Xone: DB4- the official unofficial thread
Xone: DB4- the official unofficial thread Posted on: 18.10.2011 by Romelia Stankard (former thread title Xone: DB4- convince me not to sell off my possessions and drain my bank account)I mean it's just a mixer, nothing I should sell my S4 and some other expensive possessions for and drain my bank account completely for... right? I am having a hard time with this decision. I know it won't make me a better DJ, yet it gives me the urge to make irrational spending decisions. Please talk me out of it. | |

Tatum Ansaldo 22.03.2012 | I would be awesome if you could route a channel's output back into another channel and chain the FX units... |
Kiyoko Wellisch 22.03.2012 | I feel that the DB4 is an exception though- if you worked those 4 brilliant effects units into your routine I could totally understand lugging it about and using it alone with a laptop and ableton. Maybe a launchpad as well. I certainly wouldn't bother if I were going to be using turntables/CD players though, too much hassle setting up. |

Kiyoko Wellisch 22.03.2012 | What do you mean Savour? If you really wanted to you could lug a DB4 to shows, it's not that heavy |

Tatum Ansaldo 22.03.2012 | wow, is that port powered? |
Dorie Scelzo 22.03.2012 | Wait, is that a USB goose neck light? Damn. Props. Finally, a reason for mixers to have USB ports………… |

Cliff Lohman 20.03.2012 | It would be great if the fx parameter names were displayed on the lcd screen somehow.. Theres so many great fx but sometimes i forget the parameters.. For example, if i choose masif delay, the lcd screen would show me that Exp will control feedback Adj will control freq Time will control time Obviously delay is easy to remember but the res, mod and dmg r where i could use the hints.. |
Larae Knifong 20.03.2012 | Hey! Will it still fit in the bag the DB4 came in?

Lynetta Stanislav 20.03.2012 | Just bought a nice black gloss one from ebay. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...#ht_2468wt_952 |
Felipe Rasper 20.03.2012 | So it founds out that the DECKSAVER for the djm800/XONE:92 Fits the XONE: DB4 / XONE: DB2 according to DECKSAVER's : https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater So after receiving the humbling Allen & Heath DB-4 late last week, we made a quick discovery. Our 12” Pro Mixer cover; part code DS-PC-DJM800 actually fits the DB-4 and DB-2 perfectly. As you well know our 12” Pro Mixer cover is one our founding covers originally designed for the DJM-800, however fits a range of mixers; Allen & Heath XONE DB-2, DB-4, 62, ,92 - Pioneer DJM-500/600/700/800/850 & Denon DN-X1100/1600/1700. http://www.decksaver.co.uk/shop/arti...S-PC-DJM800%26 |

Larae Knifong 19.03.2012 | Wow! It's been a while since I've seen this thread. I just found out about the new firmware. I was playing around with the iLive in the studio and we just got the iPad integrated into our system. I hope something like this can happen on the DB4/2. I would love to be able to control the DB's effects this way. Somehow get the iPad, mac and db to work together as one unit. (I can't believe this thread hit 72 pages.... just awesome) |

Brant Briski 19.03.2012 | bit bash is supposed to sound different relative to the coax and analogue inputs. you can get a 3rd variation by toggling the riaa filters on ch 2/3. tapping on them creates some microphonic like sounds... it's the byproduct of low bit rate quantizer distortion. when the bit rate goes down to super low res, like 4 or 2 bits, the difference between line noise and full audio is marginalized to similar levels. that's also how you can use bit bash to generate noise itself. all these topics are covered in a video i made a while back.

Felipe Rasper 18.03.2012 | So finally the Decksaver for the DB4 / DB2 are coming; as posted to Twitter by Decksaver : News coming Monday about DB2 & DB4 cover! I can't wait to get mine ! |
Cliff Lohman 15.03.2012 | Anybody else have any weird noise issues with the bitbash fx? Seems like its extra noisy when played with matrix on rca input but sounds cleaner on digital input.. |
