B: They're going to add new HID-only features in this new traktor version that they'll prevent you from using with any other controller. Remember how well this business plan worked for the S4, the S2 AND the F1? Why would they stop? |

Leeanna Ayla 13.09.2012 | I wouldn't call this the launch because they told us nothing about it. This was a tease and until the official launch when they explain what it is we are only making WAG as to its intent. |

Quality mixers with a soundcard and midi capabilites aren't cheap. |
Desire Piedmont 13.09.2012 | If it's a scratch mixer why not launch it with a scratch DJ video? |
Ming Devis 13.09.2012 | looks like it is turntable height |
Shalon Jaranilla 13.09.2012 | They better have accessible faders to clean or/and replaceable, Because that has been a real pain in the .... with the s4 and s2. |
Lang Abriel 12.09.2012 | Comes down to price point weather or not this thing will be profitable....hopefully NI has learned from pioneer's mistake with the T1. If it comes in above 500 it will be a flop and im sure their marketing team knows that, otherwise we will see mad discounting by NI which is usually what happens anyways. edit: If its standalone I will buy it for under $750 |
Horacio Stranathan 12.09.2012 | Its all speculation. I love how ones word turns into anothers gospel. Just wait and see, then decide if it is for you or not! |
Bunny Sockel 12.09.2012 | Maybe NI will stop making all in ones and just make a 2 channel mixer and 4 channel mixer to replace the s4 and s2 then focus more on the f1 and x1 type controllers |
Johnetta Olewine 12.09.2012 | Couldn't be fucked reading all the heresay and wank of the last 18 pages. One question, is it a standalone mixer with phono/line inputs capable of running traditional decks or not? |
Frieda Swoboda 12.09.2012 | I don't really understand this thing. Seems to fall right in the middle of all categories, which makes it sort of useless. It's not quite this, it's not quite that, etc. My only guess is that instead of being expensive, it's going to be very cheap. That's really the only way that justifies it. Unless there are way more features. |
Ming Devis 12.09.2012 | I wish you could run an external source into Traktor like a vinyl record or cdj and use the effects on that sound. I don't know about ditching my mixer with analogue filters and X1 for those times when I spin real vinyl or my friends bring their CDJ's and usb sticks. |
Nita Eviston 12.09.2012 | im believeing new flux mode = slip mode of some sort |
Johnsie Kingrea 12.09.2012 | I can confirm a couple things after ripping the 1080p and loading it into FCPX and doing some color adjustment. There is a booth output (something a lot of S4 users missed), I'm not sure what the knobs that are on the top corner do, also there's a series of micro buttons that run along the top of the mixer. The switches that are on top are also definitely phono/line switches. |
Beverlee Bedrin 12.09.2012 | I don't know if this has been mentioned already, but after watching the video closely again, it seems like if flux mode is like Pioneers slip mode. Also, it seems as if the two extra decks have rotaries instead of faders for volume control. |
Werner Bile 12.09.2012 | How interested I am in this is going to vary greatly depending on the price. $600 or below and I'm all over it. |
Kori Shatz 12.09.2012 | If it works as a standalone mixer and can be upgraded with an Innofader - it may be very interesting... If not I will keep my good old PMC 05 and 6 with the inno's and an X1. |
Yong Aptekar 12.09.2012 | I like it a lot, but curse you Native Instruments for making me want to spend my money. |

I mean, it could be, but it doesn't make much sense. 1) Theres the whole system of Traktor plugged right into it, with mixing capablilites built in. 2) NI aren't exactly great at making mixing software. Traktor's mixer is pretty meh all around. A standalone mixer with Traktor's algorithms vs the DJM-T1? Yeah. No. I wouldn't be surprised if the NI mixer didn't have isolators. 3) Why would they jack the price so far up to include what's already done by the software? That just doesn't sound very efficient... Unless the people saying "standalone mixer" dont actually mean "standalone mixer" but "knob box thats ripped out of the middle of an S2 with some shineys." |

Johnsie Kingrea 12.09.2012 | The M could actually stand for Master and maybe it's post fader fx :O. |
Johnsie Kingrea 12.09.2012 | Is no one curious as to why this mixer has no chain FX on buttons?? |

Also just been chuckling to myself, still find it amusing that the advent of digital DJing; the ramp up in DJ products to market matches the traditional consumer electronics industry, yet Technics held court for a couple of decades with their TTs. Still it's all good fun. I'll stick with me 1210s and S4 for a bit longer I reckon. |
Leeanna Ayla 12.09.2012 | I've read that it is as tall as a regular mixer, but midi only. The extra space is for storing pineapple to put on your pizza. |
