Xone: K2 Thread Posted on: 30.09.2011 by Romelia Stankard Wow this looks promissinghttp://www.allen-heath.com/uk/Produc...neK2&SubCatId= So if you link two together with the ethernet cable through USB, will it 'merge' the soundcard so you have a 4 channel soundcard? If it does then you could bring two to a gig, hook them together with ethernet and not need another audio interface and have a 4 channel soundcard. It kind of sucks they put one 1/8" on the front instead of having both outputs in the back. It makes it a little awkward if you wanted to run both outputs to separate channels on the mixer, now you have to run a cable to the front. Also remember you have the option to run each channel in traktor mono so you could use one of them as a 4 channel soundcard with a few adapters (like you would with an audio 2 or 4). Plus a lot of systems are mono anyway. I really like the idea of having one or two of these with a DB2 or DB4 for a home setup then just take them to your gig with a laptop and you have an audio interface to use already in your controller with the house mixer. I love the X1s but I might have to give them up for these, i would love to get my hands on one. | |

| Kasandra Kreindler 02.04.2013 | Hey guys, just got one of these bad boys after a long while of wanting to pick one up to see if i wanted to make the switch from my Kontrol X1, first impression i really like it, got a couple mappings that work for what i want it to do loaded them up and mixed for 30 min still liking it, but when i got around to trying to update the firmware to 2.0 (i believe its on 1.0 atm) it wont update, even tried doing the stairstep update 1.03 still nothing, i know its not rly needed as i dont have two or have a db4 ... yet, but i just want to get it up to date. anyone else have problems with this? i've search long and far on xoneblog, here and djf but nothing seems to be poppin' up with solutions i can try. i am on Mac, any help would be great tl;dr - xone k2 wont update firmware on Mac, any solution? |

I thought aggregating them would be awesome, other then the fact that they're so quiet... I really don't feel like buying an audio 8/10 just because that would be another $300-500 ontop of my setup! |

| Kiyoko Wellisch 14.12.2012 | What mixer are you using? There cannot be many mixers where you can turn the gain up all the way with a K2 plugged in and not be clipping the mixer. Are you sure that you haven't got the volume down in the software? Are you sure you're not clipping? I mean I have records that with my needles are about 1/3 the volume of an audio4 and I still have the gain turned down about 40% from max when I play them on my Nuo 2.0. |

I've had it since june, didn't pay too much attention while playing out with it but at this point I believe I just don't believe the output is sufficient at all, it's caused too many issues, especially when not having access to a master mixer and not doing soundcheck because of showing up at the club mid-event. Having the gains on maximum on the mixer, and increasing the master output usually almost does the trick but not always... the channel levels are still half of vinyl and cdjs volumes I use both outputs (Rca and front jack )and do external mixing, playing mostly house and techno. I'm now considering getting another soundcard (like an NI Audio card for dvs) which really defeats the purpose of having bought this controller. Any opinions/recommendations? ps: this post sounds like a rant and perhaps it is, let me make it clear I find the levels usable but not "good enough". |

I tested the channel I was routing the K2 into on the db4 and it works fine so either both sound cards on the K2's are busted or t's something else . Anyone any ideas to try .
