New Behringer Kit

See http://www.behringer.com/EN/Category...rs.aspx?s=O500 & prices are on various pics at http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?s...8621758&type=1

$99 - $149 for the modulars
$199 for the mixtrack type dual decks (with no balanced out - bit of a fail)

Need to see the build quality as ever with Behringer, but they do look nice

well i love the prices and have thought that modular controllers are a great way to go since finding out about all the digitial dj'ing stuff...

the new NI controller was making me slightly rebelieve my desire for a K2 but these definitely are. more choice is good...

they're saying "summer" i believe, so 6 months would be a good guess...

Since the only models on existence are handmade I'll take a guess that it'll be six months before they hit stores.

My prayers have been answered. The CMD MM-1 is exactly what I want. Anyone have ideas about release date?

The most interesting thing is for a first time midi controller buyer, you can couple the Studio 4A (internal soundcard and dual PL-1) with say the DVS-1 for more parameter control (4 effects) and with a cheaper piece of software ($59 - The One Software), you have yourself a killer little set up at the fraction of the price of many competitors.

As I said in the NAMM thread, Behringer is going to shake up the game from a price-point and versatility standpoint.

Looked at the vid posted on DJTT - quickly pausing the vid, I saw 128, 127.99 & 127.97 on the bpm, so the pitch fader looks nice and accurate The video says that it's "14-bit capable", but I never know whether this means it can output 14-bit midi, but has a resolution lower than this (I've got one that is 14-bit capable, but only runs at 10-bit accuracy).

Does Traktor even respond to changes in pitch that are smaller than it's 0.01bpm on-screen indicated increments?

Still, it'll do for me, except that the slider is only 2 1/2 inches (I believe) long

I do like the led's alongside the tempo fader though, to show where the on-screen slider is.

Seams that controllers are going to be linkable but on all pics I have seen I can't find more than one usb on the back...
The title for the diagram though is "Connection Diagram Single Device". Dunno what they mean by this, but I believe they all have to be connected by the USB in the back - haven't seen anything to contradict this.

I guess that they mean "Connection Diagram Single USB Device" - as they are all being pointed through to the MM, which has a 4 port USB hub on the back (it's annyoying that I am going to need 5 or 6 though!!)

There's loads of affordable CDJs out there- don't need to wait for behringer to make something (which I doubt they ever will). Still you get what you pay for with CDJs (except with the low end Pioneer stuff, there you're paying for a name too.)

US & UK/Europe prices have for the NOX series been pretty much identical, that is not 150$ and 150

+1 for the midi mixer with built in hub!

CMD MM-1 + Xone K2 + MPC Studio (+ the trusty Kontrol X1) = My new rig

or possibly just 2x K2's and the MPC

Actually, something cool about the ableton clip grid controller- you could map a button to shift the box one full width to the left/right (this is possible, right?) and get control over all your channels with no worries since you don't have to worry about fader position as it has encoders rather than knobs. At first I thought that 4 columns wasn't many but baring this in mind it doesn't matter so much.

DC-1 screams sample deck volume/filters for this S2 user!

Nice looking affordable stuff all the way around.

It's great to see so many people liking the product for what it is, rather than hating the company for what it was. Behringer (Bear-ring-jer, not Be-ringer ) are a great company moving forward, trying to help musicians/DJs etc with cheap, but effective products. It's about time people stopped slagging them off, and took them seriously (cause it sounds like they have more of this sort of stuff in the pipeline). Read the Scratchworx article and you will see that they could have charged more, but didn't want to - surely you'd prefer to buy your kit of a company like this than one who are only interested in how much they can get out of you for their latest gear ?? Charging as little as possible, whilst still being economic is Behringers policy - how can anyone moan at that???

I have bought some of their PA kit (amps, xovers), and it's great stuff. Hey, I've even still got my BCD3000 which started my whole transformation from vinyl to MP3 - and I still use it to rock parties (admittedly, not the jogs tho, ok not the buttons either really, but the pots are all in use ).

Behringer are a big company (see their manufacturing 'village' in China, it's big). With their clout they are going to become big players soon - yeah, some people will always turn up their nose in disgust (like some people still do with Numark), but if they want to pay over the odds for worse gear, let them! Brand snobbery sucks, and people who claim you can ONLY rock a club with Pioneer gear... well

Kudos to everyone on here for looking at the product, not the company. (sorry, have had so many slaggings on other posts today, it's great to come 'home' and see this response... not just a kneejeck 'Behringer=s**t'). I remember now why I do most of my posting here!

Keep up the good work y'all.

P.S. Now hopefully Gemini (yes, Gemini) can make their CDJ700 as they promised - they said it's supposed to be waay better than their previous stuff (they must know that they were getting a bad rep & could not let it continue). If so, it could be a great time coming up with cheap, but good gear (my favourite type) - I couldn't care less who builds it, I only care how well it works and how it holds up to the rigours of the road (as our free parties are pretty tough on gear !).

Thanks if you read this

So so so sweet. Where's nem0mic? I have plenty of questions for him :P

I really believe the CMD DC-1 should have banks on those pads. I hope you can set it up so the numbered buttons switch banks rather than send midi data themselves.

They sure are a step up from the BCD3000, as well.

My mind was completely blown away... by the pricing! Products look sick, but affordable too? Insane.

As i said in another thread, gimme the mixer and i'll put some infinium inside
Or gimme 4 of the one with the pads, and then i'd have a perfect 16x4 step sequencer with encoders to boots !

Cheers for the article. My VCI400 plans got binned today (Ean - you can take me off your VCI400 pre-order list! )

Imagining how to map these, and for once, I have TOO MANY controls - sweet, no more shift buttons or modifiers!

Going to be watching this thread with great interest.

nice long pitch faders on that studio 4a and 14bit too. decent control over 2 decks and 2 effects units plus hot cues anyway.

the prices are almost insanely good... hopefully they don't make the same mistake as A&H with the K2 and take ages to actually sell them...

indeed

having looked again i still believe the K2 would be a better fit for me to control eq/kills/levels/transport for 4 decks *but* it's going to come in at about 210gbp and MM-1 more like 150usd? hmmm... believe i might change my mind on the K2. they would have sold a heap more if they'd actually released it before this lot.

the PL-1 would be a great dnsc2000 alternative...

DVS-1 for 99usd!?!?!? could be awesome for effects control in traktor... tho so would the DC-1 for some hybrid of direct effect control and instant grat type pads...

not sure why the LC-1 is 150usd and not 100usd but still looks great.

edit: guess the multi color leds in the LC-1 pushes the price up with that one

yes! exactly what I was gonna type! 3 year warranty=big step up.
I'm definitely going to check out these controllers.. especially since there's more LEDs on the Mixer controller.
I hate how inaccurate the LEDs are on the Traktor S4..

Oh shitz, I'm getting really excited after seeing the skratchworx pics...

Their DJ controller looks like it'd kick the Ergo's ass.

The clip launcher looks AWESOME 2 of them paired up with the mixer I WANT !

The lineup looks really superbly "pro"

Prices are ridiculous!

and to top it all off !

The quality of the final units will be much better than you might expect. To underline this, Behringer have announced a new 3 year warranty on everything. That's a very welcome move that should build confidence in new Behringer.

wow... suddenly it's not just "k2 and/or new NI controller"... these are some really interesting alternatives. guess i'll be waiting to find out more about these before jumping on the k2 as soon as it's out now. they should probably have released the k2 a month ago

nice, I like Behringer products! Something you can buy cheap and if it breaks buy spilling a drink or getting knocked over at a gig not care so much. Glad to see them getting into the controller end of things again! DC-1 and LC-1 would make for a good Ableton controller..
