I want to start a thread where everyone can see all the custom gear that has been created by other djs here at Dj Tech Tools. Post a few photos of your set up and a brief description of what you did.

I been interested in doing the arcade button mod, i found a place in the UK that has them. Also does triangular and square ect buttons same make n profile Ean used i believe, thought that would be nice, triangle for play square for stop/pause.But another thing i saw was arcade tracker balls, which could make an awesome effects control, have no idea how to implement though

Still not finished yet. After Ean let me try out his arcadebuttons I'm believeing of getting some for my VCI-300. Next weekend I'll spraypaint the jogwheels, maybe orange or red, dont know yet.
And I'm still looking for a better crossfader, because it opens a little to late for me.

I use the 2.2 TPro midi mapping by Ean, but have changed some of the controls. Instead of buying another vinyl cover, i took my old plates, painted them black, and labeled the buttons accordingly.

I painted the MDMA molecule on both sides of the X_Fader and made the shift button and functions red as it is easier to see in the dark.

Also, as i use a Korg Nano pad, i have no need for the juggle function, so i changed the Juggle toggle button in the Performance Mode section to control the EQ F/X and set the usual EQ F/X buttons back to controlling Key.

Also, i changed the Monitor volume and balance knobs to control Deck A and B pan, for some crazy sounds in clubs (when different sounds are playing from different speakers, instead of evenly across both)

Tell me what you believe!

Seeing all your work makes me feel shady a bit, but here's what I did:

Just using it with Torq in external mode with timecode vinyls.
Loops, cuepoints, a few samples, instant doubles, delay and reverse, nothing else needed. Letters are from my first mapping when I had no instant doubles.

do you have any links that show the diagrams, or how to do it?

Yes, it's easy. make sure the pad has a pair of analog joysticks. Desolder the joysticks, and for each one, you can put two pots in it's place, making a total of four for the gamepad.

Word to the wise about modding PS2 controllers - if doesn't have a solder point, just leave it alone. If anyone has any advice on this, by all means.

it's pretty cool ,does anybody knows how to hook up potensiometer (Knobs) to gamepad like this one?

You may use the knob for track selection? =)

Just read this thread and thought well, why not post pics of mine as well. It's an original silver vci-100 1.2 fw with these mods: Custom painting (Duh), led-mod, 1.3 fw, black knobs and metal pieces under the cross fader to make it more accurate.

The painting didn't work out perfectly, so I'll have to do it again and better. It was my first time painting any metal stuff and did it kinda in a hurry. But I love the pixel heart, my heart beats for digitalism, controllerism and electro music. :P Arcade button mod would be the next on the list.

So.......WTF! you ask? YEAH BABY! THAT'S RIGHT! DANCE DANCE DANCE DANCE
I saw the mini-dance pads at the goodwill while I was out today looking for some new duds, saw these and had to have them! Can you imagine someone GAVE these away?!?!? Anyways, these particular pads had both Xbox and PS male ends. If you didn't know, Xbox controllers are basically USB. Instead of 4 wires, there are 5 in the Xbox, one is for Video Sync. Simply snip and resolder color-to-color. On these Pads the ground happened to be blue.

Loads of fun already using as a "trigger pad" with my software sampler. You can do little break dances with your fingers, hehehehe. I believe it would be fun to have these out on my table for people in the crowd to play with. See my post on KueIt, I was wondering if I couldn't use with something like that to use to drop the name of the club and stuff with Traktor running.

thanks.
i love it. i run Torq 1.5 with it (slaved into live) and haven't really needed any suport on it..its pretty straight forward. and i got it a for $400 cash out the door because they were using it for display and they lost the power cord..i just wish M-audio had more of an Akai or panasonic look to it.

Hi, I spent almost a month to "drill" the mixer and put all the electronics staff in (and make it work properly) and then one more programming different ideas for the firmware.
