Any cool VCI 100 MK2 mapping?
Posted on: 27.05.2012 by Deon Arrabito
Hi djtt,

I just sold my apc 40 to get my new set up which are VCI 100mk2 + midi fighter 3d. While waiting for my 3d to arrive, I try to mess up a bit with stock mapping to get more control of VCI 100 mk2 in Traktor Pro 2. Does anyone has a fun mapping to use with? I'm trying to import S2 jog fx into my vci but it doesn't work at all because im kinda new into the mapping things. Thank you in advance DJTT community.

Here you go.

vci100mk2 jog fx.tsi

BTW, I just added select/set/store hot cue to 4 buttons below the jog wheel and didn't add the delete hot cute yet. We can do it lastly lol.

Maybe the problem is M4=0 on KEY LED output. Please attach map to see how it look at this moment.

at first it not work at all. but when i changed the activated button to Shift+filter the modifier no 6 changed to 1 when i hold down filter and back to 0 when I release it. Should I change to shift + filter instead?

Hm.. Lets try to set modifier 6 to:

Modifier conditions: ..empty.. ; M4=1
Type of controller: Button
Interaction mode: Hold
Set to value 1

Now delete second modifier 6

yeb, Key button LED lit up and data send led is flashing everytime

Ok got one question. Does LED on vci buttons lite up every time you press it by default (even without mapping imported)?

I would like to keep this shift+key idea if possible.

try to change to other button already but modifier 7 and 8 still 0. Or should we chage a way to activate Jog fx?
Deon Arrabito
28.05.2012
try it already. Every deck the modifier 4 and 5 are working but when i pressed Shift but the 6 and 7 still in 0 when i activate the jog fx. Or should I change the activate button to other button not KEY button?

As I never play with VCI100 mk2 can't say it for sure but I believe that deck switch A/C is sending different MIDI channels depending on which deck is selected.

Try switching between decks and turn jog FX mode on to all decks individually.

It was a joke, no worries. You can post it to DJTT mappings and I can post it to traktor freaks where the rest of my mappings are uploaded.

You are kidding me about modifiers 6 and 7 right? Those need to work man. Did you forgot to test it with shift+?
Deon Arrabito
28.05.2012
I just so exciting for this mapping man. It's my first mapping ever and not many ppl in my country do this so. I'm not gonna sell this mapping though and I will post this mapping dedicate to DJTT and you if you dont mind lol

only modifiers 4 and 5 are changing value from 0 to 1. 6 and 7 stay the same on 0
Kellie Myrum
28.05.2012
Easy man. Take your time. It's no rush like you gonna sell it right? lol

Hey, did you MIDI learn d/w commands I've add to mapping?

No need to enable all four FX units only to set unit 1 and unit 2 to group fx mode.

Oh, I have totally forgot, you can look at modifiers little windows in control manager to see when modifiers are active.

modifier window.jpg

While engage/disengage jog FX mode you can notice modifiers 6 and 7 are changing value from 0 to1!

sorry just got back from work

I have tried it already and it seem not working though it seem like nothing happen when i activated the jog fx mode. Do i have to set effect bank to 4 groups fx?

Here, I've add this:

d/w unit 1: M6=1
d/w unit 2: M7=1

You just assign it to crossfader and give it a shot. Make sure modifier 7 is set to right /key/ like at pic.

Hey, modifier 7 goes with other shift (right one) M5=1. You can attach mapping for me to take a look.

done modifier 6 and 7

However, when i try to map both loop rec dry/wet with crossfader, nothing has happen when i activate the jog fx. Or it's my bad mapping the wrong way for the loop rec map.

That was only example with d/w. You can map lets say loop rec d/w and assign it to crossfader (M6=1) just to see if jog FX is set properly (ou can delete it later). It should act like this, when jog FX is off only crossfader will correspond to the screen control while moving it on vci but with jog FX on crossfader and loop rec should move both. That mean it's set right and that's time for other side jog FX with M7.

Excellent! I guess that you have now learn how this shift button function and how you can forbid some commands from working while shift button is on hold.

Modifiers six and seven are next and those will be modifiers that you'll going to set for all jog FX controls some later. Right now we need to create a toggle modifiers for both key buttons like on the pic I posted earlier.

Add in modifier 6 with following setup.
Modifier conditions: M6=0 ; M4=1
Type of controller: Button
Interaction mode: Direct
Set to value: 1

Duplicate modifier 6 with following setup.
Modifier conditions: M6=1 ; M4=1
Type of controller: Button
Interaction mode: Direct
Set to value: 0

This conditions M6=0 and M6=1 "tell" to the button that it need to keep toggling every time it's press and M4=1 that it will toggle only while shift is on hold.

Now map any control, lets say dry/wet with modifier condition M6=1 to try out jog FX mode.

done. no nudging at all while pressing shift.

Ok, you need to do same thing as did for key commands. Find tempo bend (stepless) for all 4 decks, its all the way down in your mapping.

Tempo bend A; M4=0
Tempo bend B: M5=0
Tempo bend C: M4=0
Tempo bend D: M5=0

After adding this modifier conditions to all four of those check shift+nudge to all dacks.
Deon Arrabito

1. key button stay the same.
2. seem like it still nudging while holding shift though.

I will come to that later, first you need to add in other two modifiers from pic and assign those key buttons. But before that I got two very important questions for next steps:

1. While holding shift and pressing key does key button on screen stays the same? (it need to if everything's ok)
2 While holding shift and moving part of the jog wheel for nudge, does anything happen at all? (if not it will be ok because this way you'll be changing FX presets to both sides)

Ok following you so far. Please see the command I had put in.

Is it easy to put a blink led on key button so we will know when the jog fx has activate?

Once again, thank you so much to teach me and other who see this post on how to do a jog fx map!

Cool, next step is to add four more modifiers to existing mapping. Two on shift buttons and two more to both of the key's. There are modifiers from one to three already in there and we don't want to remove any so you need to keep adding from modifier 4 and so on. Check the pic to know where goes each.

VCI-100Mk.JPG

Here we go:

Add in modifier 4 with following setup.
Type of controller: Button
Interaction mode: Hold
Set to value: 1

Add in modifier 5 with same setup.
Type of controller: Button
Interaction mode: Hold
Set to value: 1

Now list trough mapping and find all KEY commands and set conditions as below so it will not work while shift is on hold, like I said before.
For deck A and C as modifier conditions set: M4=0
For deck B and D as modifier conditions set: M5=0

This is for now, I'll continue when this is done. Hope that you got the idea

sure thing man. That would be great for the community. I have attached a official mapping from vestax which i am currently using it no to this post. Vestax_VCIMK2_Final-Pro-DK-2.tsi

Why couldn't we do it from here? Isn't fast enough? Though this way some other guys could learn how to map jog FX mode to their controllers also. I guess there are many of them who are trying to accomplish this too.

Next you need to find which MIDI notes are both shift buttons and deck switches sending (post it) so I can take a look in to mapping and start from there.

You can also attach mapping that you use in reply.

่just finish reading some articles from digitaldjtips about mapping and it quite help me to remap the hot cue buttons in VCI 100MK2, so Im kinda ready to learn how to map a jog fx now Stewe lol. I decided to use a function Shift + Key button to activate Jog FX so what's next then? Can I have your facebook or email so we can get over this mapping really fast? Thanks in advance.

Ok, tell me when you finish your research so we can try to set modifiers for jog FX mode to work in order like at S2.
Deon Arrabito
27.05.2012
Thanks Stewe!
I will try to do some research toevening abt mapping all the things out. I would love the vci 100 mk2 can perform jog fx like other controller ean's did.

Factory smell still

You can still keep the function of key by adding shift's modifier number with value 0 to key "in" and "out" commands. This way, while shift is on hold key command become blocked until you release the shift again. Basically you need to dig default .tsi to find what modifiers are both of the shifts dedicated to.

I'm not sure about the tempo button thought I just got the unit 8 hrs ago lol. How about Shift + Key button cause it seem like i don't need to press key on controller.
Kellie Myrum
27.05.2012
It's not a problem I'm always glad to help when it comes to costume mappings and I really love the unit. As I can see from the picture of VCI 100 MK2 this tempo buttons are already assigned with shift+ to change FX sections on both sides to control different FX units. Can you confirm this?

Thanks for your fast reply Stewe,
So, if i would like to set modifier to be like shift + tempo bend button if would be like in the s2 right?
Moreover, please guide me on how would the script would be like? or i just import djtts2 mapping in traktor and write down the scrip?
Thanks again for your kindness

Hi oriyong.

First you need do decide in which way you want to set modifier to engage jog FX mode. It should be best to use /shift/ + some button just like DJTT kontrol S2 mapping.
