CDJ-2000 looks like it has been discontinued- time for the CDJ-2000 Nexus speculation Posted on: 03.02.2012 by Romelia Stankard So it looks like the CDJ-2000 is officially discontinued according to a few sources and the CDJ-2000 Nexus will be released in April.Have any photos or details been leaked? I'm hoping for better screens and scrolling waveforms. What else could they add? http://excessiverecordsdjshop.blogspot.com/

Alfredo Tooher 04.04.2012 | how is it a step backwards if you are not using software like serato/Traktor? you don't need an iPad or laptop at all at the gig now like with the cdj900/2000, walk in with a flash drive and play. If you are the type who likes to search a little during a gig, you just take out your iPad and it connects to your router as it normally would, not sure where you are getting the ad-hoc network idea like that is such a problem, adhoc would be more if you had to connect the iPad directly to your computer for lets say screen sharing, the iPad at this point just pics up your router as normal "if" you felt like using it, I would love for pioneer to do this, right now I use their Rekordbox software simply because the search feature on the decks themselves sucks ass, I would love to just leave my laptop home and simply throw my iPad in my bag, if I needed to use it to search and drop, it's there, if not, it stays in the bag. Much better and precise then using serato in HID mode, thats a friggin joke right now |
Nancey Inderlied 04.04.2012 | Ok? So I need a wireless router, an ad hoc wireless network, and an iPad to make this work. And all the iPad does is act as a track browser? I'm confused how this replaces laptops, it seems like a major step back from using one. |
Alfredo Tooher 04.04.2012 | it doesn't need to integrate with your laptop on a gig, you use a wireless router, plug both decks wired into the router and connect the iPad wireless to the router so you have your own little network, this is how they all communicate, in my case where I use switch already, it would just be a matter of switching it out for a wireless capable one, so it's not far from leaving the laptop at home as you say it is I guess you didn't watch the video |
Nancey Inderlied 04.04.2012 | IIRC, they integrate with a LAN switch, and a laptop, which then ad hocs the iPad as a browser. Pretty far from leaving a laptop at home. |
Alfredo Tooher 04.04.2012 | new decks need iPad integration too, the new Denon decks integrate awesome with the iPad, plug in a usb drive to share between 2 decks, use the iPad as your screen to browse, search and drop tracks. Check this vid out from about 2:15 in
pretty great concept so you can truly "leave the laptop at home" |

Kati Khait 03.04.2012 | A NEW CDJ WILL BE COMING OUT!!! check out the caption on dirty south's instagram! The cdj is white? Idk everyone can post their thoughts about this: 975b1a0a7e0011e1be6a12313820455d_7.jpg “Good people from Pioneer just raided my studio with new upcoming gear...” http://instagr.am/p/I-0SgGk4dv/ |
Alfredo Tooher 02.04.2012 | that mockup is great, lol. it won't happen with a FW update though, the hardware most likely cannot produce moving waveforms on the fly, it would need a faster processor/video chip, the decks right now cannot even auto load hot starts so I doubt it can do moving waves |

Hyman Werness 02.04.2012 | i agree!! i would love to be able to leave my laptop at home and show up with a flash drive of some sort. random question... im new to this site how do i add my gear to my profile so it shows up like everyone else? |
Felipe Rasper 02.04.2012 | The Above would be a real game changers imo. We'll have to wait with what they really come up with... |

Hyman Werness 01.04.2012 | I'm starting to doubt the timeline of these players... I hope it's not another 9 months. |
Nancey Inderlied 01.04.2012 | The refurb price from Pioneer directly is something like $2800 a pair, and $1900 a pair for 900s. |
Addie Engbrecht 31.03.2012 | I know both DJDeals and ProAudioStar are both a little under $1699 list price, in case anyone was in market for one. Might be others around the same range, but I dnno. |

Alfredo Tooher 31.03.2012 | I believe the store price was about $200 cheaper at launch, so $1699, not sure why the price jumped, maybe demand? |
Hyman Werness 01.04.2012 | Were they that cheap at first??!! What made them bloat up in price?! |
Hyman Werness 01.04.2012 | My Djm-900 nexus has an MSRP or 2399 , list price of 2000 at most retailers. I paid 1650 out the door with no sales tax from guitar center with price matching. If anything, just ask for their typical 15% off. They usually give it to me. They also price match + 10% difference now at GC as well. Just make low offers to online retailers and have them email you a quote take it to GC and save... |
Alfredo Tooher 31.03.2012 | thats totally ridiculous that the 2000's are up to 1900 a deck, When they were released they were a couple hundred cheaper, I paid under $1300 a piece for the decks, i wouldn't have spent 1900 though. Pio should start dropping prices a little,, their competitors have caught up feature wise and people will start looking around at decks like the new Denon that is more then half the price and has some more features then the 2000's |
Alla Bluemke 31.03.2012 | I don't know man. New CDJ 2000s now go for 2400. Street price is like 1900. Used ones go for 1400 and up a piece typically. Since they won't be used ones for a while I expect 2500 MSRP, and 2200-2300 from internet stores for a good 6 months to a year. |
Hyman Werness 31.03.2012 | [QUOTE=guiltyblade;454422]i wouldn't be too overly concerned about that. when the new cdjs come out they will be 2500s a piece. I believe that is a little overpriced... maybe the MSRP is closer to that price... I'd expect an informed buyer to pay $1575-$1750 depending on what features are added. Backlit LED screen w/ scrolling colored WAV forms -- STARING at you PIONEER also side note, i don't see the importance of having my DJM-900 Nexus Traktor certified if you can't even get advanced HID support on to the flippin decks NI... |

Romelia Stankard 30.03.2012 | Hmmm getting close to april |
Rochel Gleese 30.03.2012 | But like everything you're better off selling before the new ones come out, not as many people know as you believe. Not everyone is big on community s. |
Alla Bluemke 29.03.2012 | i wouldn't be too overly concerned about that. when the new cdjs come out they will be 2500s a piece. you will be able to find 2000s for like 1000-1200 a piece and your 900s for about 700-900 a piece. |
Ruthanne Heiman 29.03.2012 | getting impatient now. i am concerned about the resale value of my 900's dropping after increased public knowledge concerning pioneers' new and discontinued cd players. |
Emely Metz 26.03.2012 | about 1 more week plus & it's April....patiently waiting |
Mimi Mahaffee 26.03.2012 | seems stupid to wait any longer for marketing the new model, soon it's summer and then people wanna relax and take business another time. |
Felipe Rasper 26.03.2012 | Nope, nothing, just the RMX-1000... |
Romelia Stankard 25.03.2012 | So messe has passed and still no word? |
