That's right Sarasin. Actually the dumplings can be steamed or fried. Potstickers are fried/sauted on the bottom and steamed on top, but they are all made the same to start with. The filling is pork and green onion with hoisin sauce a a few other things.

I love em too! Everytime I order Chinese food delivery it's on my order.

Congrats on the engagement Karlos!

And now back to our regularly scheduled programming........

A little sushi from a sushi party I threw last year.. There was a lot more that I didn't take pics of, like eel rolls, rainbow rolls, and a few rolls I made for those who didn't want raw fish. (like shrimp, cream cheese, and cucumber). Also made Gyozo (dumplings or pot stickers). I was so busy making sushi I barely had time to enjoy it. Next time I'm pre-making the rolls so I can relax.
Sorry pics were a little crappy because they were taken with an older iPhone.

Yes she's an amazing cook which is why my cooking skills are zero. I have no need to learn.
We have a deal:
I Drive - She Cooks.

I hate cooking and she hates driving so i pick her up from work each evening and she cooks dinner.

Win/Win.

They have a cutting device you can buy here in the US to make the blooming onion. I would rather just learn to cut it myself, but for those who want an ez way, it is available.
Nick Ross
19.10.2011
The hard part is the cutting of the onion.

After that, it's just a matter of flour batter, shake off the excess, egg, batter again and fry.

Took me 2 tries to get the onion cut...I guess once you do it a few times it gets easier.

Nice food porn Chilly! That brisket made my mouth water.

Karlos, I know I'm supposed to cover stuff and sometimes I still make my microwave look like that lol. BTW you can just put a small plate on top, as plastic wrap can melt unless it is microwave safe.

I LOOOOOVE tamales.
Charline Dye
18.10.2011
Mississippi Delta style tamales I made last month.......

Chicken, cheese and fresh salsa verde tamales I made toevening .....

It was my first time making fresh salsa verde, and it came out great!

There were many more tamales in both batches, as you make a lot at a time. Just freeze the extras and cook anytime you want a tamale. Lots of work, but worth it!
