I hope its not gone. I had a few mods on there I'd like people to see. and don't wana repost em all on here. Even tho this is a good site I miss dj community s. There are so many sub community s. and a good dnb section. I also miss the banter between a few the users like dopple deinfamous n dave the rave

There's a few ways they could reach out to the members, but they're being apathetic about it as usual. If they want to sell it, I'll buy it.

Nah, I believe they'll be back.

Someone mentioned at an earlier post that the owners should sell the site. Why not just sell it? A month down, no one wins.

there is a lot more to running a busy community than you might believe.

I knew there was a djf refuge somewhere other than that weak facebook page...!

This is a great site though, love the professionalism and write ups.

Mods are welcoming too.

Exactly what I was going to say, I look at Googles' cached version every so often to look at things I didn't get a chance to when the site was actually up.

I'm imstillnotadj btw.

I believe DJF going down has had very little effect on me, since I am on many community s already, some just for various things, but I'm on a few that about djing and production (like KVR and GS). I check multiple times a day to see if DJF is back up though, just because it was such a great community.

They used to I believe. Subaru community or some shit. I get the feeling that its all a bit much for the admin guys there at DJF in recent times. Those dudes are getting older, families, full time real jobs etc, and trying to run a significant community as a side project would be crazy tough. Theres only so many hours in the day.

Let me be clear that I don't want anything to change here and that wasn't the point of my question. It was more a feeler to see if there was a feature or something we coul add. The vibe here is the #1 thing we have going for us and changing that wouldn't be a good thing.

Thats kinda what the General Discussion Forum is for.

If a product or topic becomes incredibly popular and takes ove the General Forum or simply needs a dedicated subcommunity , one is created as happened with with S4 community .

Its more of an organic thing, it happens when it needs to happen.

First and foremost, thank you to everyone who helps keep DJTT and the community s here going. This is a very friendly, helpful, and insightful place. There aren't too many places that are all three. Case in point is the quote above.

Speaking for just myself, I do enjoy DJTT. The articles are nice and easy to read. The community s are friendly. I'm not active here - but I do drop by often. If DJF is down, I'm here more often. I like to believe that DJTT is a growing community that is more targeted than DJF - and that is its strength.

Saying this differently, DJTT community s already HAS a great identity and shouldn't really change. What is done is being done well. There isn't a NEED to change. The fact that DJF peeps check in here speaks volumes of the quality of the community s, IMHO.

IF, however, DJTT really does want to create a home for DJF peeps, I would suggest making a section in the community that is dedicated to ALL Digital DJing Tools so that new products can be discussed in depth. This would be were the lastest info for Traktor, ITCH, SSL, Torq, Cross, etc. would be discussed.

I'd also recommend having a sticky that provides a quick matrix of features for the "top" packages - similar to this site for DVS packages.

Seems that there a lot of people missing djf

I also miss it and i've been an active user on it for like 3-4 years? since it was our favorite place for djing discussions but was yet really unstable we thought that we could create a new community for both DJs & Producers!

So basically what we did is, we combined elements of popular websites, like DJForums, GearSlutz and others, into one website, creating the massive place for DJs & Producers, thus we made a "mashup", creating a community that will host both since they are in the same industry.

Just believe of that, DJs being able to learn how to remix and even create their own tracks without having to change to a music production community.

Vice versa, producers will be able to let DJs listen to their tracks and give them feedback on how they can improve and probably work together

DJF and DJTT both have their place. I'm excited to [one day] post on DJF again...If it comes back.

And I remember the final banning of DJ Dennis. It was actually after he attacked me in one of the first few threads I started! A++

I have been around.... In fact, I have quite a large number of posts there...

I witnssed several people getting banned (dennis lolol), and I believe I am very popular in the sale/buy thread....

Obviously the comment I made is under the assumption that DJF will come to a stable period once again.... We all want and NEEED it to be back to normal again!

However as you mentioned, others have been inclined to leave DJF... I certainly am not as there is no other community s like DJF imo... however that pass could be n incentive for others to stay or even support the community economically.

Let's just hope DJF comes back again!!

It's not irrational, but it is a bit unreasonable if you have been around DJF for a while.

Before I rant on for a bit, let me start by saying that DJTT is a great place. The only real limitation is that DJTT is ground-zero for controllerism - which is basically tied to Traktor. If you like either one, you're going to be cozy here. If not, DJF was the place to be.

Here's the deal with DJF: It is/was a grassroots effort built by car enthusiasts (with tech skills) who wanted to make a community for DJs. DJF was the result. It catered to everyone... and was run as friends would run it: by the seat of their pants.

The magic of DJF is/was that it had three "modes" of use:

* Newbies - it had everything needed to address all manners of starting
* Regulars (Club/Mobile) - it had everything needed to get you from starting to a residency or promoted for mobile work
* Humor - The Off-topic area was a hidden gem. When you needed a break from DJing, there were lots of people to crack jokes or troll.

Getting back to the quote at the top of this post, the VIP section was a hidden section of the site reserved for those that donated to the site (for VIP membership). While the section has bewbs and offensive humor, the BEST part of it is that there's open access to the Admins.

The Admins (founders) have put a TON of work into DJF and it shows. When things go wrong with the site, they hear nonstop how DJF sucks. After awhile, it sounds like their efforts aren't appreciated... and that gets old. I feel for them.

There was never a dull moment on DJF. I miss it.
