Gemini Cntrl-7 and Traktor Help.........
Gemini Cntrl-7 and Traktor Help......... Posted on: 18.05.2012 by Emily Avedian Hi does any one has a .tsi for the jog wheels to scratch its touch sen jogs i cant seem to mapped them. | |
Stephnie Schwenker 19.07.2012 | Ah the pic has shrunk. They are: Monitor Vol Adjust / In / Global / Direct / Ch01.CC.042 Monitor Mix Adjust / In / Global / Direct / Ch01.CC.040 Curve Adjust / In / Global / Direct / Ch01.CC031 |
Stephnie Schwenker 19.07.2012 | Hey Stewe, sorry for the lack of reply, my computer had died on me. All fixed now. First impressions are good. Basic functions are tight. My only grumble - and its minor - is that the low/mid/high knobs don't fully kill. Is it possible to tweak that? I've added a couple of my own bits. On the front panel (you can't see it on the pic above) are monitor headphone volume, monitor mix and X-Fader curve controls. Screenshot below if you want to add to your .tsi. monitor.jpg |

Stephnie Schwenker 05.07.2012 | Hey Stewe, Thanks for your efforts on this. I've seen the great work you've done here and on the NI community s. I've just bought the CNTRL-7 and want to use it with Traktor so if you're still working on this TSI, I may be able to help. Let me know. |
Britany Abdill 25.06.2012 | Thanks i finally bought American audio vsm4 it should works great! can't wait! |

Kellie Myrum 25.06.2012 | Can you please upload same picture of your crtl-7? But this time leave it clear for me to create a diagram of controls when the mapping is finished |
Kellie Myrum 25.06.2012 | You are wellcome I've added looping and search feature to decks A and B in to mapping. -/Loop In/- loop active on/off (working LED)? -/Loop out/- set direct 4 beat loop. -/Loop arrows/- loop size same as in VDJ. -/Search/- hold search button and twist jog wheel to search trough track. ctrl-7.tsi |
Britany Abdill 25.06.2012 | Nice Thanks you so much for everything you have done to help me! |
Kellie Myrum 25.06.2012 | Yes, you should probably switch to some controller with better integration with traktor. I'm still going to finish this mapping but without hotcues section and gonna leave few more buttons with duplicate MIDI notes clear. Some simple mapping should do for this unit. |
Britany Abdill 25.06.2012 | I'm so disappointed with this gemini controller, i'm gonna contact my seller send them back and may switch to American Audio VSM 4 who seems to works better on Traktor and everything |
Kellie Myrum 24.06.2012 | I did look for help about this multiple MIDI assignments on Digital DJ Tips community
and this is what I got as response: "Unfortunately I can't help as it's defined in VDJ with HID protocol, I can say that all buttons are on their own byte with no duplicates. Your probably better off contacting Gemini support directly as it may be a bug that requires a firmware update. You could also use midi-ox to get the raw midi data to see if the duplicate messages are on separate channels. Or run it through a HID-midi converter middleware program before reaching traktor." |
Britany Abdill 24.06.2012 | it was just for test i reload the .tsi |
Kellie Myrum 24.06.2012 | There are two errors. 1.Hotcue 3, deck A seem to be mapped to some fader/knob (CC.024). Remap it to hotcue 3 button! 2.At deck B you have mapped hotcue 1 and hotcue 2 to same button. Please be more careful. |
Britany Abdill 24.06.2012 | I'm not sure i've exactly done what you asked me here is a screenshot Sans titre.jpg |
Kellie Myrum 24.06.2012 | Have you try to map this hotcue1 directly with controller? Maybe it is only issue with displaying value but software read exact one? Just find hotcue1 (B) in the list and MIDI learn it with corresponding button. |
Britany Abdill 24.06.2012 | they use the same channel : Ch01.Note.C#-1, and same for the others by example Ch01.Note.E-1 |
Kellie Myrum 24.06.2012 | I got a random thought. Maybe your controller is sending same midi note (C#-1) on different channels by itself?? Open controller manager and click "learn", now press hotcue1 button on deck B and take a look at which MIDI channel is that button sending massage trough. Example: Ch 1.Note.C#-1 I need to know which "Ch" does it display in front of C#-1? |
Britany Abdill 23.06.2012 | I understand why nobody like gemini lol |
Kellie Myrum 23.06.2012 | Too bad... Like I said it's unlikely that will work. Mourning is smarter than the evening, maybe I'll got some better tomorrow. |
Britany Abdill 23.06.2012 | hot cue 1 on Deck B don't work : / |
Kellie Myrum 23.06.2012 | And when you press hotcue1 on deck B nothing should be happening on deck A. If this is the case here then I managed to overcome this stupid multiple labeled MIDI mappings. What about shift+hotcue to delete it from track? |
Britany Abdill 23.06.2012 | i believe i got it when i press hotcue 3 on deck A nothing happened on the deck B Is that what you want to know? Last try and i make a video |
Kellie Myrum 23.06.2012 | My question was simple: When pressing hotcue3 for deck A, does it effect for hotcue1 on deck B to play also, since those both share the same MIDI note C#-1? If I managed to overcome this with changing the MIDI channels then it shouldn't. Sorry but I can't formulate this question simple than this. If still have no clue what I'm talking about than making that video would be the best solution to proceed with mapping. |
Britany Abdill 23.06.2012 | Hotcues 1 2 3 on Deck A works good and Hot cues 1 in Deck is same assigment as Hotcue 3 in Deck A sorry i'm not sure i understood what you asked to me? |
Kellie Myrum 23.06.2012 | Sorry but that didn't help much. Im believeing of hotcue 1 on deck b that share same C#-1 assignment as hotcue 3 on deck A. Actually you need to give me input if all hotcues work at all? With out holding shifts! Shift is for deleting hotcues. |
Britany Abdill 23.06.2012 | When i hold hot cue 3 on desk A :screen1hotcue3.jpg i released it and then hold hot cue 1 screen1hotcue1.jpg |
Britany Abdill 23.06.2012 | i'm gonna upload screenshots and try to explain if it don't work i'll make a video |
Britany Abdill 23.06.2012 | Maybe i'm wrong it don't work fine lol |

Kellie Myrum 23.06.2012 | No you don't understand I'm not changing assignments, can't do that. I've just placed same assignments to different channels. Just hit hotcue3 on deck A and look if hotcue1 respons to same button press??? |
Kellie Myrum 23.06.2012 | I have mapped deck A shift to left /scratch/ button and deck B shift to right /scratch/ button. -Added hotcues to both decks with different MIDI channels for double mapings... Hope it work ctrl-7.tsi |
Britany Abdill 23.06.2012 | Okay Thanks you i'm gonna check again if something change Edit: same lol |
Kellie Myrum 23.06.2012 | Same with E4 bro! Can't believe that gemini have failed on this... I can try to set it all to different MIDI channels. It is a unlikely it should work but that's only thing that comes to my mind right now. Give me a sec. |
Britany Abdill 23.06.2012 | is there any solutions? |
Kellie Myrum 23.06.2012 | Again, there are double G#0 (left BPM and hotcue 1) and E-1 (left effect selector and right button 2 under the vu meter) ... |
Britany Abdill 23.06.2012 | I agree.. WTF |
Kellie Myrum 23.06.2012 | And on mixer shift button also! lol |
