The attached tsi. is Fw 1.2 friendly as in it eliminates all conflicts caused by the juggle on/fx button 4 bug. I've had to make a few changes but none of the main features of this tsi have been compromised.

The new settings in this tsi., when following the jpg provided by Ean are as follows:

  • 'Sample' button is now 'Juggle On' button, allowing you to cue juggle without activating an Fx or changing cue settings.

  • The 'EQ Fx' button and 'Headphone Cue' button have swapped positions again ensuring that turning on an Fx does not change which track is being cued.

  • A 'Search' command has been added to both the 'List' up and down buttons. Now when you go into only browser view mode, the cursor automagically jumps to the search box and selects any text already present in it, making it far easier and faster to find a track. No need for that mouse now!

  • The 'Fx 3 On' button and 'Fx Button 2' now work as intended

  • As requested by others, I added a 'Phase Sync' command to all the loop active buttons in the advanced loops section. When you now press that button, the track you kick the loop out on syncs with all others and plays along nicely in time. VERY NICE!

  • What was 'Juggle On' becomes pretty much redundant, I don't like the idea of an Fx activating whenever you press that button so in this tsi. that is all it does, acts as another way of turning on 'Fx Button 2/ Fx 3 On'.

The only major loss is that of the sample mode, due to the bug there is no way of activating sample mode in this layout that I can believe of, I tried switching it to Fx Unit 1 and numerous other things but I'm kind of stumped on any viable options so I've just left it out altogether.

Hope this helps any of you 1.2 guys out there, the setup is essentially the exact same bar the last bit ^^^ so I hope you enjoy Ean's great work! It'll save you a couple of hours and some potential headaches
Ciao!

tiny thing i noticed that needs to be corrected before the final tsi and overlays are released: on the layout jpeg, the gator effect and the mulholland drive effect need to be swapped to match traktor's tsi or vise-versa.

Ean, meu amigo, good work as always. I'm gonna test it right now. Just an idea:

Would be great if the specialists (i'm mean, the real ones) here could post a small video, 3 to 5 minutes, of how they play with their respective TSI.

And what about a Dj TT support for laptops (the one that stands above the controller )?

Keep it up!

Got it. Had FX settings checked off the first time too. Everything loaded properly upon re-loading the file though. Thanks for all the dedication on this layout. It's fabulous!

Hey Ean,
Just to say thanks for your great work, love the simple changes to this tsi. As a Fw 1.2 user, I have had to make a few changes with the juggle on button and fx button 4/cue right deck to get around the bug in the firmware.

I'm gonna re-work this tsi to suit 1.2 and hopefully eliminate any overlapping of features this bug causes. I'll also add in a search function when the browser button is pressed and possibly loop out sync controls as mentioned above aswell.

When I'm done I'll post the tsi. up here and I was believeing maybe you could link to it on the midi-mapping page for all 1.2 users out there who can't get their hands on an upgrade kit. It will also help those who aren't too confident with re-mapping the controls themselves and guys who are new to the vci-100. I'm guessing you're a busy guy so I hope this will help you out in some way and also reduce the number of people looking for help to re-map their controls.

Thanks again for all your great work and keep it up!

Nice work Ean

I believe i found a bug: When you turn the loop knob deck A max the effect 1 goes on. In the midi file: Effect 1 on/Fx unit 1/hold/CC62. I believe its a left over from 1.3 tsi or? :-)

Ok couple of things

If were being all richie-esque with the old loop control, how's about a sync command in with the loop on off button so that everythin is back in sync when we release the loops ??

And the search comand when browsing collection , this seems like a no brainer to me , is there a reason that I'm possibly unaware of as to why its not incorperated? Its such a time saver.

Keep up the fantastic work

Just a note that nowhere on the installation notice was there a statement of which VCI firmware version this mapping is designed to be used with.

The notice was posted sometime way back in the past so I seem to be using the correct one by accident, but it would be good to attach a definitive statement to the installation instructions along with a step-by-step on how to set the firmware version.

Top job, though. Even if I do have to add my own beatjumping extensions....

The idea of the extra loop section is that it gives you simultaneous control over loops on all four decks, kind of like Hawtin's setup. With it you can toggle a loop on more than one deck at a time and then adjust their sizes without having to jump between a/b and c/d controls and views.

It's pretty handy for layering tracks and sampling small snippets of tunes or for long techno blends!

Your dedicated !!! And its all very very very very much appreciated but ....

Why are there so many loop controls ?

Is there anything anywhere that gives the idea behind them ?

There seems to be 8 loop, loop active, loop longer , loop shorter, for each deck, even c & d by using shift. But then 4 buttons seem to be wasted by repeating the loop on function

Any pointers on why ?

Hey Ean,

first of all - You the man.
I appreciate your work and am more than haapy to support by buying from your shop.
I am showing off and representing DJTT over here in Munich.
Most people fall in love your layout as hey do with the website.

That being said....You wrote the overlays will look like the picture provided with the latest TSI 2.2.

SO I GUESS YOUR NAME WILL NOT BE ON THE OVERLAYS THEN?

make sure you import the FX settings from the TSI file. This will order your FX correctly so they load the right ones.

that was in the last version- this new 2.2 file sent out last evening does not do that anymore.

^^^^Dude, I believe you have to import the settings...
Save your Settings and try reloading the .tsi with imported Settings.
You can always switch back.

Just a guess, as I have not tried the newest one yet.

After some minutes playtime, the only thing I found was the "EQ/FX" buttons also toggle the bank select. So when u press the button it turn the bank 1/2 off for deck A/B. I dont know if this is on purpose. but you may still want to play with FX with the regulare FX section when going to "EQ mode".

Love the new loop mode though, great work ean.
