Wow this looks promissing

http://www.allen-heath.com/uk/Produc...neK2&SubCatId=

So if you link two together with the ethernet cable through USB, will it 'merge' the soundcard so you have a 4 channel soundcard?

If it does then you could bring two to a gig, hook them together with ethernet and not need another audio interface and have a 4 channel soundcard. It kind of sucks they put one 1/8" on the front instead of having both outputs in the back. It makes it a little awkward if you wanted to run both outputs to separate channels on the mixer, now you have to run a cable to the front. Also remember you have the option to run each channel in traktor mono so you could use one of them as a 4 channel soundcard with a few adapters (like you would with an audio 2 or 4). Plus a lot of systems are mono anyway.

I really like the idea of having one or two of these with a DB2 or DB4 for a home setup then just take them to your gig with a laptop and you have an audio interface to use already in your controller with the house mixer.

I love the X1s but I might have to give them up for these, i would love to get my hands on one.

any chance of getting to see your custom scripts? i've only ever tinkered in python, never written anything serious, but am quite interested in python with live. shame tho that it seems u need max4live to do a bunch of things that u can't do just in live with or without python.

i don't believe it will, it just saved on u having to plug a usb cable into it. they'll still show up afaik as two different midi controllers on your laptop. maybe it just routes the data to a different midi channel - or if not maybe it 'could' in future? probably easier to just present as diff midi devices tho.

Ah cool, yeah the red-box is certainly handy but not a deal breaker so long as the grid is scrollable and the feedback corresponds to the playing/stopped/recording clips.

ah ok. cheers for the info. i knew that scripting is supported in live5 but they didn't provide a main python file to include - so it's not so easy. live6 was better for scripting afaik.

u will ofc be able to map something to scroll - but that red box thing must be good for visual feedback. i remember seeing a youtube video of someone mapping an icon istage to ableton and getting it all fully mapped even tho it's not a supported controller - but i don't know if they managed to get the red box.

probably need to be a supported controller to get the red box thing - tho that only needs a bit of python scripting afaik. i'm using live5 which i don't believe has that functionality at all

Wondering the same thing - is there any kind of "red box" control and scrolling that can be done like on the APC ?

Hey, cool you saw the video before this post
The map in the link is just for the VU meter, but I'm working on a more complete map... Need to do a video on it as well, otherwise it's hard to explain all the different controls that are mapped ;D
Anything in particular you would like the map to include, let me know! [email protected]

Hey, actually saw this video yesterday! Love the vu meter mapping! Quite impressive!. Is the mapping only for the leds, or does it include other functions?

Do you have any control over the parameters in that mapping or just on/off for effects?

Cool...I'm glad. I hope it works for you.

The K2, the X1 give my a very nice low profile setup...I also have a Novation launchpad that I have mapped for my setup and includes a Launchpad version of the MidiFighter Instant Gratification map...those 3 together are pretty much all I need...I just need a spare channel on a mixer and I'm good to go.

here are some new tsi's for the K2:

AB + 2 FX for 1 K2
http://mixarchitekt.com/teknik/mix_a...one_k2_tsi.zip

CABD + 4 FX for 2 K2's
http://mixarchitekt.com/teknik/mix_a..._k2_x2_tsi.zip

the 2 deck version is intended for users wanting to only run 2 decks and keep things super simple. the 4 deck version requires that 2 K2's be used otherwise the conventions used in the layout and led's would not work for a latching version. besides, having to switch layers all the time is no fun and only complicates things. that was my feeling from my db4 tsi and it's been much nicer to work with 2 k2's + db4...

"K2s are already on sale in various countries including: USA, Romania, Netherlands, and Singapore amongst others.

Stocks have been arriving with our distributors, so K2 should be available from dealers shortly afterwards in the supply chain.

Please note that in the UK, stock will be arriving later than planned in retail outlets as a result of the theft of the first large shipment to our UK distributor – we are endeavouring to replace the stock as quickly as possible.

We appreciate all the messages from customers who are really excited about purchasing Xone:K2, and appreciate you waiting for stocks to arrive in various countries to meet the current demand for the product."

Find it in the mapping window and change the value. Have to do it for each deck. Good luck finding it... Stupid mapping window.
