Xone: DB2 Thread

I believe it might be time for me to ditch my NI Kontrollers and get back to my Xonetacular heritage.

I wonder how much a DB4 and two K2s will set me back. This thing look perfect.

Yeah that means both hopefully. I believe (personal opinion) there maybe a rebelieve on certification on the DB series.

I like this, but I believe I'll be changing my djm 700, to db4 next year. Either that or a djm 900. I'm torn...

haha yeh, it would be in place of the 800 of course. I have an old 600 lying around as well so if I sold them both I'd be getting close to the price of a DB2.

wonder how the X-link will work...maybe you can change stuff like the EQ mode via K2? or even looping controlled by the K2 (doubt that one )...

get a chance to try out the db4 your jaw would drop. try the db4 first you will know what i mean after getting your hands on it. there is so much you can do within a single mixer that you would never want to touch traktor's effects ever again. the on board effects makes traktor effects soooo far fetched. studio quality effects. and everything sounds so warm. the ecstatics on the db4 is beyond words. on top of that you do effects layers after activating the looper and etc etc there is so much within a single unit.

looking at the features perpective on the db2 i'd rather wait longer and save a bit more and get the db4 plus id still keep my x'1s for the reason that if im using traktor i'd still want the x'1s in hid mode and plus the x'1s in midi mode. for me after trying out the db4, i'd rather use the effects and the looper on the db4 but at the same time i would still get instant grafitication in midi mode still on the x1's. but then again what i heard from my local xone supplier the k2 is meant for the effects section on the db4 or the db2 with the x-link i might be wrong.

I'm going to need this mixer in my life, very soon!

I was contemplating the djm-900 as an upgrade from my 800, but this is amazing!

Db4 is too much money to spend just for home use, db2 is perfect!

Damn though, the looper is one of the things that has me sold on the DB4, but is it worth $1500 just for that feature? hehe
I don't know about that, but I know I won't be buying a db2 because it doesn't have the dual Xone filter units like the 92, 62, 3D, 4D, and now db4. At least the 42 got one of them, none on the db2 makes me sad. That's a big thing that makes a xone mixer a xone mixer.

One question for DB4 users: can you combine effects on one channel, or are the effects banks exclusive to the channel? On this unit it looks like there are no combos -- if the switch is set to X you're using the X effect, and if it's set to Y you're using the Y effect and that's it....

Hehehe one more edit ... 999 GBP is actually 1560 USD ... still cheaper than I thought this would be but it's not quite the deal it looked like.

Stupid falling American dollar....

Yes and I believe that 2 FX sections are good enough for me! Plus I only use MIDI and sometimes SL-1200's in combination with Traktor, and I'm going to use a X1 next to it.. So even more FX . Maybe in the future a K2, it certainly looks nice!

No idea on EQ mode. No looper on it- time is probably just an FX parameter i.e. delay time.

Very 42esque

same design idea

Hmmm, if anything it just makes me want to save for a DB4 more, let's just hope they both get scratch certified. It comes down to your philosophy of use, the db2 will be perfect for some but for me it is lacking.

Agreed there, and as a DB4 owner I'm glad they did (though those meters really look silly). Either way, hope this is priced as reasonably as the 42 is to the 92 to get more people into the DB features.

I just came.

Was just tossing up between the djm 900 and the db4

But if the price is right I am holding out for this.
