CDJ and Turntable Subforums here? Posted on: 02.11.2011 by Halley Wurzer Granted, I am not some guy that has been here since the beginning, and mostly DJ with my S4.......but.....would it not help more than hinder this community
to have these? I like and appreciate the online community here, check the community
multiple times a day, and learn a lot. Yes this topic is partially triggered by the recent absence of DJForums, and I realize the roots of DJTT, but how could it hurt to expand and broaden just a little? It would really help fill some "online community
gaps" for a lot of DJ's. It seems that DJTT has been solid, reliable, and growing, and a great platform for expansion. In the real world, the lines between DJ mediums are blending, having a reliable online community that serves a majority of DJ's could really act as a catalyst for the acceptance of newer technology alongside more traditional mediums. Obviously this is just my opinion, I don't know managements goals or future intended direction, or costs and time that would be associate with such a change, but feel that some thought should be given to creating these. Again, nothing but respect and appreciation for what Ean and team have done! Just an idea.... | |
Latoria Kavulich 03.11.2011 | Maybe even remove the "Digital" from the title might do it yes? |

Latoria Kavulich 02.11.2011 | A lot of the Vinyl and CDJ related discussions can be in the general community but if there's enough demand for a sub community we can certainly look into it. |
Halley Wurzer 02.11.2011 | I believe a TT/CDJ sub-community
on DJTT would serve more as a place to welcome users of those mediums that might not necessarily be controllerists as well. It would just be a community
section where users of TTs/CDJs (including those that use them in conjunction with controllers) could post specifically about that aspect of their gear
in a place (DJTT) that has a controllerism roots, thus promoting convergence, understanding, and acceptance of controllerism. ^I don't know if that run-on sentence makes any sense hahaha. Another thing that got me believeing about this is the local TT/CDJ DJ's that I work with. It would be cool for them to join this community and gain more of an understanding of controllerism, and using controllers in conjunction with their set up. They aren't going to join though unless there is people talking about ttm-57s and 1200s. Edit: Pretty much what Xone said. |
Romelia Stankard 02.11.2011 | I say go for it, I would love to see a community dedicated to cdjs and vinyl and I hope it would bring a wider audience here. I believe having a separate community would encourage a wider audience to join instead of some people just assuming we are all a bunch of button mashing efx whores. |
nayit ruiz jaramillo 02.11.2011 | I see no problem with a dedicated TT/CDJ community
. I believe it might be harder to differentiate between TT/CDJ users and controllerists though because the majority if TT/CDJ users on DJTT use them inconjunction with controllers of one sort or another (generalisation, i know) so i dont believe you would get a pure TT/CDJ community
unless as Onimode says, we get a lot of that kind of traffic. Dunno, im undecided but its an interesting idea. |
Kayce Mesia 02.11.2011 | I don't see the problem with posting topics about CDJs and TTs in the "General Discussion" subcommunity
, but I see your point. This could increase the amount of activity we see here and organize it better. (Is still waiting for that rumored Ableton subcommunity . :C) |
