Posted on: 17.11.2009 by Humberto Partis Hi everyone!So, this awesomeness midicontroller has landed to the earth, and some of you already know the name of it, Vestax Spin DJ Controller! Anyways, I got some questions! Some people on DJTT already got it, I saw some comments on the "news" thingy about the controller, and I was wondering, can someone make a review? Video reviews? Some samples? And I got this question about the controller in general! I'm heading to the states in about 38 days, i'm going to stay there for.. 5 weeks! And, already the Spin Controller has been sold out in apple store (shipping in 2-3 weeks)! AND the bad thingy is that - when i'm getting there, the christmas weekend has started and i'm guessing that it's going to be sold out kind of quick ANYWHO, what do you believe about the problem i'll got there? Can I order it when im in the states, and be KNOWING that 2-3 weeks it's on my cousins doorstep? because, sometimes (so i heard) apple can ship stuff after, like.. 4-5 weeks when it says 2-3 weeks I'll hope this thread can be like a "official" Vestax Spin DJ Controller! | Leo Lewis 05.05.2010 | Cirrus Logic DAC included into any NI Audio 2/4/8 have a really good sound and it can be used in big club, the cheap soundcard inside Spin have "another" sound and it's good for friends party or disco pub but please remember the cost of a Spin (Controller + Audio card) is cheaper then a NI audio 4 (audio card only). |

| Hermine Lally 19.01.2010 | Thank god I waited... Now that Typhoon has been announced, we'll get an official TP mapping and Windows asio driver from Vestax. This also means that they'll be wider distribution so not shortages and inflated prices. Plus, the prices for a second hand Spin is surely going to plummet. I'm believeing about $175 average. |

There seems to be some kind of "MIDI IN/OUT clashing" (as read on Traktor community s), causing spin to freeze and stop sending midi signals to Traktor. Weird thing is that this happens a lot while using Play, Cue, Sync... If you press play with your mouse within traktor though the controller UNFREEZES ;/ I'm stuck with mapping the volume meters next to the gain sliders... Are they midi programmable? |

First serious post here so... quick intro: been producing music for 5-6 years mainly (instrumental hardcore / melo-hardcore, metal of almost all kinds... hard stuff!), got into minimal, then got into drum and bass, now I produce a little bit of dubstep! DJing is not my main thing but I surely love doing it and in the end of the day... that's all that matters! Long story short... I will buy Spin ... It surely has A LOT of potential! (I am on Win 7 x64 so the thing is SURELY not for me but still... I love it! Or at least I hope I will...) So as soon as I have here it I'll help with whatever I can to fully map the device I have some experience with midi mapping! P.S. Spin owners... Is the device worth it? Would it live up to the hype? Do you believe there's chances for FULL functionality on PCs? --> this doesn't matter any more actually... I'm expecting it any minute now... I'm kinda' nervous! Cheers and see you around! | Melodi Yrigoyen 31.12.2009 | Hello everyone! I have figured out the most important part of the mapping, the scratching, and i have made it to work. I am now officially releasing Vestax Spin Mapping 1.0 haha because there might be still a few errors but mostly everything works. Note a few things, i have changed EQ Low to filter because i use that more but heres what ill do, if you dont like any of the following changes i will change them to your liking, so just message me. I also changed the + and - on both sides to choosing the how much beats it plays when it loops, so if you press + it will play 2,4,8 and so on and - will subtract. The fx button on the left side turn on the #1 fx on both sides, and the fx button on the right side will turn on the #2 fx on both sides. The mic fx knob will change the 1st fx levels i guess you can say for fx #1 and the mic pitch knob will change the fx levels for fx #2. The headphones buttons are not working yet, but if you know how to map it so it cues with the headphones please tell me, i will fix it up then and release a new version hopefully with lights this time! I hope everyone enjoys this release so please download and if you download please reply and just say thx or something haha. Like i said, if you dont like any of the buttons i will change them for you and give back your custom version for free |

I don't own a controller, so I believe I can't import the TSI and have any idea of what's important… I'm really trying to decide if I should og for a VCI-100 to do the whole effects, and beat juggling thing…or if I can skimp and do it on a Spin. |

If it's 1.2.2, you'll need to update to 1.2.3 for this .tsi to work...at least that was my experience when I tried to import with 1.2.2. I'm assuming that once you import the file, you see nothing under the mappings? If so, that was my experience too with 1.2.2. |
