S4 - What to carry it in

S4 - What to carry it in
Posted on: 10.10.2010 by Julissa Serrone
Aside from the case meant for it, how do you guys plan on transporting your S4. I'm looking for a cool looking packpack that it will fit in, withough having to drop major bucks. Was looking at one of the old UDG bags, but I believe it's about an inch too small. Any ideas?

Back on topic, one of the websites that offers the backpack measures it, and they say they get well over 20 inches inside. Thinking very much about buying it.

I didn't take offence.

You made a statement that was partly untrue. I corrected it.

Pretty much all that Wickedsight said is spot on.
That's how it works. There are other members of this community in the same position as me regarding other companies, no big deal.

Just trying to help by answering a few questions on this community as many djtt guys don't go over to NI.

I'm not special , I'm just involved.

Bit crappy that you don't see it that way .
Listen; I'm sorry if what I said put anybody else, including my self, in a place of unspecial status. I didn't mean it that way. I was just wondering why. As far as the NI community s go, it was a joke (I believe) made by somebody else that they should hire you. I don't remember the exact context and because of that I am also sorry for quoting something out of context. By saying "I'm not special , I'm just involved." My guess is you intend exactly that; you received an early copy because with knowledge of it's capabilities you give back to the community 24/7. I am not keen to your previous whereabouts and relationships to NI, and to some degree I am, it slipped my mind. Won't happen again.

Haha, *motherly tone* calm down kids you will get your turn soon enough! Patience is a virtue.

Karlos is special because he is the reason for 85% of NI sales. ;-)

As far as I know, Karlos is a NI community mod, co-author of Traktor bible, and one of the beta testers of the S4. The amount of work he does for NI, makes it a very good choice for them to be friendly, and give him one a little early.

Also, they know that, if he finds bugs, he has a direct line to NI, so they might be able to polish the firmware before shipping the things. (Typing this makes me wonder if the firmware is user updatable )

Another thing is that getting his S4 a little early gives him and Rainer a head start in writing some S4 guides for the Traktor Bible. This head start also allows him to answer questions about the S4 on this community , and the NI community , as soon as end-users start having questions about their newly acquired piece of AWESOME!

Please correct me if I'm wrong Karlos

1: Inside the NF bag. Put my VCI100 softcase inside for protection.

2: Bag sealed up (S4 inside).

This one:

http://hypebeast.com/2009/03/the-nor...essenger-bags/

It fits but only just and you wouldnt want to put anything else in as it will scratch the S4.
Also probably wouldnt offer much rain protection as the sides are pushed out.

I got mine in sale really cheap so im guessing its deadstock now.

Could you share which type the bag is, I happen to know a guy who works at a NF store

Those Burton bags are very nice indeed.

Still only 21". with the lining and padding i just dont believe the s4 will fit especially at the top.

Also , i have a North Face bag that the S4 fits in but its a tight squeeze. You gottw keep those knobs well cushioned so some foam piece, front & back might be a good idea in any bag that it fits in.

I just sent an e-mail to a website that sells the bag, to see if they could tell me the inner dimensions. Maybe I should e-mail burton directly too...

Too bad they don't sell it in the netherlands as far as I can tell...

15.5 inches. Just close enough for a tight fitting S4
Yeah but dude, again that is the size of the bag top to bottom not the inside compartment.

I dont believe the Namba is gonna take the S4 mate. I just looked up the dimensions of the Axiom 25 and the its a good inch shorter than the S4 and it looks like a tight squeeze in the video. Shame.

Gotta be something out there that isnt a huge Military bag.

I don't believe you want the ironic DJ Nike SB backpack

its 25" high, 19" wide, obviously more than 2" deep to hold the S4

It's a perfect fit. 20 inches high, 16 inches wide. The extra space is just enough for some cables and stuff.

If I were you I'd just head down to marshals with a ruler and figure it out.
