The following changes have been made to this file:

  • Fixed a bug where Fader FX would get stuck
  • Fixed a bug where Juggle would stick
  • Fixed a bug where the pitch would drop dramatically
  • Changed FX preset #4 to match the recent video.

Download the File here

Requirements
You must have Traktor 1.24 or later to use this file otherwise it will not import properly.

To Load this file
  • Select the BIG import button in the lower left hand corner of the preferences tab.
  • if this is your first time loading the TSI file, please load it 2 TIMES for the fx to load properly.
  • The 1rst and 2nd time you run Traktor after importing a TSi file, the controller may lock up. Just quit the program twice and see if the issue goes away.

What Settings to Load

• MIDI: Everyone
• EFFECTS: Everyone (please load this file twice if you are using it for the first time to load the FX properly)
• LAYOUT: Only if you want the layout to change when switching decks from A/B to C/D. To customize your own, modify the layouts in position 1 and 3.
• ALL OTHER SETTINGS: Import these if you want the Pitch fader to be set to 8%, and for deck copy to work perfectly.

Known Issues for VCI-100 owners with firmware Version 1.2

• The “D” button in the FX section will not work as indicated.
• In Fader FX mode, the level fader's will not “freeze” effects as in version 1.3.
• The Sync button for Decks A and C will not properly light up when synced.

Having Problems with the FX Route Button?

There is a file included that fixes this problem for windows users that are getting this glitch. The problem relates to Traktor's Midi engine and windows. To solve the problem we disabled the LED functions. You can use the FX route button to route the FX but the LEDs will not display.

Yes it works fine now, i must found it myself, sorry and, of course, thanks a lot.
This TSI is almost perfect for me too, but still testing...
specially some fx tricks that I can't understand for now
no problems in my last two sessions @ www.SunHole.Net.
I'm wondering about a TSI combining the VCI and the three buttons and the endless-rotary knob of the Audio Kontrol, leaving setted some features of the fader fx mode in oreder to use a external mixer. Does anyone of Audio Kontrol 1 users, or external mixer users thought about it?
Thanks again

the FX Type and Route FX buttons still produce crazy robots sounds and slow down the record ( is it a pitch bend bug ?) very anoing and not useable in a live set i believe ...

EDIT: Never mind i used the glitch fix works fine now ...

Can I suggest maybe having these features the other way round. So shift & play pauses and just play starts track from last cue. A modified TSI for this would be awesome.

You were right! When i load the regular tsi the fx buttons work as expected but the sound is terrible. Guess i stick to the "fx glitch fix tsi".

If you go into the tsi using the Controller Manager, scroll all the way to the R to the Comments section (you'll probably need to expand this to be able to read it) and sort by Comments. Then scroll down to where you'll find two lines whose comments state "ECHO set Rate to 55%". You will want to change the "Set to Value" for these two lines to whatever value you'd like.

As long as you remain sorted by comment, you could also change the default Feedback and Filter rates as well (they will be next to "ECHO set Rate"). Just remember to save your tsi under a different name if you make any changes in case you ever want to cross-reference the original tsi.

Good catch Mustache. This is a bug and I can definitely see how it could be very frustrating. However, the bug is fixable and will be eliminated in the next released update of the VCI-100 tsi (probably in a month or so).

For now, just know that this bug only affects Juggle Cues 1 & 5 so if you're fading out a sample and using Juggle cues to transition into something else, just don't use Cue Points 1/5.

Thanks for the input! If you find anything else buggy let us know so we can fix it for the next update.

You are correct that there is not a central dedicated Master Volume knob as of now. However, most ppl use the two Gain knobs for each Deck to control overall volume (in addition to the level faders).

As for sync, when you press the Sync button Traktor should attempt to Sync the current Deck (based on the Sync button you press) to whichever Deck is currently the "Master" (you will be able to tell which Deck this is by seeing the Master indicator in Traktor light up yellow).

Traktor crashed at a gig (house party) last evening . I was in a loop, cutting it down all the way to a 1/16 note and pressed play on the second deck (Deck A) while killing the sound on the deck that was playing (Deck B). But Traktor kept the B loop volume up and put Deck A into a 1/16 note jitter with no volume coming out of it. As it was incredibly annoying, I just quit Traktor after a couple of stabs at getting any response failed. I got some encouraging jeers and boos, but no damage done.

On reload it worked flawlessly for the next 3 or so hours.

Any thoughts?

Hi Dafe,

Yes I can recreate the problem in other software but I only started experiencing these glitches after I upgraded to the new TSI.

I was just curious as to why it only started to happen now. The affected files used to play fine before.

Anyway, I'll observe and see if the prob continues. Thanks.

Nothing major here. Much improved indeed. No freezes yet.

WOULD LOVE TO KNOW HOW U DID IT. We should have some open source sticky to see how you debugged this mapping. I'm sure there are lots of ppl out there who would love to know how u did it.

Hey,

Really enjoying my new Arcade VCI-100

Only problems i have encountered so far that i didnt see already mentioned here (only read through quickly, may have missed them!) include the midi overload problem, seems to be fixed with the alternative tsi file supplied though..
Also, if i sync deck A and move the jog wheel in scratch mode (disabling sync) i have to press the SYNC button twice to resync them (first press seems to do nothing)

There was also a time where the jog wheels were unresponsive, and didnt work again till i entered fader fx mode then exited it again. I didnt believe to see if the faders worked, and i have no idea how i could re-create it..

Other than that, really enjoying it

Hi all,

Been trying out the latest TSI the past few days and have some observations:

1. LEDs will not toggle on & off. Seems to occur after using Fader FX. This also happened in the last version TSI.

2. New prob: Pitch will sometimes speed up and down erratically.

3. Songs will sometimes "skip" like a CD.

4. I lost my settings for the Generic Keyboard TSI that I sometimes use in tandem with the VCI 100.

Anyone know how I can get it back?

FYI: running on Mac OSX 10.6.3, FW 1.3, Traktor 1.2.4

Anyone else with the same probs? Thanks

Got to test this out yesterday for a couple hours. Much improved! This has made me happy with my decision to go with a VCI SE.

I did manage to get my VCI to freeze up once when using the fader fx. I was getting kind of crazy with the fader fx, just for fun and I did manage to freeze the thing up, but it took a lot more effort to crash it than before. My glitchy fx assign noise is gone , but I am still getting a little popping sound with the shift button. Other than that, nearly perfect.

Is there a way of changing how Deck C & D are viewed after pressing the dedicated buttons. I want them to appear "Full" not "mini" and with ADV controls on and cover art off.

Also prefer the Play/Pause button as it was before when it played from last cue point once pressed.

Would appreciate any guidance in making these changes as I'm not that confident in tweaking the TSI if required.

Thanks

Found solution to changing How Deck C & D are viewed. Activate the button then go into deck details to change. changing the settings when Deck C or D button not active will not do anything.

All working well apart form glitchy pitch faders

They require frequent zeroing, by pressing shift and sliding the physical faders up and down. The graphical fader does not travel the full length on the screen.

Excellent otherwise

You're probably right; it just seems strange that those would be written on the overlay when they can be so easily changed. I use another effect set on bank 3 using a different midi controller so I don't always have beatslicer loaded there; it tripped me up the first time I discovered that the button didn't work the way it used to. Not a big deal, I can either change the mapping myself or just use it this way, but it seemed really odd to me that it wouldn't be set in the mapping when it seems like that button is definitely geared toward that effect.

I'm not talking about faderfx -- just the regular use of the buttons below the jog wheels, which are labeled "slice" and "echo" in the overlay. It can be fun using them with other effects, but my sense was that the mapping was supposed to reserve them for those two effects? Is this incorrect? Why are they labeled that way then? It's certainly not a show-stopper and perhaps I'll figure out how to fix it on my own, but it does seem to be a bug, at least in comparison to what the mapping is supposed to do.
