Ok guys!

Here's the most stable and fully working map for the moment.

There were some problems and functionality issues with DJBalla's map so I started from scratch. The FX section is fine tuned to suit my needs so if someone wants it changed - just say so Loop section works as follows: Pressing "AUTO" sets auto loop, pressing "SET Cue" sets cue and loop in, pressing In/Out sets Loop Out I've set up the In/Out LED to indicate when the track is in loop.

Freezes and bugs now occur very rarely ;] If you experience something weird --> drop a line here ;]

So here it is! Enjoy!

New version available! See the end of the post 1.0 -- > Attachment 1934

- The Sync Button now flashes with the tempo of the track
- Minor improvements
- Fixed LEDs MIDI Range issue

New Stuff:

- Shift + Mic Pitch controls Effect 3
- Shift + Left Jog Wheel moves Up and Down through the track list
- Automix + Jogwheels - Controls Dry/Wet on effects! Cooler then you might believe ;]

Even More New Stuff (Ver. 1.1)

- added LED notification when track is in AUTO Loop

- AND FINALLY, after 5 hours of misery... the channel level meters It was a real mission to get them working!

- Minor changes

Cheers

P.S. Quite a messy post this is... I've been posting, reposting and editing it for days

Hmm... Well I did the following thing:

I mapped a modifier to the "REC" Button disabling the traditional X-Fader in Traktor and enabling one with a relative mode of operation. Played with the rotary acceleration and the sensitivity a bit and managed to achieve something pretty close to what we talked about, but it seems that the fader then goes out of calibration for some reason. When you center the Fader on the Spin it is positioned slightly to the left or right in the software, which is not good. I mean it is bearable if you just want to throw in some quick chops but it is still not what it should be.

I tested the Spin with Scratch Roulette a while back and the fader is indeed much too sensitive for that... We need to find a way for it to behave like a three-way switch rather than a fader. I'll do some research later toevening , it's beer time over here so I'm out!

Cheers mate!

No problem oldfashioned I understand, that's not a big issue for me to be honest.

The biggest issue I have is with the crossfader curve. If there is a way to make it on/off I would be a very happy man!

I already mapped the headphone volume to mic pitch a while back!

If you could get that crossfader to have a on/off cut I would be eternally grateful. I love the spin but If I can't get the crossfader to cut in I might have to send the device back.
The jog is only sending 2 different MIDI notes, which makes seamless tempo bending impossible (at least to me). I have managed to do it a while back but it caused weird skipping and other buggy stuff to occur...

You should also have in mind that we are currently using the jogs to:

go up/down through the list, on/off ; dry/wet control for effects and scratching so I really struggle to figure out a way to add tempo bend to the sides while keeping the TSI bug free and fully functional.

Have you tried the latest TSI? Is the pitch bend working when you press and hold the needle button? The one next to the headphone cue.

I'll see what I can do for more rapid crossfader response.

so what if we map it that if you click and hold the "needle" button you can pitch bend with the jogwheels and we you don't press anything you can use them for scratching...just an idea...

Then one last thing..can you please map the mic fx to act as headphone mix?

I'm so sorry to ask you so many things but I believe we can really improve this tool!

I was just wondering if someone could help/ I just got the Vestax spin and using this tsi thanks.

But I would like to know if someone could help me with the crossfader. I have the setting set to sharp cut in the preference but it still seems to have way too much fade for me. Does anyone know how I can get a really sharp cut with the settings?

sorry mate! sorry for my english...what i meant is that i can't figure out how to switch on and off the fx.

how can I turn on the fx n 2,3,4 of deck A and the fx n. 1,3,4 f deck B?

Please map the filter soon so we can use it 2nite!

Yes, I am planning to make a 1.2.4 version as soon as I finish with my exams

Enabling the VU meters is a tricky job, each LED should be mapped independently and specific LED values should be set for each LED in order for them to work accurately. I will map them for you, it will be easier. They are causing severe latency problems however Trust me you'll want them gone!

Here is a quick file I made to go with the current TSI, hope it helps, if you want any additional clarification - I'll be glad to help you!

or you might want to check if your routing is right. You should assign SPIN 3 and SPIN 4 outputs as the Monitoring Outputs in the audio settings.

If you can't preview with your headphones, check the mix (headphone) knob at the top of Traktor Pro. Make sure it's rotated as far as it will go counter-clockwise to the left. There's no actual knob for this function on the SPIN so you have to make sure the virtual knob is in the right position.

Oh I believe I might know why's that. Try going to Traktor's Preferences --> Effects --> under the Effects Unit Routing section set 4 FX Units. So that you now have 2 FX units per Deck Tell me if that helps!

Hey, oldfashioned. Thanks for the new mapping. I just took it for a test drive and can't seem to figure out how the advanced effects work. The chained effects is superb!!! I believe I followed your instructions correctly...while in FX mode, hit the Shift key once and then toggle each of the 3 effects via the EQ. While I did all that, the EQs don't seem to respond to any of the effects. Any thoughts?

Version 1.4

Vestax Spin by oldfashioned - Full MAP for Traktor 1.2.3 (ver. 1.4).tsi

I am now partially satisfied with how the FX section works!

# You have now 1 Chained FX Panel and 1 Advanced Effect Panel per deck.

# Pressing "SHIFT" once while in FX Mode disables UNIT 1 (Chained Effects) and enables (UNIT 2) Advanced Effects. You control Dry/Wet with the Jogs, and the 3 parameters with LOW/MID/HIGH (so prm 1 = LOW ; prm 2 = MID ; prm 3 = HIGH). To select the desired effect (in adv FX Mode) you can either use the GAIN fader (sliding it UP or DOWN runs through the effects list) OR for more accurate selection you can use the UP and DOWN buttons of the "nintendo cross" To EXIT Adv. FX Mode press shift once again. This would turn Chained FX On. To exit FX Mode all-together press AUTOMIX.

# While in Cue Mode pressing SHIFT + PLAY / SET CUE / CUP deletes cuepoints 1, 2 and 3 respectively

# Minor changes

Guess that's it for now! Enjoy and share feedback!!!

Well... it's really simple to tweak things to your own preference when they are already mapped, but... here's a TSI where the autoloop is set to 8 bars
