The following changes have been made to this file:

  • Fixed a bug where Fader FX would get stuck
  • Fixed a bug where Juggle would stick
  • Fixed a bug where the pitch would drop dramatically
  • Changed FX preset #4 to match the recent video.

Download the File here

Requirements
You must have Traktor 1.24 or later to use this file otherwise it will not import properly.

To Load this file
  • Select the BIG import button in the lower left hand corner of the preferences tab.
  • if this is your first time loading the TSI file, please load it 2 TIMES for the fx to load properly.
  • The 1rst and 2nd time you run Traktor after importing a TSi file, the controller may lock up. Just quit the program twice and see if the issue goes away.

What Settings to Load

• MIDI: Everyone
• EFFECTS: Everyone (please load this file twice if you are using it for the first time to load the FX properly)
• LAYOUT: Only if you want the layout to change when switching decks from A/B to C/D. To customize your own, modify the layouts in position 1 and 3.
• ALL OTHER SETTINGS: Import these if you want the Pitch fader to be set to 8%, and for deck copy to work perfectly.

Known Issues for VCI-100 owners with firmware Version 1.2

• The “D” button in the FX section will not work as indicated.
• In Fader FX mode, the level fader's will not “freeze” effects as in version 1.3.
• The Sync button for Decks A and C will not properly light up when synced.

Having Problems with the FX Route Button?

There is a file included that fixes this problem for windows users that are getting this glitch. The problem relates to Traktor's Midi engine and windows. To solve the problem we disabled the LED functions. You can use the FX route button to route the FX but the LEDs will not display.

How much do you want? If you want 16%, just open Preferences, click Transport in the left column and change the pitch range to 100% (it is at 50% by default in the TSI).

The way the TSI is set up, even though the Transport section's Pitch range says 50% it is the range assigned to the midi control that limits it to 8%. To see that, click Controller Manager in Preferences. Then select the VCI from the Device list. Now if you scroll through the mapping to the first instance of "Tempo" and click to highlight it, you will see in the lower part of the window, Rotary Sensitivity is set to 40%. You can change this to 100% and now the pitch fader will change the pitch 50% (if you still have it set to 50% in Transport). If you change the Rotary Sensitivity, you have to do it for all 4 of the "Tempo" in the mapping, as each one is for a different deck (A, B, C or D).

Is that any less confusing (or is it worse)?

Ask any part of the explanation you may not quite get and I'll try to explain better.

Phil.

There isn't a firm date set for this update yet, but I would anticipate it hopefully being sometime in the upcoming month. To be honest, our attention is mainly focused on midi fighters and a few other projects at the moment but I promise that the update will happen.

Also, if there any bugs or changes that you feel should be made that haven't been addressed yet in this thread, please let me know and I will add it to the list.

This is an interesting idea that will be explored before the next tsi update. I believe it can be done, so it is just a matter of testing it out. A lot of people find the sudden jump in volume bothersome so it would be nice to alleviate that issue. Thanks for the input!

It just seems asymmetrical. Are these correct?
Sorry for the late reply on this. As far as the flickering issues, I personally haven't experienced that with Sync and/or Loop Active, but then again I usually have the VCI-100 plugged in so I haven't had much opportunity to run into issues like those. I will take note of it though. Let me know if you figure out why this is happening.

As for the tsi asymmetry, it is all due to the firmware differences in the two Sync buttons (as I'm sure you are familiar). As you can see when the VCI-100 is plugged in but Traktor isn't open, the left sync button will toggle the led upon pressing it but the right sync does not. Dealing with this behavior resulted in the hold/toggle asymmetry for their Sync commands; however, Deck B has an LED output and a toggle command so the commands for A/C and B/D although different should be consistent.

Hey - I have a vci 100 firmware 1.3 just trying to load the 3 5 1 TSI file - everything loads except the actual mappings for the VCI100SE. The VCI100SE is added as a device but no buttons are assigned or listed for the device when selected. I have repeated the process but no luck.

The device works and has been successfully updated to firmware 1.3.

Does anyone have the TKS file (fx glitch fix) so that I can try and import that on its own?

Could my version of Traktor Pro also be a problem? I am using Traktor Pro 1.2.1

Thanks for any ideas.

thank you so far, but I should have added that the fader is only controling the dry/wet volume of the specific effect unit.
that means they are not controling the 2nd and 3rd effect in the chained effect mode as it sould in the tutorials.

sorry for keeping that and thanks for the help.

PS: it's a bit hard for me to upgrade firmware, because (as i already said) i live in germany and buying the upgrade kid from the USA and shipping it to germany would cost a lot of money. Can't afford that atm.

this is often misunderstood as a bug but it is how ean designed fader fx mode. this allows you to control the chained effect2 (or advanced effect parameter 2) using only the volume fader instead of having to also use the jog wheel.

however, this functionality can be removed in the tsi such that the volume/level fader only controls the effect2 parameters and not the overall fx dry/wet. since multiple people have asked about this in the past i will just explain how make this change (in case anyone wants to do it).

to remove this functionaltiy, you would need to go and edit the tsi via the controller manager, sort through comments, and delete the following lines:

  • delete the 2 "Dry/Wet Advanced" control lines commented "Fader FX Mode: FX 1 Dry/Wet control w/L Volume Fader" and "Fader FX Mode: FX 2 Dry/Wet control w/R Volume Fader"
    AND
  • delete the 2 "Dry/Wet Chained" control lines commented "Fader FX Mode: L Vol Fader to control FX1 Dry/Wet" and "Fader FX Mode: R Vol Fader to control FX2 Dry/Wet"

hey guys,
I just got my vci-100 from a regular shop in my country (germany) and downloaded the tsi file from DJTT. I imported the file and it works quite good, BUT the volume faders in fader fx mode also controle the dry/wet volume as the jog wheel does.

is it because i've got firmware 1.2 or because I missed this special part of installation in the last 2 hours I tried to fix it. And yeah I tried a lot of things.

Thanks for help

Sorry there haven't been as frequent updates about this. I have a list of minor bugs and changes to make which should hopefully address most of the lingering issues. I don't have a concrete date to push it out but it should be sooner than later.

Ok I dont know if this helps, but it looks like the 3.4 tsi (Glitch Fix) has no issues with the sync button, at least compared to the 3.5 I played around on 3-4 decks and it worked with few issues, turned off sync on play once or twice but, was fully responsive compared to 3.5, so I believe I'll stick to the old map until an update is available.
BTW the shift button and the juggle buttons produce pops and clicks etc (raising latency helps but I need it low for other programs) its a Windows or Traktor Pro issue as far as i have understood since Mac users seem to have no problems, is there any remedy for it?

I just noticed that the sides of the vci controller jogs actually control the pitch bend in both Slice and echo which is really frustrating as trhe unit doesnt always pick up on my pressing the top of the jog straight away thus often throwing the track out of sync when I make use of them any way to stop this from happening? Its actually more a hindrance than a boon in most cases, and also the sync button issue where you have to preess it repeatedly to get it to work... I dont remeber the 3.4 tsi having this problem going to try it out see if it occurs there too

The pitch faders are set to move +-8%. How much you see them move on screen is a function of the WAY the DJTT achieves the +-8%. What they have done is set the Pitch Range (in Transport) to 50% but set the range of the fader in the mapping to only 40% of that 50% (look up Tempo in the mapping).

If you want the screen to show full stroke, change the Tempo resolution to 100% and then set the Pitch Range in Transport to 8%.

I also have the same problem. I found that neither mouse nor the sync button worked 100% of the time. Sometimes they would work, sometimes not, and I couldn't detect a deterministic cause to the failure. I would hit the sync button, and the tempos would be matched, but I got caught off guard when the sync didn't stay engaged. Made my mix sound old school. For my application, this is not the end of the world but it is definitely annoying.

Other than that I have to mention that this new mapping RULES!!!! I was definitely frustrated by the lack of access to multiple effects knobs, and I believe the 4 efx unit aspect of 1.2x is also a big improvement. But overall I love this new mapping, I believe it's incredible, you've outdone yourselves.

the only thing I find a little hard to deal with is the EFX routing concept. I believe with practice I'll get used to it, but I kind of preferred the dedicated on/off buttons from the old layout. I don't really change my efx types that much so this feature isn't as useful to me. I'm still believeing about getting an X1 so I can just not have to toggle between banks.

Also question: how do I assign (using the mapping) knobs to efx unit 4? 3 is taken care of as the permanent sampler beat slicer. That is, I can toggle between efx 1 & 2, but there appears to be no way to access efx unit 4. do i need to do a customization? if so, i'd like to change the 3rd choice of the FX bank button to be unit 4 (instead of loops, i never use that function).

thanks photojojo, I must have watched this video 100 times in the last two days.

I grew tired of my VCI years ago, and have bought and used just about every midi controller under the sun. With all the change I always held a special place in my mind for the VCI and never really felt as comfortable on any other unit.

Now with firmware 1.3 and DJTT's TP .tsi for the VCI, I am in shock of how fun and amazing it is. I caused me to fall in love with the VCI all over again again.

This TSI is truely brilliant and somehow is easier to use then any 4 channel "layered" controller to date.

MAN ITS SOOOOO MUCH FUN....

I believe it works in the video because he's still in the loop. If you deactivate and get out of the loop you'll have to start a new loop or if the loop's stored you can hit the cue point it's assigned to go back to that and re-activate it then...I believe.

Yup, no problems there, I spend a lot of time beatgridding tunes, i have noticed however that the Traktor's clock tends to go a bit bonkers (loading a 126 bpm track, and when played it goes to e.g 138bpm, the tempo on the clock)
I've tried working under all the settings (manual, auto etc) no change except the obvious (have to set the master in manual)

but yeah all in all mousework on sync works better than the button itself.
its a real pain cos I'm trying to get a mix done where i use all four decks almost constantly, and one track out of sync buggers the whole set, sync wont stay pressed
