Deep House/Bass Music
Posted on: 01.02.2012 by Kelley Mendrick
Just wanted to get a rough idea on what people's thoughts on deep house and bass music are? SBTRKT, Pearson Sound, Disclosure, Boddika, Blawan, Maya Jane Coles, Eats Everything, Julio Bashmore, Mosca, Catz n Dogz...

Are these all artists popular with DJTT community members? I just wandered what the general feel for music here was!

P.S if you are into this kind of music leave some feedback on my quick 15minute mix! Thanks

Been trying to find songs like this, with that "bluesy" type sound to it.

The first FaltyDL is like a cross between Dark Garage and regular UKG. Love that song along with hard courage. FaltyDL's productions are always so unique.

@decon - I saw justin martin in NYC at a small club about 3 weeks ago. First time ever going to anything deep house/bass music related and holy shit... incredible. Loved the atmosphere, music and the crowd was different as well. For my first show in this genre, i'd say it can't get any better.

They use bass music as a separation from DNB. The way they deal with it is that if it's not DNB it's bass music. It could be trance and it would end up in Bass Music. But if you just listen to the samples real quick you'll have a heads up on the upcoming weeks releases. The release sheet comes out every Friday. I check it just to make sure I didn't miss any announcements.

Thanks for keeping the updates coming Shane Says The Release Sheet you linked to, is that Bass/Deep house only? Seems to me like it's a big bag of house music? :/

If you haven't picked up the new Koreless make sure you do. Koreless is amazing at creating songs without much bump but it's all so beautiful. And then there is the great Jacques Greene edit which is good for the dance floor.

Love this thread! So many good songs, ones I know and don't know!

Check out my two mixes on soundcloud, both are filled with tracks you guys would like, a couple have been mentioned on here. I'll post the track list to the newer one soon.

Lots of dirtybird tracks mixed in, you guys should check out their new summer release. They have another ep coming out soon, I got it already due to the fact I'm a dirtybird fan boy and subscribed to their www.drip.fm/bird house membership which gets me all their stuff a month in advance and a lot of classics, for only $10 bucks a month.

Single Deluxe Remix and Richard Scholtz VIP could be nice. Tough to tell with just a teaser.
Genre labels are annoying though. Don't know if you did that on purpose?

I picked up that sunklofree as well. I've got wun and tuu as well so now I just have to keep up with gettin the rest lol.

Recently Ive picked up a crap load of evening slugs vinyl. I picked up club constructions 1 and 3, south side remixes, Kahn & Neek's Percy, that new Jacques Greene, the new paleman, and some others I cant remember off the top of my head. Buying vinyl is much more enjoyable than digital downloads.

Ironically, a buddy of mine gave me that exact list to check out lol. Solid picks. I would have gotten them on vinyl but I mainly want LPs, although there are some great singles out there for a decent price.

St. Holdings is a distributor of a lot of music that I listen to. Check out their bass music release sheets for anything new. http://www.stholdings.co.uk/category/release-sheets/

Other than that I would just keep an eye on this thread. I don't want to reveal all of my sources... Sorry kids.

Shane (Or anyone else), recommend me some deep house vinyls if you can? Honestly I was never a fan until I started listening to everything on this thread, always thought it was kind of bland. But i'd like to expand my music, and i'm in a vinyl phase XD.

I almost believe we need a thread dedicated to dirtybird, so much good stuff on that label. Not sure if this one has posted or not, or if it even belongs in this thread, nice dirty bass line though and it's 140BPM so it's easy to mix:

agree, UK bass is a much mre exciting scene in my opion anyway, than that more 'pop' deep house. most of it is quite boring and far too cheesy.
