Denon MC3000 custom mapping available
Posted on: 18.09.2012 by James Beling
I've just remapped the MC3000 for Traktor Pro 2.5.1 and it's available here:

http://maps.djranking s.com/mappings/741

Mapping features:

- 4 fx units including fx assign, mode select and effect type.
- 4 smart knobs per deck.
- 2 banks of smart buttons for beat mashing per deck.
- Hotcues in play or stutter mode.
- Remix slot parameters.
- Beatgridding tools.
- Browsing controls.
- Snap, Quantize, Record and Crossfader controls.
- Layout and resizing options.
- Good LED feedback.
- Disco mode!!

There are several banks of fx and button mashing controls that haven't been assigned yet. I'm hoping other users might get involved in developing and improving the mapping by adding further effects and features.

It's included in my mapping, but you might need to set it up. Go to Preferences>Decks Layout>Deck Layout and set Size A & B to Advanced. Close Preferences, and on the Advanced Tab of your tracks, select Move (it's above Cue and Grid). To the right, there's a dropdown box - select BeatJump. To the right you can set the Beatjump value. If you set it to "Loop" then the current loop length will set the amount. To trigger BeatJump, press "Shift + Loop +/-".
That's fantastic, thank you very much. I would've never figured that out. Looks like I can use your mapping permanently now.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or simply user error because I only got my mc3000 last week but I've noticed that with the normal mapping I can move 32 beats by pressing shift and + or -. Whereas if I try moving through the track with your mapping (by pressing shift and the pitch bend buttons instead of the loop buttons?) I move forward by about 31.25 beats instead.

I use this feature quite a lot when I'm preparing tracks so I find it quite useful and just wondered if you had any idea why it's doing this. I've tried reinstalling traktor etc already.

Thanks for the great mapping file as well. Your videos were basically the reason I bought the mc3000.

Hey guys, I am new to the community and to dj'ng in general. I recently purchased the Denon mc3000 after my entry controller failed. I was trying to get the mc3000 to work with Traktor and have downloaded several mappings (some from traktor bible, some from various other places). I have been able to import them and for the most part they will work just fine with the controller. However, every mapper I have downloaded has not been able to make the FX knobs to work in Traktor. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I may be doing wrong?

Just kidding! Got it to work! Had to press the sample button.

Hey Racotek, could I get some help?

For some reason none of my FX knobs work. I have the normal TSI imported.

Is it possible that you've only added 1 hotcue to the track? If you've already added 4 hotcues to the track, you should get 4 lights.

This should be possible by holding down shift while turning dry/wet.

There's a row of 4 small circular grey buttons in the center of the controller. EFX is 2nd from the right between SAMPLE and RECORD.

FX ON 1 & 2 are the small white square buttons in a row between the high EQ knobs. There are 2 for each deck, and they are labelled 1 and 2. Normally they are used for assigning FX units to the decks.

This is gonna be a really dumb question.... running traktor 2.6 with the mc3000 and reading the instruction I need to press EFX + FX on 1 to reset FX unit but I cannot find these two buttons? The EFX button is suppose to be use for other things too like Flux mode, where is it?

I got the idea of a Builder mapping from one of Scamo's posts, so I've added it to this mapping. The Builder is basically the same mapping but the Macro/Smart FX banks and the Smart Buttons banks are empty. Should be easier to personalize now:

Which software do you use for video editing?

More vid... PLAY MODE contains a few extra features, like Beat Grid Tools, so you don't need to use your laptop. Plus I've re-mapped the volume meter LEDs to give a cleaner output.

Ha! Ok. I've been working on another vid so I haven't managed/had time to figure this out yet, but in the process I've thought of a few other ideas for fx mapping that I'm gonna build into the next version of this mapping. Thanks for the ideas!

Hey Ray, that's not what I meant. In fact that can't be practical because ether way one of smart knob commands always stays on. That's why I use modifiers, to control when is every effect switching on/off.

Thanks I noticed a couple of other mappings for SC2000 over at Traktor Bible. Don't know how good they are though.

You did a good thing, Super knob is a bit more smart. How I managed to have it on my bcd is by using one or two modifiers regard to how much control do I need and that's only the base. From there I can give on/off modifier condition to other fader FX for example.

Half of the knob is M1=0 and from middle and to end of second half of knob is M1=7. That gives you two different modifier conditions to combine with commands you wanna map to that knob in effective way.

Modifier value goes to 7 exactly in the center decent so that means you don't have off state in one direction but in other have - M1=0. Here comes other modifier that must be mapped inverted in regard to first one.
