Duplicating the DJTT S2 mapping to control 4 decks. Posted on: 12.04.2012 by Daine Ziadeh Since i'm a guy that wouldn't use all of these effects, i'm believeing, is there a way i can use the Shift+Reset modifier in this mapping to engage Deck C and the other Shift+Reset modifier to engage Deck D with all of it's functions? It would be like the S4's Deck C button next to the jog wheel. Instead of the modifiers engaging all of this effects, it would simply swap to the corresponding deck according to which Shift+Reset button you pressed. And also a way to control the key of a song..i'm the type of guy that loves looping a bit, bringing it down to 1/16 and starting raising the key to add that rise effect. thanks alot! | |
Daine Ziadeh 25.04.2012 | Ill test the fixes tomorrow, and yes sample decks are working. |
Kellie Myrum 25.04.2012 | So, your saying shift+ units on (track/sample deck) feature is working properly? -No unload while browsing. fixed. -Key reduced 45% > 40% if ok? -Check loop set and size now, believe I got it. http://www.traktorbible.com/freaks/m...ew.aspx?id=417 |
Daine Ziadeh 25.04.2012 | Also there is a problem with the browsing knob, while on Deck A mode i turn it to browse and it unloads my track. |
Daine Ziadeh 25.04.2012 | Samples Working, but you know bringing samples deck in means adding a lot more shit like effect on for each sample, sample size, sample filters and all that? In my opinion you should only include the basic of samples. can you decrease the key knob more? Filter knob speed is perfect. There's still a problem with the loop size on deck D. I'm going to explain it better. Loop controls work perfectly when Deck A and B are active. When i switch to Deck C loop size / set doesn't work on Deck B. When i switch to Deck C and Deck D, loop controls work perfect. When i'm on Deck A and D loop size / set controls both Deck B and D at the same time. About the Reset button, i don't believe it's actually that hard? When i press reset tempo slider doesn't affect the tempo until i press reset again. If it isn't as easy as it seems, ignore this. |

That would be awesome! edit: Samples C and D: http://www.traktorbible.com/freaks/m...ew.aspx?id=417 |

Think I'll add second generic device to this mapping to make it even beter. You can eventually hold shift to reduce tempo fader position if needing for now. Will check that later... -Loop set and size D fix. -Loop IN/OUT move beck to M1=1 and M2=1 (same as shift) sensitivity increased 50% > 55% and it shouldn't effect pitch band now. Too much or ok? -Filter encoder original sensitivity by DJTT was 44% > 50% now. ok? -Key will not work when SHIFT, loop IN and OUT is hold (same modifier), but that's only temporarily, encoder sensitivity reduced 50% > 45%. ok? http://www.traktorbible.com/freaks/m...ew.aspx?id=417 |
Daine Ziadeh 24.04.2012 | and increase the speed of the filter knobs, they should be the current speed of the key knobs. |
Daine Ziadeh 24.04.2012 | Also if possible, reduce the speed of the key knobs and increase the speed of the jog wheel when on the loop in/loop out mode (just a tiny bit) |
Daine Ziadeh 24.04.2012 | Dude, found out 3 things. The loop ain't working on deck D unless deck C mode is active, by looping i mean active loop and loop size. on the default S2 mapping when you press tempo reset it returns the tempo bar to the default position (middle) and then moving the tempo fader won't affect it's position until you turn reset off. 3rd thing is that when you're doing the loop in/out movement with the jogwheel the tempo bend must not move, so tempo bend must be off when you press either IN or OUT and start moving the jogwheel. |
Daine Ziadeh 24.04.2012 | Nope, it doesn't turn off or on, if it's on and i press shift it stays on, same for the off. But if im holding shift and i press it, it will turn on (on the screen) but LED will stay off. That counts? also sample decks sounds amazing. |
Kellie Myrum 24.04.2012 | You can stay in last tsi or reset it in mapping if it's getting boring after time. About headphone Cue I know switching Deck Mode modifiers are working, that's OK but I was talking about SHIFT dude. Put it this way... Let's say deck A cue is on, and you press deck A shift. It should turn off cue LED(but only on controller screen stay the same, also as fx units 1/2) for the time it's held... So when you leave holding shift do lite LED appears again? Can't make it more simple... If you don't understand it does not matter, but that could be some more potential for additional commands to all deck modes, like for example track/sample switch for decks C and D. Because samples are still there in mapping and believeing of enable it if possible. |
Daine Ziadeh 24.04.2012 | Beat phase monitor working, it isn't really needed but it's a nice addition. i don't understand what you said about cues, but if you mean is that if Deck A has it off and Deck C has it on and i switch decks it will turn off or on depending on what the cue button state is, then it works. |
Kellie Myrum 24.04.2012 | Try beat phase monitor when in deck C and D mode mapped to samples A and B. http://www.traktorbible.com/freaks/m...ew.aspx?id=417 Also added shift=0 to Mmonitor Cue buttons. Within holding shift it switch off LED if lite, just like on Unit buttons 1 and 2 in same deck mode. If it does this will be great. |
Mariah Hegemann 23.04.2012 | Even better. I was really looking forward to this, as when I bought the S2, I wanted to map it to be essentially an updated VCI-100. Then I remembered I couldn't map. This is a godsend, thanks a ton. |

Thought this would be easier to make it on my own and give it for u to test than to give you step by step instructions how to do it, that could be loooong work... Anyways, hope that some other S2 users will find this mapping useful, fun and yes to make hell of a god mixes out of it You are very welcome man for all the testing Cheers |
Mariah Hegemann 23.04.2012 | Everything's been changed to Gate and it's still doing it. Curses. |
Daine Ziadeh 23.04.2012 | Go to the controller editor ( it's not in traktor it's a different program ) it should've installed when you installed traktor aswell. Open it up, if your kontrol S2 is plugged in, then that's the first thing that should appear click on every button and change the option to ''Gate''. |
Mariah Hegemann 23.04.2012 | Forgive my ignorance, but what do you mean by that? I'm a total mapping noob (too much vinyl :P) so I have no clue what I'm doing. |
Daine Ziadeh 23.04.2012 | It's you, it's working great. I've tested every bit of it, it works perfect, check out your controller mapping on the controller editor, set everything to gate. |
Mariah Hegemann 23.04.2012 | Perhaps it's just me, but my browse knob isn't acting right and hitting "play" while in deck C/D starts both tracks. Otherwise, this is a great mapping that I've been waiting for. Nice work. |
Daine Ziadeh 23.04.2012 | Tempo faders working great. The mapping is complete. You don't know how much i love you man, i really appreciate the time you've taken to complete this mapping for me, well not only for me, because i believe this will be download-raped by half the s2 users out there, trust me, this shit is great. Thanks a lot man, from here on it's just perfecting it ( adding super knobs and that shit ) but that's not necessary, thanks a bunch bro. |
Daine Ziadeh 23.04.2012 | there's a guy that manages that on youtube, but if it's nt posible leave it like that, i don't use fade in and fade out a lot, neither do i use load markers, but that's a nice thing to have ( the led outputs for each one individually ) and i will start using load markers. |

Daine Ziadeh 23.04.2012 | Loop size and set works on both decks. All cues working on both decks with the correct LED outputs, only 1 thing i'm wondering, does fade in(orange), fade out(orange), beatgrid marker(white), load marker(yellow) have led outputs? because on the mapping they don't, they don't either on deck A and B. |
Daine Ziadeh 23.04.2012 | you haven't mapped tempo faders or tempo reset buttons yet on none of the decks. |
Kellie Myrum 23.04.2012 | Loop size, set and hotcues deck C and D add. In last step I did map only one hotcue to see will LED work properly in M6=1 and M7=1(C and D modifiers). Try out cue loops(green) as well as hotcues(blue) should lite both colors each. http://www.traktorbible.com/freaks/m...ew.aspx?id=417 Didn't know that tempo faders and tempo reset buttons doesn't work. On which deck? |
Daine Ziadeh 22.04.2012 | Hotcues aren't working, the only that seems to be working is the first one. |
Daine Ziadeh 22.04.2012 | You're missing set loop and size with the right enconder ( next to the key ) i believe this will be the last function to map apart from hotcues, oh and the tempo fader and the reset button if possible |
Kellie Myrum 22.04.2012 | It finally works, yeah . I mapped one hotcue and shift+ delete it to deck C. If it works then I could map the rest of it. http://www.traktorbible.com/freaks/m...ew.aspx?id=417 |
Daine Ziadeh 22.04.2012 | Working great now. |
Kellie Myrum 22.04.2012 | I found one more command with this button (Unit 1 on A slayer) which is reset now, maybe that was the problem. Check the link. http://www.traktorbible.com/freaks/m...ew.aspx?id=417 |
