Vestax Spin Traktor 1.2.3 TSI Fully Working
Vestax Spin Traktor 1.2.3 TSI Fully Working Posted on: 14.01.2010 by Desire Kwiek Ok guys! Here's the most stable and fully working map for the moment. There were some problems and functionality issues with DJBalla's map so I started from scratch. The FX section is fine tuned to suit my needs so if someone wants it changed - just say so Loop section works as follows: Pressing "AUTO" sets auto loop, pressing "SET Cue" sets cue and loop in, pressing In/Out sets Loop Out I've set up the In/Out LED to indicate when the track is in loop. Freezes and bugs now occur very rarely ;] If you experience something weird --> drop a line here ;] So here it is! Enjoy! New version available! See the end of the post 1.0 -- > Attachment 1934 - The Sync Button now flashes with the tempo of the track - Minor improvements - Fixed LEDs MIDI Range issue New Stuff: - Shift + Mic Pitch controls Effect 3 - Shift + Left Jog Wheel moves Up and Down through the track list - Automix + Jogwheels - Controls Dry/Wet on effects! Cooler then you might believe ;] Even More New Stuff (Ver. 1.1) - added LED notification when track is in AUTO Loop - AND FINALLY, after 5 hours of misery... the channel level meters It was a real mission to get them working! - Minor changes Cheers P.S. Quite a messy post this is... I've been posting, reposting and editing it for days LATEST TSI Vestax Spin by oldfashioned - Full MAP for Traktor 1.2.3 (ver. 1.4.3).tsi | |

When you center the Fader on the Spin it is positioned slightly to the left or right in the software, which is not good. I mean it is bearable if you just want to throw in some quick chops but it is still not what it should be. |
Zelda Verna 19.02.2010 | Cool, another scratcher who knows why this is important. I do hope you can pull this off! Enjoy the beers! |
Desire Kwiek 18.02.2010 | I tested the Spin with Scratch Roulette a while back and the fader is indeed much too sensitive for that... We need to find a way for it to behave like a three-way switch rather than a fader. I'll do some research later toevening
, it's beer time over here so I'm out! Cheers mate! |
Zelda Verna 18.02.2010 | No problem oldfashioned I understand, that's not a big issue for me to be honest. The biggest issue I have is with the crossfader curve. If there is a way to make it on/off I would be a very happy man! |

Zelda Verna 18.02.2010 | Yes, the latest tsi is working well with the pitchbend but I would like it the old way where you don't have to press the needle button and just spin the outer wheel to change the pitchbend. If you could give me the values I could add them myself. I already mapped the headphone volume to mic pitch a while back! If you could get that crossfader to have a on/off cut I would be eternally grateful. I love the spin but If I can't get the crossfader to cut in I might have to send the device back. |

Zelda Verna 18.02.2010 | oldfashioned, I'm also having problems with the outer jogwheel not acting as a pitchbend. Also, do you know a way in which the crossfader could be configured to give a on off cut as the fast setting doesn't seem to cut in that fast. |

Zelda Verna 17.02.2010 | I was just wondering if someone could help/ I just got the Vestax spin and using this tsi thanks. But I would like to know if someone could help me with the crossfader. I have the setting set to sharp cut in the preference but it still seems to have way too much fade for me. Does anyone know how I can get a really sharp cut with the settings? |

Then one last thing..can you please map the mic fx to act as headphone mix? I'm so sorry to ask you so many things but I believe we can really improve this tool! |
Desire Kwiek 13.02.2010 | Ok lads, here's the one with the "gain" controls mapped as "Filter" in Advanced FX mode. @eddij: I believe I know what you mean. I got wrecked last evening so I'll get some sleep now and I'll post again in the noon! Vestax Spin by oldfashioned - Full MAP for Traktor 1.2.3 (ver. 1.4.2).tsi |
Florencio Strabala 12.02.2010 | sorry mate! sorry for my english...what i meant is that i can't figure out how to switch on and off the fx. like pushing the fx button I can only switch on the fx n. 1 on deck A and the fx 2 on deck B how can I turn on the fx n 2,3,4 of deck A and the fx n. 1,3,4 f deck B? Please map the filter soon so we can use it 2nite! cheers |

Florencio Strabala 10.02.2010 | He is right it's works well I've just to figure out how to choose the right effect...how can you activate effect 1,2,3,4 respectively in deck A and B? should be nice if in fx mode the gains could have the function of the filter..we already have the arrows to select the fx.. what do you believe? |

Here is a quick file I made to go with the current TSI, hope it helps, if you want any additional clarification - I'll be glad to help you! MAP.jpg |
Florencio Strabala 10.02.2010 | Hi, did you plan to make a version working with the 1.2.4? (I'm going to downgrade to be sure that I can use your great mapping) Can you please make a quick doc because I'm a bit lost with all these versions... (I mean a pdf like this: http://eks.fi/img/kuvapankki/image/t...rnal_Mixer.pdf) Finally can you tell me how to enable again the VU meters and the gain meters? thank you again for your hard work..you are tranforming this toll in a kind of pro tool! |
Kerrie Vallarta 05.02.2010 | thanks alot, thats exactly what it was, the way i was set up i could either hear sound from the speakers or the headphones but not both, and now it works, thanks again |

Tomasa Ralfs 05.02.2010 | If you can't preview with your headphones, check the mix (headphone) knob at the top of Traktor Pro. Make sure it's rotated as far as it will go counter-clockwise to the left. There's no actual knob for this function on the SPIN so you have to make sure the virtual knob is in the right position. |
Kerrie Vallarta 05.02.2010 | after importing the mappings for the vestax spin everything seems to be working great and i am glad because i have been looking for something like this for a long time now but the only problem i am having is there appears to be no sound coming from the headphones when plugged in, they are plugged directly into the spin.. any help would be great.. thanks.. |
Desire Kwiek 04.02.2010 | Oh I believe I might know why's that. Try going to Traktor's Preferences --> Effects --> under the Effects Unit Routing section set 4 FX Units. So that you now have 2 FX units per Deck Tell me if that helps! |
Harland Filipponi 03.02.2010 | Hey, oldfashioned. Thanks for the new mapping. I just took it for a test drive and can't seem to figure out how the advanced effects work. The chained effects is superb!!! I believe I followed your instructions correctly...while in FX mode, hit the Shift key once and then toggle each of the 3 effects via the EQ. While I did all that, the EQs don't seem to respond to any of the effects. Any thoughts? |
Desire Kwiek 03.02.2010 | Version 1.4 Vestax Spin by oldfashioned - Full MAP for Traktor 1.2.3 (ver. 1.4).tsi I am now partially satisfied with how the FX section works! # You have now 1 Chained FX Panel and 1 Advanced Effect Panel per deck. # Pressing "SHIFT" once while in FX Mode disables UNIT 1 (Chained Effects) and enables (UNIT 2) Advanced Effects. You control Dry/Wet with the Jogs, and the 3 parameters with LOW/MID/HIGH (so prm 1 = LOW ; prm 2 = MID ; prm 3 = HIGH). To select the desired effect (in adv FX Mode) you can either use the GAIN fader (sliding it UP or DOWN runs through the effects list) OR for more accurate selection you can use the UP and DOWN buttons of the "nintendo cross" To EXIT Adv. FX Mode press shift once again. This would turn Chained FX On. To exit FX Mode all-together press AUTOMIX. # While in Cue Mode pressing SHIFT + PLAY / SET CUE / CUP deletes cuepoints 1, 2 and 3 respectively # Minor changes Guess that's it for now! Enjoy and share feedback!!! |
Fallon Gustaf 02.02.2010 | thanks so much for the mapping. I |
Pearle Mantica 02.02.2010 | I will do mate. |
Desire Kwiek 02.02.2010 | Thanks mate! It will without a doubt run on a MAC! I am not sure about 1.2.4 though... perhaps you can try it out and share your experience... edit: I am currently remapping the FX Mode so if someone wants to share some ideas - go ahead ;] |
Pearle Mantica 02.02.2010 | HEy old fashioned, loving the work you are doing, Im wondering if this map will work with traktor 1.2.4, on a mac or if it will only work with a pc, ?? |
Tomasa Ralfs 01.02.2010 | Old Fashioned, Thanks for the new tsi! |
Desire Kwiek 01.02.2010 | Well... it's really simple to tweak things to your own preference when they are already mapped, but... here's a TSI where the autoloop is set to 8 bars Vestax Spin by oldfashioned - Full MAP for Traktor 1.2.3 (ver. 1.3.1).tsi |
Tomasa Ralfs 01.02.2010 | I asked this question and received no answer. When I press the autoloop button, it activates but goes to 32. Is it possible to activate autoloop w/o going to 32 counts automatically? |
