When something is switched ON, they'll light up with full brightness. Yes there is a beatjump function. You have two rotaries besides your loop length display. With the right rotary you choose you loop length & when you press it, the loop will be activated. With the left rotary you jump forward or backward when you turn it. The length of the beatjump is the same as the loop length on your loop length display. You can NOT edit the default mapping of the S4. You can create a usermapping that works parallel with your default mapping OR you can delete your default mapping and create a usermapping, but you'll have to start from scratch and some functions will not work (ie. the loop length displays). |
nayit ruiz jaramillo 02.11.2010 | Yeah its only during first install. But you can replicate it kinda... Unfortunately theres no mechanism to do it automatically but if you keep S4 updated and use that you could just copy the Collection.nml and import it to Traktor Pro. Remember that this will copy collection/Playlists etc it wont copy actual track files so your Tracks will have to be imported before hand. iTunes makes this really easy as you can just import new tracks into both programs direct. Also it wont copy your TSI changes but yeah, you can just keep doing the collection import and you will have perfectly mirrored programs. |

Laronda Lewison 02.11.2010 | After playing with mine last evening
I have a question. How do I copy what's currently in the Loop Recorder into one of the sample decks? Cheers |

The first S4 installation will ask if you wish to copy your existing TPRO Collection and settings. This makes a mirror of your current TPRO install in every single aspect. After that first install they are running independent so they both need separate updating. You can even use both at the same time for creating playlists and general housekeeping. Ive been keeping my TSP updated with anything added to S4. Service Centre see S4 as a whole new application. |
Wanda Insel 02.11.2010 | Quick question:- Has anyone gone from Traktor Pro to the new S4 software when using the KS4? Does it all run through the NI Service centre? What happens to the Traktor pro on your system, maybe a dumb question bit is it still usable? |
Gaylord Giotta 02.11.2010 | got mine yesterday normally i would use itch this is my first experience of tracktor OMG there are so many options knobs, faders i dont know where to start believe i will start at the basics and work my way up from there . all in all im very impressed |

Francina Decosse 02.11.2010 | yeah, that's right. 2 computers. Karlos confirmed that. The rumors say that you can even put it on more (3-4 maybe). Unless you start to overdo it, NI may not block the license ... |

Devona Labreck 02.11.2010 | Quick question for one of you lucky buggers that already have the S4. How many times can you authenticate the traktors4 software ? Ie: If you put it on your home computer will there be any hassle putting it on a second machine ? Thanks guys |

Jordon Atterholt 02.11.2010 | A quicky. Can i use a midifighter with the S4? |
Peggy Gabrielson 02.11.2010 | how have you guys mapped your x1's if you have one? is there a default mapping that comes with the s4? |
Francina Decosse 02.11.2010 | answer is yes, but there are certain (minor) sacrifices from re-mapping checkout Telly's custom mapping @ traktor fraks: http://traktorbible.com/freaks/mappingone.aspx?id=126 |
Irvin Cee 02.11.2010 | I've got 3 questions for S4 users : is there a way to light up buttons when there are not in use, but with less bright light ? (exactly like on the X1) or is it just light on or off ? is there still the beatjump functions on the S4 software ? is it possible to edit the tsi (just like with the X1) inside the new software ? |
