I dont dislike the song (actually like it a lot) and dont dislike Daft Punk but even with Nile Rodgers on the track it doesnt appear to be breaking any new ground. There is plenty of good/great disco/funk based house music out there and a lot of it already features Mr Rodgers in one shape or form.

Still as I said its a nice tune and hopefully the rest of the album lives upto expectations.

Personally, I don't take a hype machine as a reflection of the final product, because I understand it's just a marketing trick to earn a ton of dollar on release. I mean, look at some of the games released in recent times, like that Alien: Colonial Marines. Gigantic hype machine over a long awaited release, and my friend who works in GAME was all "It's going to be immense" and I pointed out that out of the numerous Alien franchise games, only two of them were worth playing, and I don't really hold out any hopes for this one. Lo and behold, it came out and I bet on the right horse, it received almost universally negative feedback.

My prior experiences dictate to me that I will enjoy this album, because I've liked all of Daft Punks previous efforts. But the possibility is there that this album might just end up being a Level 42 covering Kraftwerk album, and that would suck pretty hard.

Actually, that would kick ass pretty hard for me, but I can't believe of a better analogy that the general public would find negative.

Not quite; they CLAIM to stay away from the mainstream, but in doing so, become even more mainstream. They're the assholes you see wearing Beats around their neck, wearing Converse and probably own a couple of iDevices.

Nile Rodgers said they went backward to move forward. They take some disco elements but they are creating a whole new sound. They even said in a recent interview that it's like when Skrillex came on the scene. No one had his sound so he stood out. Now everyone has his sound.

I believe Daft Punk will create a sound that when you hear it you'll immediately believe it's them even if it's not. That's no "hipster".

Ah right, so the laws of DJTT according to makar are: don't express opinions about anything, and don't disagree with makar.

Roger that, I'll be sure to adjust my behaviour the moment I start caring.
