Deep House/Bass Music
Posted on: 01.02.2012 by Kelley Mendrick
Just wanted to get a rough idea on what people's thoughts on deep house and bass music are? SBTRKT, Pearson Sound, Disclosure, Boddika, Blawan, Maya Jane Coles, Eats Everything, Julio Bashmore, Mosca, Catz n Dogz...

Are these all artists popular with DJTT community members? I just wandered what the general feel for music here was!

P.S if you are into this kind of music leave some feedback on my quick 15minute mix! Thanks

Pachanga Boys... i love them!! Dark, dirty atmosphere... it's just keep on going!
Free one as well.

Check also the remixes they made for John 'Talabot - fin'

btw; Their album is just WOW...

Rebolledo's album 'Super Vato' was one of my favourite albums of 2011
And i believe the Pachanga boys album 'we are really sorry' is definitely going as one of my favourites for 2012.

glad i saw them perform this year!

No tunes to post ATM, but I went to NYC last evening to see J. Phlip. Second time seeing her it was amazing. Got to chat with her a bit afterwards and snagged a few pictures. Very down to earth and friendly. Hope everyone has a good rest of the weekend!

I'm not sure that it was the song that got the crowd going. It was just the vibe of the evening . Plus the chat is always a tough crowd.

What?! Gutted I missed that, hopefully the recording goes up. Didn't believe I could like Disclosure's Running remix any more than I already do but that VIP just smashes it.

Those Mak & Pasteman tunes are absolute fire. Picking up a copy of Sixty Four Zero by Animal Youth (Redlight & Mensah) today, been waiting an age for it to come out. Also Dusky-Calling Me is getting a release on School Records, Loefahs new label.
I really dont mean to be plugging but I do casual bass music posts on my blog, decaymusic.tumblr.com

anyone watch last evening s boiler room? Skream b2b Disclosure just turned to chaos, it was brilliant.

Viadrina - Luna (Coat of Arms remix) came across this last week and really enjoying it

Audiojack - Get Serious

Diamond Lights - Happiness (Light Year & Strip Steve's Deep Fried remix)

I've been just starting to try and explore this sound so thanks for the pointers in this thread.

Deep House is definitely more laid back. I'm digging Motor City Drum Ensemble lately and Solomun is putting out some good stuff. This is the kind of Deep House I associate with that Maceo Plex kind of sound.

And then there's even more laid back / spacey deep house which I can't provide too much insight into.

The deep house thread on Erol Alkan community s is probably worth a check out (it's a long thread): http://www.erolalkan.co.uk/community /sho....php?tid=45737
Good tunes, thank you!

If you like the music in this thread, you can post whatever you want. I don't care if it fits the dumb genre that kind of doesn't exist.

Missing an intro.
Kick needs to be louder.
Hi-hat needs adjustment.
Mixdown sounds muddy.

Overall the track doesn't hold my interest. Doesn't bring anything new to the table. But I can tell you it takes people some time to get where you are right now. Keep at it and you'll only get better.
