I want to start a thread where everyone can see all the custom gear that has been created by other djs here at Dj Tech Tools. Post a few photos of your set up and a brief description of what you did.

Best modding was to undo the faceplate of my TR-1 to clean it from the spilled red wine.

Is that hot glue on the bottom of the jog wheel assembly? Did you do that or did it come that way?

hi, i finally finished my vci100 arcademod. i did some extramodding with the leds. therefore i built two circuitboards, put some leds on them and mounted them on the two sockets, which are left from the old circuitboard. the old buttons i choped, so they fit in the small space between the arcadebuttons and jogwheelcase. these buttons have no more function. they are just there to cover the leds..

thanks ean for the firmware-update, the nice overlay and the brilliant mapping! thanks for inspiration! : )

Here's my VCI

I don't use the DJTT mapping as I don't use the fader fx etc so its custom mapped using the unofficial 1.33.FW with a DJTT silver overlay and a dyno for labels - btw it was a black vci

that pretty cool, im guessing you gutted a nanopad with some malfunctioning pads? how easy was this to do? i have a couple broken nanopads lying around and was believein about tearin em up similarly to what you have done. was this done with one or two nanos?

i have one, its pretty basic but It's not on this computer I have now. I have the first row of knobs to control FX bank 3. The second row to control FX bank 4. Turning the first knob turns on the effect and switches the bank to chained mode. I use banks 3 and 4 only in chained mode from the lpd8.

The pads are mapped for hotcues 1- 4 for decks A and B elliminating the need for "juggle mode". If I hit the CC button it switches all my controls to decks C and D (effects and hot cues). Thats the only layers I use while DJ'ing, I dont like switching between presets very much. I find it compliments the VCI 100 SE very well tho.

Cheers man,

You got a good mapping for the LPD8 that compliments the SE Mapping?

I saw one on the community s but it seemed odd when i imported it

Hi guy's

I believeing of making a diy midi controller us my nano kontrol hardware. want to use arcade buttons. The question is where do I get Midi faders? are they just standard motorized faders? and would the pcb board handle larger faders current?

I'm a bit of a noob about this stuff.

cheers

Filing of the lower cover's lip was done in the toilet, some on the toilet bowl and sink but mostly on the floor. Gaffing tape to cover up the original button's slots were done on the bed. Soldering and reassembly were done sitting in front of my computer listening to old Dave Chappelle talkshows.

Top's a bright 2k yellow. Bottom and jogwheels' plates are a metallic blue. Painting wasn't done very well unfortunately. That's what happens when you send things to people who don't have a proper painting booth with an air filtration system. Anyway, I was all eager to bling it up so I didn't bother. Had to be really careful during the reassembly since the 2k paint was only a few hours old and I'd already screwed it up once when I peeled off the gaffing tape after cutting a bit too much and ate outside one of the arcade button's hole. Had to send it back for repainting.

Might get someone in the signage business to do me a custom overlay one day after I've finished mapping everything to my preferences and requirements. Went looking for thin acrylic pieces as a faceplate for the arcade buttons but the enthusiasm sure died pretty quickly since I don't have a car right now and was searching on foot.

ps. What you see in the left of the bottom cover's a reflection of my snakes' tank. The whole thing's blue with 9 little transparent rubber feet.
what kind of buttons are those im diggin the colors...

so here's a couple of pictures of my DIY laptopstand.

I made this from an old chair (I actually sat on one of these in elementary school ) and the housing of a broken DVD-Player.
plus a couple of scews etc.

Thanks! it was a kinda pain to do... well nicely. I was quite shocked at then end, i figured it would be horribly tacky or kinda interesting. The only thing I'm noticing now is that one wheel is very sluggish compared to the other. I re greased them with probably the wrong thing (i used bicycle bearing/chain grease pretty similar to machinist lube) But i believe i might have slightly bent the cotter pin (believe that's what its called) the flat key piece that holds the rod the jog wheel rests on in place. I'll have to wait for tomorrow to check too many screws.

So i got kinda board of looking at the cheap fake carbon fiber on the typhoon and decided to give it a face lift today. Only the finest fake wood contact on the body and jog wheels. I was kinda surprised it actually goes quite well with the red knobs and trim almost has a slight domo feel.

It is fluorescent paint, so will glow under black light. I am really happy with it. I am adding labels toevening with a Dymo gun. Punk-Dub mashup.
