The Happy Thread...
Posted on: 11.08.2011 by Margie Pavell
with all the garbage internet tough guy bickering going on lately i thought i would start a happy thread...

what ever makes you happy please tell us...we are all here for you...

whether it your wife, your kids, your car, weed, smack, booze...whatever...no one is here to judge you and tell you that if you use a sync button with a windows laptop that you're dumb and ugly...cause you're not...you are a great human being (some of you)...

i will go first...

playing left for dead 2 makes me happy...there is nothing like shooting zombies with an automatic shotgun....or slicing them with a katana...

The Four Agreements are:

1. Be Impeccable with your Word: Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the Word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your Word in the direction of truth and love.

2. Don’t Take Anything Personally
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

3. Don’t Make Assumptions
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

4. Always Do Your Best
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.
loving this! thank you both, and keithace, found myself believeing about #2 & #3 a long long time after I read your post. I'm not generally inclined towards books like those but these two points really make one come to terms with their cognitive distortions *guiltyyyy*

It makes me happy to come home from a day of school to be able to go into a studio I built myself, through years of self sacrifice. I have the ability and support of my family to practice my French Horn, Guitar or DJing. The look on one of my friends face when I give her a USB with a new mix, When I discover new music in my fathers record collection and when my girlfriend dances while I make music all bring me so much joy. So does Dr. Pepper and DJTT!

Went to hell & back recently, and you believe you will never be able get through it. You will get through it if you want to - but work at it - it doesn't just happen. Your family, your friends (including some wonderful people on these community s), your values and your integrity will always stay with you. Dig deep mate.

I'm actually going through a pretty serious depression so this thread is a pretty good find heh

so music, obviously, music keeps me going otherwise I'd be elsewhere, yeah?
I've been learning a lot about electronics and microcontrollers lately (diy midi project in the works) and getting really silly almost stupid things right for once like getting an LED sequence working seems to make me happy.

I guess there's obvious moments in a gig that will always make me happy, no matter how bad it gets, there is a point in the set when (you all know!) you're close to the top of the world.

I have a couple of friends that keep me sane, and, TV marathons, food and drinks and sleepovers in such company keep my head in the game

But definitely digging finding new music from the deepest darkest corners of wherever, that keeps me okay. It even makes me happy.

This thread is currently making me smile, some cool stuff in here :-D

I live some distance from my family, so seeing them makes me happy, as does my cat, sunny days, moot foreign holidays, scantily clad women on hot foreign holidays and chatting up said women...

Music has to be top of the list though, music is the one thing that can make you happy, sad, angry, etc, but its also the only thing that will never take from you. Which has got to be pretty cool in itself!

Much Love (<----- Just to continue to spread the happy) :-)

Yeah its crazy. Once your pet has the rabies vaccinations it cant enter Australia for 5 months. Then spends an additional 30 days in quarantine in Aus. For us we had to leave the UK pretty urgently so our pet had the vaccination 2 weeks before we left so had to spend the full 6 months (7 actually because the first set of vaccinations didnt work) in quarantine in Sydney, then she flew to Perth to join us.
