S4 - What to carry it in
S4 - What to carry it in Posted on: 10.10.2010 by Julissa Serrone Aside from the case meant for it, how do you guys plan on transporting your S4. I'm looking for a cool looking packpack that it will fit in, withough having to drop major bucks. Was looking at one of the old UDG bags, but I believe it's about an inch too small. Any ideas? | |
Cristian Carmona 07.12.2010 | a guy on craigslist is selling it for 150.00 in L.A. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv...095975227.html |

Ignacio Rutner 05.12.2010 | The quoted VMS4 case dimension dont make sense: (L x W x H) 520 x 245 x 360mm According to the above it its 50% higher than it is wide. Some how I dont believe it is 36cm tall. Must be a mistake. It looks like the right size and a good option to me. |
Oswaldo Appeldorn 05.12.2010 | fit the s4??? |

Twyla Hilst 05.12.2010 | For people into Flycases, the VMS4 one is way cheaper than the N.I. and according to the specs it fits... http://www.thomann.de/gb/american_audio_acf_sw_vms4.htm |
Janyce Henningson 05.12.2010 | MAybe a big rucksack is the way to go, rather than an gear
bag? Something like this: http://www.gaynors.co.uk/productdeta...e=060401420008 Not the prettiest thing tho |
Leeanna Ayla 05.12.2010 | I seriously doubt it'll fit in that Thule bag. If you look at the picture of the guy holding the bag he's holding it from the back of teh bag so You're looking at the top of the bag. No way an S4 will fit in there imo. |
Oswaldo Appeldorn 05.12.2010 | I would love to have the thule one if it fit cause i really like the look... does it fit it?? if yes i will buy it noow |
Hailey Westen 05.12.2010 | this is what i want to carry my S4 in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WM3Jb...eature=related check it |
Velvet Sezer 05.12.2010 | yeah i read all the posts to and thought the magma bag would be the best solution but now i read that it wasn |
Jovan Loughney 05.12.2010 | Hey everyone, I've been reading, and now have read EVERY post on this thread - thought I'd share 2 solutions I have for getting my S4, computer and cables around. My main bag has been this one from Pelican: Pelican PCS-183 D'Exec Series Rolling Camera Case with Removable Laptop Bag http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...n_PCS183B.html Currently unavailable, but it's the same bag I've used (for 2 years) to carry around my A&H Xone:2D, Audio 8, Kaos Pad, etc - but now it exactly fits the S4. Lifetime Guarantee too. the detachable computer bag holds up to a 15" laptop, plus cables, - there's even a long, narrow zipper pouch at the top to hold a power strip (always bring one). Also, Guitar Center recommended these: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/BossBagL2 http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/BossBagL Other than that, we can go back to Pelican and see what they have new now. They'll make almost anything, any size. And did anyone ever get that THULE bag from before?: http://www.etrailer.com/Cargo-Bags/Thule/THTCDP-1.html Looked pretty dope. -dh |
Karolis Petrauskas 05.12.2010 | How about something like this : http://www.skbcases.com/industrial/p...=f7&id=636&s=p Or http://www.adorama.com/SEASE920FBK.html |
Twyla Hilst 04.12.2010 | As I saw critics on NI community , they say that the magma bag is not comfortable and provides pain to your back |
Velvet Sezer 04.12.2010 | i live in germany and got the s4 a week ago but the flightcase is still on its way. the dj store told me it would come in the 4th week of january, and now im really believeing about buying the magma bag since it has enough space and is a little cheaper.maybe even a better to handle with in everyday life, since i usually dont travel further than to the next city by train. has anybody bought the magma bag yet? |

Right now I have : 1 bag for my accesories (Laptop stands, cables, small format mixer behringer mx602a ...) + 1 case for my laptop + Traktor S4 in the original box (still) Is that UDG S4 trolley rummor is true, this might be a good solution for me ! |
Carlee Pickard 04.12.2010 | The novation one looks so ugly though! Imo i'd go with the flight case for sure (the official one from Native Instruments) at this point, but thats because (as someone else pointed out earlier) I do have a car and a way to carry the big flight case around. Thats jus my two cents though! Good luck on your search! |
Jane Ramaekers 04.12.2010 | At this point, do you have recommendations at this point for a Kontrol S4 Bag ? Seem's like some of you bought the Magma Studio/Gig Bag 25 and maybe the NOVATION SOFT CARRY CASE 25. Any review on them ? |
Leeanna Ayla 04.12.2010 | US Amazon link for the Novation bag [ame]http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001JJCO7S/ref=asc_df_B001JJCO7S1342483?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&ta g=hyprod-20&linkCode=asn&creative=395093&creativeASIN=B001J JCO7S[/ame] |
Twyla Hilst 04.12.2010 | Seems that the "NOVATION SOFT CARRY CASE 25" is right for the S4, and is foundable for +/- 50€ http://www.thomann.de/fr/novation_so...ry_case_25.htm |
Clinton Kordell 02.12.2010 | I just got my case a couple days ago. I was bummed on how big it was. 2 of 3 dimensions are bigger than my 1200 cases. If NI would have not added the extra space (for cabling I assume) and added another cut out on the back for the connections, it would be perfect. Oh well. |

The Traktor UDG bag and the Maschine UDG bag are based on UDGs current Deluxe Courier bag so i guess they just modded it a bit without much work. A purpose made S4 bag would take some time but they have had enough time. Price correctly they would sell loads of them cus even though the flight case is amazing its just not in the price range for most people when you consider that you also need a courier bag to go with it and most people like to take just one item with them not 2. |

All i was told was "that is so close to what we have coming, its not even funny" (its fine for me to say this now i guess). And that was it. My head was spinning at the prospect of an NI controller with Jog Wheels. The S4 is so much better but i dont believe i did so bad..? |
Leeanna Ayla 29.11.2010 | I was looking for that mock up the other day to see what it looked like compared to the real thing. |
Ignacio Rutner 29.11.2010 | Does it have to be a bag? I am believeing about making a slimmer case from mdf. |
Horacio Stranathan 29.11.2010 | HAHA Karlos, I hate explaining the mocking up of controllers. That is an awesome story! I would have loved to be in on that phone call or meeting! |
