Go to the NI site, login in on the upper right, it changes to my account, click that and select updates. What do you see?

Everybody with an iPhone 4S that had three hours of battery life thought that was an unstable clusterfuck too, shit happens.

Regardless you are only proving my point more, if it is usually an unstable clusterfuck that isn't fixed all that quickly, then what kind of idiot updates their software knowing this?

P.S. It's working quite fine for me

I'm not talking about minimal issues or "one bug fix" with NI releases. Its usually an unstable clusterfuck with a release and the bugs aren't fixed all that quickly IMO.

I thought everyone just knew that NI are the kings of using a public release to beta test, so I guess i agree with having no pity for early adopters.

Can you explain to me how exactly that was sucking up to NI? Name me one software company that releases a major update and then doesn't follow it with at least one bug fix, I bet you can't do it.

Look at Apple, Microsoft, Google, Adobe, every video game company in existence, every software company in existence. Look how long it took Apple to patch the battery meter when they released iOS 5.0. Look at every version of Windows that has ever been released.

They release a major update, bug reports come in, they patch it. Talk to anybody in software development, if they held off releases because they were worried about bugs then nothing would get done. Everybody knows this, you NEVER download a major release when it first becomes available and expect it to not have problems. Anybody that downloaded 2.5 and took it out to a gig did so knowing that they were playing the odds, if they ended up on the losing end, they get no pity from me.

So, if applying simple logic constitutes "sucking up to NI", then sure, guilty as charged

I guess I'm used to decent, generally major bug free updates from the days when I used Serato. Serato updates are light years better than Traktor. You could actually be confident downloading the serato beta versions and play out with them, which is a far cry from the PUBLIC release of TP2.5

For the most part I've had great experiences with software updates. I believe it can seem worse then it is just because there's such a concentration of people using the new software and discussing it.

Another beta development release from NI that isn't ready, released to the public under the guise of a software update. Good to see things don't change. I envisage another 20+ pages of people griping about how buggy and unstable 2.5 is and the wailing "how can they do this to us!!????", then another few threads about how 2.5 ruined peoples gigs. Its all deja vu in here.

I can't even install it since the installer says it can't detect the installation folder. When I open the service center to locate the installation folder however, it says it can't detect the stand alone application (and it really is there...)

Must be a sign of the gods then, I'll have a wait for the next version and do a complete install i guess.

I don't quite understand why there is a main play button for the remix decks. When I want a samle to playI should just be able to hit it and it plays, what is the point of having a deck type play button? The other thing I have noticed is before I had the sampler section of the DDM 4000 mapped to control the old sample decks. I hit the button, the sample plays. If I hit the button in the middle of the sample playing it stopped. Now the mapping carried over but now when I hit the button, the sample plays, once it plays through the box with the black arrow where you can choose what color you want that sample to be turns white, I then have to hit the button again for it to turn the color I selected for the sample and then hit the button a 2nd time to fire off the sample. I can't figure out what else do I have to map so I can play the sample and once its done I can hit the button once to play the sample again. Now its like a doublr tap. I can see the potential with the remix decks, but unless you have an F1 or until NI decides to release the rest of the slots to be mappable it kinda sux. I feel like I have a piece of gear thats missing a part in order to use it the way it was intended to be used. I have also noticed that the remix deck makes itself the master every time I hit it. As much as I like the idea of the remix decks and can believe up a lot of creative ways to use the them for a live performance, I am actually going to go back to 2.1.3 or whatever version I had last until I can be able to map it all myself.

@photojojo I guess you haven't run service center in a few months lol. There was 2.1.2, 2.1.2125, and 2.1.3.

I guess to get my settings and play lists back I can move the 2.1.2 folder and rename the 2.1.3 to 2.1.2. But I'm not sure what the changes were between the versions. If I remember correctly, it was mainly time code improvements which wouldn't affect me anyway.

@rdej47... from my non-technical viewpoint I would suggest they touched the beamarker code when they were overhauling the beatgridding code in the new release

The settings, collection, etc. in the documents folder are there for 2.1.3 (and for 2.5 and for previous versions), but the program is not in my backup folder in programs.

How do I get it back??
Had the same, had to reinstall everything and remade my settings by hand.
Didn't have a 'Rollback" function, or didn't find it.

Also went back to the previous version, don't like the 2.5.

GL with it tough!

IF you follow this thread and my post's

http://community .djranking s.com/showthr...t=50032&page=3

You will see how long it took me to actually get my free upgrade. It's possible with LE but there are certain circumstances that have to followed to enable you to be qualified.
i just fell out of the Qualification for a free upgrade, BUT to Native Instruments Kindness and customer service they passed on an upgrade serial to me anyway!!!

This has also entitled me to the free upgrade to 2.5 which I am using at the minute.

This might sound like a noob question, but why is it that stuff that works in previous updates can get messed up in future updates.

Like the multiple beat marker issue, to me it would seem like the only way they could mess it up is by actually touching that part of the program.

Could anyone here with coding experience weigh in on this?

Quick question, if i only have T2LE installed, and my audio 4, will I still be entitled to the TSP2.5 software?
Charline Dye
25.05.2012
I am exited about the potential of 2.5, and will probably get an F1, but I'm definetly going back to 2 until they get everything sorted out. Mainly because of the multiple grid marker bug, as this bug makes Traktor unusable for me.

I guess the release date should have been pushed back a bit as this version isn't ready for use.

Anyone using the Xone 4-band eq? If so the question I have is if the jogwheel lag bug has been fixed. I opened a ticket with NAI and they confirmed the bug that exists after 2.0.3.

The problem is it's only free for TSP2 users. If you still have the license to TSP1 active it should show up in either service center or on the NI site. Maybe there's an upgrade link for that to take you to TSP2.

You'll need to upgrade to 10.6 Snow Leopard before 10.7 Lion as 10.5 Leopard doesn't have the App Store
