl go on working on the new Version ;-) |
| Rey Holubar 02.07.2012 | Well, with a quant of 1 and quantize on, there might seem to be a lag issue, if you don't time the start of the sample quite right or if your latency is poor. Try it by turning quantize off and see how well the sample fires. I know our i3 Windows system was a dog compared to our new MBP in this area too. I even had issues with the sample starting with a pop in some instances. The Mix Decks are definitely hungry for CPU power. What computer specs do you have? Going to be interesting to hear what NI believes of the issue. scamo |

| Fannie Portilla 01.07.2012 | I've just noticed a slight Bug with the Remix Decks when you use One Shots with Keylock and Quant. I made a Video which i've sent to the NI Support. I hope they'll fix that. For now, the One shots have a litte starting Offset, when you use Keylock, Quant and the retrigger command. |
| Rey Holubar 01.07.2012 | Cool. For sure, we'll come by, if we go there. And what a difference the MBP makes. Holly cow. The control of the Mix Decks with the F1 is much better, because there are no small pops anymore and since the latency is much better, it is just a much, much tighter feel. Even the sound of the S4 is crisper and more "real" with Traktor and the MBP. The MBP seems to be definitely worth the purchase. The next step is taken to become a performing DJ. scamo |

We've been blessed with an MBP (15" i7 Quadcore, 8 MB RAM, 500MB HD) in our family and I'll be playing with our new baby with any free time I have this weekend. So, no work on any mappings still. Sorry. But I hope the new baby will increase our joy in working with Traktor and help speed up our mapping and mixing endeavors. I really believe it will. The old i3 Window system was a pain and I am glad it is now replaced, finally. scamo |

| Rey Holubar 27.06.2012 | There is a setting you need to turn on, so samples are saved, when you capture them. I believe, if that isn't on, then the samples are lost, once you remove them from the slots, even if you had saved the Mix Deck set (which is stupid functionality). The setting is under "File Management->Save created loops and samples automatically" Click that on and you should be good to go. scamo |
| Tamra Millus 26.06.2012 | I know this is not the right thread. But have a little quick question about my F1. How are you doing to make a "capture" and then manage to save the set? When I do "capture" and press a pad and then save, open the saved set again the loop is not there. I have watch the "all samples" and there is no loop there. |

| Rey Holubar 20.06.2012 | I'm here.... Please excuse me. I've been selfish and have been playing with my new toys (Traktor 2.5, F1 and MF3d) during any free time I've had the past two, three weeks. Unfortunately, the MF3d isn't working properly and I've been trying to figure out why. Traktor 2.5 is also flaky. It has crashed on me a couple of times now. (Once while working on the mappings). At any rate. I have some more vacation coming mid-July. I know that doesn't sound fantastic, but it seems I need more spare time to concentrate on the maps. I'd say, by the end of July, I'll have the mappings finished. That isn't a promise, just my plan. scamo |

| Rey Holubar 04.06.2012 | Hey everyone. Another update. I'm sorry to say, 2.5 has actually set me back a notch, but it is sort of my fault too. I was probably trying too much and 2.5 crashed and I lost all my changes. I was trying to finalize the Builder mapping with a new incremental effect mode 1. Also 2.5 has new mapping names and I had to "get used to them" too. The effect commands are totally different as their are no more single or group modes to select from. Instead, the effect commands are all put together in one selection. So, I guess it was one step back to get possibly two steps forward. This coming weekend I have a 4 day weekend and hopefully won't have too much other work to do, so I can concentrate on the mappings some more. Sorry guys and gals that I am not faster with all this. I really wish I could be and thank you all for your patience and support. Edit-/ Oh, I was also trying out how to make a video and I now have a video software and I found out my iPhone 4 is actually quite good at taking videos. I am afraid though, my computer is a bit too weak to play Traktor and run the screen capture too. I'm going to have to play with that some more. I also have to learn the video software. This is the first time I've ever run into a problem It's two days before a big show, and I decided to upgrade to 5.0 from 4.4 even though you warned against using it live. I figured I could just revert if I didn't like it. Upon loading the new mapping everything is great except the sensitivity of my jog wheels when scratching (not in Fx mode) has been greatly increased. I need to have my old sensitivity back for scratch parts during my set. I've looked through all the settings in TP2 as well as your modifications in your mapping with no avail. I even reverted back to the 4.4 mapping and the jog wheel sensitivity is still much higher than before. I don't know if I'm missing something obvious, but your mapping has irreversibly changed something in Traktor Pro 2 for me. Please help me out. Krypt7n edit- I have messed with the tempo bend sensitivity and it seems to have no effect. All other community posts say there is a 'scratch' sensitivity edit in the mapping somewhere but I can't find it in either of your mappings (4.4 or 5.0). Just to be clear I had everything set-up and working with 4.4 and Traktor 2.5. Something changed and even restoring back to my saved preferences with 4.4 won't fix anything. |
| Britt Roback 30.05.2012 | How did you completely uninstall and reinstall? Do you lose your cue points and load markers etc. step by step guide pretty please. Just learnt how to do hopefully I won't lose anything and scamos map will now work. Kind of works with fresh install. Need to grab the jog wheel again for effects to work but it's ok as still usable. I love the fact you can load a track by hitting the jog anyway. I have my f1 now too, well have had since Monday woop woop. Linked up to my s4 and launchpad = digital orgasm |
| Delena Katherman 30.05.2012 | I just did a complete re-install of Traktor, and everything is back to normal. Why is it that this particular piece of software seems to require so many fresh installs when things go wrong? It seems to be the best solution to a lot of Traktor issues. Shouldn't the upgrade work better? Anyway, at least it's working again. Can't wait for the new mapping (when you have time to finish, of course)! |
