MF Instant Gratification Mapping V1.0 (S4 and other controllers) Download the mapping here: http://www.djranking s.com/wp-conten...4Banks-1.0.zip This mapping requires 4 banks mode to be activated Learn how to enable 4 banks mode here: http://www.djranking s.com/community /showthread.php?t=9961 This mapping was designed for the S4 but is compatible with Traktor Pro and all controllers. If you have an older MF (pre 2/2011) you will need to update the firmware Get the auto firmware updater here (mac and pc): http://www.djranking s.com/community /showthread.php?t=24401 | |
Rosina Steinkuehler 29.03.2011 | As promised, here is the mapping for Maschine + MidiFighter. http://www.geekgod.com/0/Controller Editor - Maschine Traktor Fighter - Deck A and B.ncc TinyURL Version: http://tinyurl.com/6j5h3fr Please note that I am using a Kontrol S4 and hence the custom version of Traktor which for some reason seems to shift the notes by 1. Refer to the X1 MidiFighter thread for more information (somewhere near the end): http://www.djranking s.com/community /sho...d.php?p=255120 |
Jaymie Eve 30.03.2011 | i must be missing something, or maybe i simply don't have enough time to go thru all the posts but PLEASE someone give me kick start on getting my midi fighter to work. thanks |
Tatum Ansaldo 29.03.2011 | Please don't double post. |
Milda Finlaw 29.03.2011 | hello all, im a new comer to djtt. and fresh into the world of digital dj'ing if any one can help i would greatly apprecciate it. first question, i have an s4 with a new midi fighter i just received with the instant gratiffacation mapping, and whats the easiest way to go from the regular setting on my s4 (pre midi fighter) to the midifighter mapping? as i would like to use the regular setting on my s4 as well. is there an easy way to enable/disable the midi fighter in the s4 software while playing? . My next issue i'm having is in trying to figure this out myself in the controller manager i seemed to have fudged with something and now my midi fighter is'n working properly. the super combos arent working correctly and it seems that not all the banks on 4 banks mode are lit up. so do i have to reset it? if anyone can help or knows what i am talking that would be great seeing as i have a gig this saturday and want to work it out by then lol thank you for your time! |
Rima Goodier 29.03.2011 | Finished up adding the other 4 banks + hold. Load the TouchOSC to your iPhone/iPod (no iPad version yet) Open up the Pure Data patch and set your MIDI out in the options. Load Instant Gratification in Traktor and you're good to go. Download: http://db.tt/4ROH2oX |
Rosina Steinkuehler 28.03.2011 | Yeah let me clean it up and post it. I have pages on there that I use that most people will not ever use, etc. Until then its very very easy to setup. Visit these photos: http://twitpic.com/4edtyb http://twitpic.com/4edtx6 Basically create a page group in your maschine per deck and assign the values that I show from the Kontrol X1. Next assign the 'hit' values that I show in pic #2. For example you might want to put the group A on maschine for Deck A in Traktor. My editor template is not that user friendly having the midi fighter entries on e and f since my others where taken already. Import the stock midifighter mapping, change your input and output midi devices to maschine for all 4 decks. You should be rolling -- it really is that easy. I almost wet my pants after I discovered just how easy it was. |

Rima Goodier 27.03.2011 | Currently working on a TouchOSC/PureData mapping for this as well a Monome 40h mapping. I'll post D/L links once I get everything working %100. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkIUlTb05Hk |
Bronwyn Hambel 26.03.2011 | Yeah, all the ones you want to use for gratification FX. I also changed the hold and bank button velocities but maybe you don't? Or maybe the velocities need to change to something different? There's also 'mode' under the 'assign' tab - change to toggle instead of gate?? Lot of variables to try. Let me know if you find something and I will do the same. Thanks for the maschine midi bug info FYI - Under Assign tab, Action, I use the 'Hit' Action and not the Press 'Action'. I turn the press action off. |
Ngan Batstone 26.03.2011 | Oh do you need to change velocity to 127 for all pad input on the maschine? Nice find I noticed the same thing as well - here's the thread about it: http://www.djranking s.com/community /showthread.php?t=25622 Long story short, it's a bug in the S4 version of Traktor - it transposes midi input up one octave. |

So my Deck D ends on C4 thru B4 and not C5 thru B5. Is this what you had to do? Maybe I got something else wrong?? |
Ngan Batstone 25.03.2011 | Yeah I've got it running on maschine as well but supercombos and FX hold don't work for me either. Would be curious if you end up figuring out how to fix it - at some point I figure I'm just going to go through and recreate it from scratch but haven't gotten around to it yet. |

Tatum Ansaldo 24.03.2011 | You can't install midifighter firmware on an MPC. all you need to do is go to bank 1, set the bottom row to 36-39 (which I believe is how it's displayed on the MPC screen anyway), the next row to 40-43, the next row to 44-47, then repeat for the other banks using the appropriate values from the last page. I don't know the exact method for changing the notes, because I've never owned an akai pad controller, but one it's done you just import the midifighter mapping and set the in and out ports on all 4 mappings in traktor to the MPC. |
Bonita Danel 23.03.2011 | coo much appreciated on the chart understand much more now.but still a bit stumped as to which control do I assign to which buttons.you can tell I'm new to this please forgive me.but what I'm trying to achieve is automatic mapping without me having to figure out which keys to to map to which control or effect manually.I'd be there for quite the while if I tried.when I would switch the note number on the MPC it wouldn't match with the midi fighter mapping.I'm using Traktor scratch pro would I need the latest firmware for midi fighter to achieve this? |
Tatum Ansaldo 23.03.2011 | no worries man, that's what we're here for! (as well as all the OT shit ) |

Tatum Ansaldo 24.03.2011 | No worries, this was posted by DJ shabbar: Find the number in one of the 'dec' (decimal) columns, look at the top of the column to find the midi note and the left of the row to find the octave. For example, 36 (bottom left button of bank 1) is C2, 37 (next button) is C#2, 38 is D2 and so on. in my last post, 36...39 indicates that that row (the bottom row of bank 1) is notes 36 - 39. Don't ask me why there are so many different names for the same midi notes, I have no idea! |
Bonita Danel 23.03.2011 | I'm sorry to be a bother and do truly appreciate the assistance but I'm not sure how to read that system of code as of yet Is there a simpler way to understand it? |
Tatum Ansaldo 23.03.2011 | Notes: S1 S2 S3 S4 <- 00 .. 03 = Bank Select 4 4 4 4 <- 80 .. 83 = bank 4 4 4 4 4 <- 76 .. 79 = bank 4 4 4 4 4 <- 72 .. 75 = bank 4 3 3 3 3 <- 68 .. 71 = bank 3 3 3 3 3 <- 64 .. 67 = bank 3 3 3 3 3 <- 60 .. 63 = bank 3 2 2 2 2 <- 56 .. 59 = bank 2 2 2 2 2 <- 52 .. 55 = bank 2 2 2 2 2 <- 48 .. 51 = bank 2 1 1 1 1 <- 44 .. 47 = bank 1 1 1 1 1 <- 40 .. 43 = bank 1 1 1 1 1 <- 36 .. 39 = bank 1 |
Bonita Danel 23.03.2011 | Notes are customizable.I just saw this post now and see you do know about the mapping very well. "Worked fine when I tried it with my mate's MPD24, sorry I can't help. If the notes are right it should just work! edit: unless you tried changing the focus by some other means than the MF mapping shortcut. That makes things go all screwy for some reason." because the MPD24 is very if not the same exact setup as the MPC 2000xl so the transition there should work fine just need to know how you got it to work.thank you once again for your help. |

Tatum Ansaldo 23.03.2011 | whoa, you have one of these beasts? with a floppy drive? retro chic all the way! it's only possible to replicate the IG mapping if you use pages of controls, it implements a firmware feature of the MF called 4 banks mode whereby there are 4 banks of 12 buttons which are switchable to different notes. The midi notes will be somewhere in the sticky threads on the MF community . |
Bonita Danel 23.03.2011 | so had a question.I currently have a midi fighter on the way but in the mean time wanted to know can i map my MPC 2000xl pads to the instant gratification mapping just to get the feel of it I'm quite anxious to get started on it!much appreciated. |
Tatum Ansaldo 23.03.2011 | If it's adding new mappings it sounds like you're not using the BIG IMPORT BUTTON. This is NOT the one just under the list of controllers, click in my sig for a picture. Then select controller mappings and effect settings and click ok. |

Quiana Sedey 14.03.2011 | So I had a look through the thread, and didnt see it mentioned. Im running traktor pro, an audio 4, and a numark stealth. I want the midifighter just for effects, as posted in the video, and just want to confirm this wont interfere with my current mapping. |
Madalene Ranjan 14.03.2011 | Has anyone seen any others that were uploaded on YouTube? |
