Gemini Cntrl-7 and Traktor Help......... Posted on: 18.05.2012 by Emily Avedian Hi does any one has a .tsi for the jog wheels to scratch its touch sen jogs i cant seem to mapped them. | |
Kellie Myrum 23.06.2012 | You got another C#-1 on right /BPM/ button. wtf man? |
Britany Abdill 23.06.2012 | Nop there is just a CD with Virtual Dj in the box and nothing on the gemini website |
Kellie Myrum 23.06.2012 | It can't be the same because software couldn't know which button did you press and it will hit both of hotcues at deck A=3 and deck B=1. Do you have some controller editor for your ctrl-7 installed along with driver? |
Britany Abdill 23.06.2012 | it's also C#-1 wha's wrong? |

Kellie Myrum 23.06.2012 | I'm about to map hotcues and for hotcue 3 on deck A you labeled /C#+1/ which doesn't exist in MIDI assignments list. Can you please check if this is right assign for this button? |
Britany Abdill 23.06.2012 | Oops i forgot to test both led together when i Shift with "folder out" and only one LED works i mean just "LOAD A" or LOAD B" but not together (the last headphone cue switched on) i hope i understood what you told me about those led But don't worry if LED's don't works it's just details |
Kellie Myrum 23.06.2012 | Ok then, I'll set same settings to deck B jog wheel, good to hear LED is working too. I missed to add tree expand/collapse to browser folders opening, will include it in next update |
Britany Abdill 23.06.2012 | It's good for the adjustement and ok for the LED too |

The moment you press this shift both LED's need to lite indicating those headphone cues are switched on in program. When you release shift, both LED's should shut down since this function work only with mixer shift related. Hopefully this got more sense to you now? ctrl-7.tsi |
Britany Abdill 23.06.2012 | Nice, let's change this scratch : -10% sensitivity and +20% for pitchband please and i don't know wich LED you are talking about :s |
Kellie Myrum 23.06.2012 | That's not problem at all. I've decreased sensitivity by 10% If there is need you can tell me to edit it on and on till we got it set to perfection (scratch and pitchband both). -Added LED output to headphone buttons. It should lite up (if on) while mixer shift is on hold. ctrl-7.tsi |
Britany Abdill 23.06.2012 | if you can make it a little bit slower i mean less sensitive it will be perfect |

Kellie Myrum 23.06.2012 | Ok, believe I'm done with mixer section. Just added few more things: -Deck load A and B -Headphone cue (mixer shift + deck load buttons) -EQ's kill (mixer shift + EQ knobs to kill, knob solo to disengage it) -I'll leave two buttons under vu meter clear for now Left jog wheel is mapped for scratch (top ofc) and pitchbend (by side). Not really sure will it work properly, give it a try... If it doesn't work you need to specify me what is the problem and I'll fix it. When we got good settings for it then I'll map it for deck B also. ctrl-7.tsi |
Britany Abdill 24.06.2012 | Okay, nice |
Kellie Myrum 23.06.2012 | Cool. I got some work to do right now and will come back with some more later. |
Britany Abdill 23.06.2012 | everything is perfect for the moment |
Kellie Myrum 23.06.2012 | I've started with mixer section with some additional features. -/FOLDER/ button is now mixer shift. Need check on LED lite while holding it! -Gain knob is now filter (gain control by holding mixer shift) -Browser knob scroll playlist (tree list by holding mixer shift) -Press browser knob to enter browser view (loading track to deck set view back) ctrl-7.tsi |
Britany Abdill 23.06.2012 | i checked again and everythings seems to be ok , my english is not good i'm sorry and i'm a beginner in mixing(that's why i bought gemini haha), i only got these gemini so i need 2 deck control i believe, i want to scratch and i don't believe i need headphones buttons. Don't worry i'm sure you got better idea than me so i let you choose what you believe is the best |
Kellie Myrum 23.06.2012 | Good job xhaze, I hope you have double check all assignments so there should be no issues later on. Now I need to know what style of mixing would it be the best to map it like ? -shift buttons! -2 deck or 4 deck control -scratch with or with out /scratch on/ button -button to toggle between play/pause and not separately -headphone buttons -standard looping (no in and out, just simple loop on/off switch and direct 4 beat loop instead) -how to handle control on effects since the leak of knobs -filter directly on gain knob (gain with shift on hold - just like DJTT S2 mapping) I got some ideas of my own too but I would like to hear what you believe of this first and if there is some of your requests on what features would you like to see in this mapping. |
Britany Abdill 23.06.2012 | I just finished i hope it's gonna be okay for you midi2.jpgmidimapfinal.jpg |
Kellie Myrum 23.06.2012 | Yes, it work now. You can finish it just like that, all good |
Britany Abdill 23.06.2012 | done working? |

Kellie Myrum 23.06.2012 | Something like this should do: CNTRL-7.JPG |
Kellie Myrum 23.06.2012 | It's really simple, you need to open controller manager where you will find "learn" button, click on it ant it should be highlighted. After enabling "learn" option every button that you press you'll see different MIDI node appears in manager (example #C1) same goes for knobs and encoders (example CC 001). Now just aplly all of this assignments next to controls on some ctrl-7 picture (find good resolution one) like in example of VCI-400 from above. |
Britany Abdill 23.06.2012 | thanks for your help, i'd like to create this diagram for you but i don't know how to do it, but i'm gonna try to map with your picture the only .tsi i found is here and a lot of things aren't assigned and don't work http://www.native-instruments.com/fo...d.php?t=151462 |
Kellie Myrum 23.06.2012 | I have seen a lot of people looking for ctrl-7 Traktor mapping. I'll be glad to create one but since I don't own this unit somebody need to create diagram with all button/fader/enc MIDI assignments so I could manually map it from my Traktor and then share it here to be tested. It should be something like this guy did for VCI-400. /https://picasaweb.google.com/106138614399333257998/Vci400#5710108538833567154/ Hope to see some feedback on this |
Britany Abdill 23.06.2012 | hi people i'm looking for the .tsi too please help ! thx |
Kellie Myrum 20.05.2012 | That should be like three commands jog touch, jog turn and scratch. Which of can't map? Attach your mapping in reply so I can check it out. |
