Wow, anybody seen this video yet?

This guy does some seriously nice D&B mixing, and makes great use of the sample decks. He also shows that with the S4 you really don't have to touch your PC at all!

It's close. I still believe we should be able to deactivate the cross fader in settings.

Cool news on the gig. Regular?

Sorry for the OT. Us Brits like to natter eh.
I know what you mean it was painful, I have my daily patrols of music sites (it's a bit of an OCD I'm sure) and when I couldn't do it I got proper withdrawl's and when I finally got back on I didn't know where to start, felt swamped.

The gig (as in the evening ) is regular but they have about 10 DJ's that play for them (3-4 a evening usually as goes on til 6), I'm now one of the 10 which is wicked but it means I won't play every single one of them.

I've just pm'd you about something else.

is it possible to edit the tsi (just like with the X1) inside the new software ?
In the preferences menu, go to the Kontrol S4 section.
You can adjust the brightness of the leds in the OFF-state.
I have it set on 7, so the leds have a little bit of shine of em, even when they're off. When something is switched ON, they'll light up with full brightness.

Yes there is a beatjump function.
You have two rotaries besides your loop length display. With the right rotary you choose you loop length & when you press it, the loop will be activated. With the left rotary you jump forward or backward when you turn it. The length of the beatjump is the same as the loop length on your loop length display.

You can NOT edit the default mapping of the S4. You can create a usermapping that works parallel with your default mapping OR you can delete your default mapping and create a usermapping, but you'll have to start from scratch and some functions will not work (ie. the loop length displays).

Yeah its only during first install. But you can replicate it kinda...

Unfortunately theres no mechanism to do it automatically but if you keep S4 updated and use that you could just copy the Collection.nml and import it to Traktor Pro.

Remember that this will copy collection/Playlists etc it wont copy actual track files so your Tracks will have to be imported before hand. iTunes makes this really easy as you can just import new tracks into both programs direct.

Also it wont copy your TSI changes but yeah, you can just keep doing the collection import and you will have perfectly mirrored programs.

Can you do this from time to time to keep things in sync between the two, or is this a one time shot during install only?

Was on holiday end of September then got back and moved house right after the first gig I did at beginning of October, I had no money for a whole month after that so couldn't get any internet hooked up. It was like losing your phone, felt well detached!!

Been back on here though in the last week/ 2 weeks thougyh. Nice being back.

Got a regular gig out of that first one though which is awesome, so happy. Next date is on 19th!!

U cool? (Sorry for the OT)

Ooh yeah if you grid a track in S4 then import it to TPRO the grid goes with it as its stored in the file.

They dont share playlists. You would have to export a playlist and then import it.

The S4 folders are separate from the TPRO folders. They dont share any settings folders at all. That would cause issues.

S4 is completely different software so it sits alongside TPRO with TPRO not being affected in any way.

Not a dumb question at all mate.

Tpro and TS4 are totally independant so they wont cross contaminate.

The first S4 installation will ask if you wish to copy your existing TPRO Collection and settings. This makes a mirror of your current TPRO install in every single aspect.

After that first install they are running independent so they both need separate updating.

You can even use both at the same time for creating playlists and general housekeeping. Ive been keeping my TSP updated with anything added to S4.

yeah, that's right. 2 computers. Karlos confirmed that.

The rumors say that you can even put it on more (3-4 maybe). Unless you start to overdo it, NI may not block the license ...

Thanks guys
From what i can gather it will be just like normal software you can have it on your home pc then when you want it on your labtop you just change it in service center to your lappy cant have it "authenticated" on two computers at once but you can use it on 2,

i dont have my s4 yet im just speculating on how NI software usually works i dont believe it would be any different on the new s4 software

http://www.traktorbible.com/freaks/m...ew.aspx?id=105 is the only mapping ive seen available so far it looks pretty nice depends what you want i guess make your own mapping or base it off the original. There is no default mapping besides the obvious mapping that comes with an X1

@shoog im pretty sure it has a controller editor and you can map things within it by adding a new device or importing a .tsi

answer is yes, but there are certain (minor) sacrifices from re-mapping
