Estefana Musfeldt 09.08.2011 | They may be taking advantage, but i believe this is anger that has boiled over on the streets of some of the most deprived area's for the last ten year's, nick clegg predicted this back in April, this might as well be a carbon copy of the 80's, a mixture of anger and criminality did drive those riots as well, granted the ratio would have been a reverse of what is happening this week. But there will be people out there who have worked hard at school/college with the promise of scholarship or help with uni fee's taken away from them, and apprenticeships few and far between, dole and housing benefit cut or taken away entirely, living on the streets of London after having the hopes of coming here for a better life shattered. It is a Total disgrace but there should be better procedures for the police to deal with this kind of violence, better support and senior officers on the ground helping the Pc's to quell these public order offense's. Then there is the cost of all this, we will be bankrupt within 6 months the amount it will cost to prosecute all of the looters/rioters "all of the cells in London are full" a quote from the met, how can they cope with this after cuts they have had over the last year. Stop the world i wanna get off! if you really believe about all this and it's backlash,I have an overwhelming feeling of dread looming over Britain that i have never felt before, my thoughts go out to everyone effected. There is no quick solution to this. it's now part of our history and that makes me weep for humanity |
Hang Postman 09.08.2011 | And Look at this http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2011...k-london-riots Its affect the music industry also, some good labels on their |
Tatum Ansaldo 09.08.2011 | So... it looks like Iran want to get involved. But have no fucking clue what's going on, or a twisted way of seeing it. http://www.presstv.ir/detail/193030.html And the dude's hair looks like it was badly photoshopped on afterwards.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast urged the British government to order the police to stop their violent confrontation with the people, IRNA reported in the early hours of Tuesday.
Mehmanparast asked the British government to start dialogue with the protesters and to listen to their demands in order to calm the situation down. |
Maisie Marras 09.08.2011 | kids these days stealing TVs by them selves why, back in my day we had to get 5 people to carry one of the big screen monsters. |
Lacey Mecum 09.08.2011 | Fingers crossed i believe we have had the peak and should start to come back down to reality. I know theres heat of the moment but theres also this thing called a brain! Must calm down making me shake my fists like an old man *mumbles and grrrr's* |
09.08.2011 | looting combined with stupid random destruction is truly a disgrace... as for the sheer rioting, well I guess you reap what you sow - the UK government has been fucking with the population for way too long. it's just very disappointing that people chose to abandon peaceful disobedience for the sake of violence |
Tatum Ansaldo 09.08.2011 | I guess you see people running around, stealing jewellery and TVs and not being stopped by the police then you'd be tempted to join in. I don't believe they're believeing far enough into the future to realise they're committing serious crimes and are likely to be caught. |
Lacey Mecum 09.08.2011 | Yea just saw that, i dont understand the mentality of kids theses days im only 24 ok i settled down early with a family etc but wtf are parents doing or not doing :/ the vast majority of these "looters" are like 13 - 19 years old, ok as a kid you get into some trouble and maybe drink underage or whatever but what posses them to believe its a good idea and not realise they will be caught :/ |
Tatum Ansaldo 09.08.2011 | The manager of the Manchester Bang & Olufsen store was just on BBC news, apparently they have NO stock left, it's all either gone or smashed. That is gna be one hefty insurance claim. My vote for the next edition of Call of Duty: Replace zombie mode with looter massacre mode. |
nayit ruiz jaramillo 09.08.2011 | They just burnt out the store that my girlfriend worked at when she was younger. Stay Safe Tonite Manchester . |
Kristopher Salta 09.08.2011 | Great. Now the prisons are full! I believe that they should use water cannons with an identifying UV dye or something, that doesn't wash off. In following weeks police should go round scanning people and arrest those who were sprayed. Also, bring on those rubber bullets! |
Paulette Stolhand 09.08.2011 | sounds like how Liverpool is anyway.... |
Kassandra Guthmiller 09.08.2011 | In Liverpool, Bold Street has been locked down, shops have closed and restaurants have now been boarded up |
Paulette Stolhand 09.08.2011 | kickin off in Manchester now, apparently quite badly, no travel in or out of city centre allowed now. |
Matt Kane 10.08.2011 | having my best buddy eric in my prayers toevening ! he |

Lacey Mecum 09.08.2011 | My mate just had a fwd'ed message from facebook of a copy of a BBM message saying toevening in Watford High Street 8pm, that's my home town :/ other people getting sent home now from business up road! only live like 2 mins down road :s and apparently already mass police presence in the big park near by on standby! |
Roselee Jasnoch 09.08.2011 | I don't believe people really seem to have an excuse. I know there isn't allot of love for the goverment at the moment, and I know there is allot of unemployment (got a scary amount of friends on the dole at the moment), but I believe people are just using what happened as an excuse to go around looting. |

Tatum Ansaldo 09.08.2011 | No one's exactly sure what happened at that shooting yet. A police officer was injured and Mark Duggan was killed, some guns were fired somewhere in the process. It's not clear who shot who, how and when. But as Bradcee said, it's irrelevant now. It's just rioting for the sake of it. |
Evelia Mcgaffin 09.08.2011 | Yeah, what a mess they've got there... A movie I highly recommend watching, Harry Brown, deals with the really fucked up underground crime in London.
