Well just make sure to get all your toys BEFORE the wedding day as after that...All bets are off. Speaking from experience. Congrats on the engagement BTW

Ha ha, dude for the price I paid for her ring I can get almost 10 S4's!

Hmm pondering having the S4 and sleeping on the couch....

From what I know, for the moment the software only supports the S4 controller and vice versa. I have heard that they will be updating the software at a later date in the future.

The real question is what you want to send to your outputs.

Do you want the 2 track decks and 2 sample decks as 4 different outputs or not?

If you do, you'll need a soundcard with 4 output channels, ie the Audio8DJ.
And you'll need a mixer with 4 input channels too.

And if you want the software, you'll have to wait a while

most likely not gonna buy it but intrested in the software: any idea if an audi 2 dj would be enough to output 2 decks + sample decks or do i need an audi 8 for that (and 4 channel mixer obv) ?

Just played with the S4 for around an hour and a half and I already love it. Didn't believe I'd use the loop recorder much but it's a great thing. Can layer up tracks and create something awesome.

I emailed them when you sent me the email, and just got my confirmation that my S4 order was cancelled, thanks Photo.

So one lucky person, probably whomever ordered right after they ran out of current units (I believe the last day was on Oct. 24th that they were selling from the first batch) will be getting theirs this sometime this week too! I hope you enjoy it - whomever you are that gets it!

according to the new S4 review on DJTT, you can set Deck C or D (or both) to a live audio through. You do sacrifice 4 samplers there though.

yeah, that sucks - rerouting every time... it sure is too bad Traktor won't simply accept Reason as a 'rewire' instrument. It seems like an obvious use people would want to have, given the sampling decks.

Can Someone please try it, if possible - with the VCI-100 or the S4??? Pretty please :P

You might have to have Decks C&D on to do that, not sure...

Karlos has been doing 3 or 4 gigs a week for a couple of months and loves it. As far as sound cards it's essentially the same as using an Audio 4 or 8 so thats good. People talk all the time about analog vs digital sound, but I doubt I could tell you one from the other in a club while a party was going on.

The way it works is if you have a track in a deck and your in an active loop you hit one of the sample deck buttons and the active loop is loaded into the corresponding sample deck. If there your not in active loop the sample deck is loaded with a loop from wherever the play marker is and it's set to the whatever size is displayed in the loop count display. After the loop is played live it's then automatically added to the sample library.
The sample isn't loaded into the sample collection until it's played three times.

there is always ramp-up,no matter if we use a midi controller or with controller just using the mouse ,dragging and dropping the waveform, you can see/hear the ramp-up,in djdecks, virtual DJ,mixdeck that doesn't happen...
is this solved in Traktor Kontrol S4?
Here's some good scratching videos. Do you hear it in either one?
