Go to the NI site, login in on the upper right, it changes to my account, click that and select updates. What do you see?

Have you used your mk2 timecodes on 2.1 previously? Because i've had an issue like that happen to me for the first time at... a big gig, my first time using the mk2s outside of my place (where I never had such issues), with 2.1.2.
It would fastforward as if in 78rpm for a second - cyclically. It was obviously happening every rev of the record and it turned out there was a little spot of gunk in the groove that made it skip (not immediately obvious then in relative, but much more so at home in absolute), and TSP would go nuts right after the very audible POP in the TC signal.. Some crap must have landed on the record during the gig... cleaned it to hell at home and it was ok again.
... until my next gig a week ago where out of the blue, we had ONE such glitch and this time the record looks clean. Immediately switched back to mk1s... I was hoping it could get adressed in 2.5, maybe not.

From what I read on the Traktor Bible,
it's meant to help distribute the load of Traktor's internal audio engine. On Intel Core 2 Duo and iCore CPU's with only two cores, enabling Multi-Core support will reserve one core for graphics giving a slight encrease in performance in that area. However the Traktor Audio engine will still only use one core.

I gave 2.5 the pepsi challenge and sad to say it's not ready for prime time.

1) Lag on jogs still an issue for custom mappers (2.0.3 does not have ANY lag at all)
2) On exiting Traktor it says "Flushing background operations" and will sit there forever (I let it sit for over 24 hours)

It's a shame that we keep going backwards in terms of stability. I would rather see them stop adding new features for now and lets work out the bugs and get HID opened up to the vendors.

Until then looks I'll be on 2.0.3 forever at the rate they are going

Quick Question: Where is the 2.5 remix deck content located on the Mac drive? Just DL'ed but cannot locate. Thx!

I've updated to 2.5, then rolled back to 2.1.3 because of a change in mapping commands and how they are processed in the new version. It's a shame because I believe the appeal of the remix decks is great and even if I didn't plan to use a remix deck in an ableton-esque approach, I really wanted to take benefits of them to use the slots a bit like a fx machine, using sound effects, white noises, vocal shots and the like. Too bad for now.

I never really got on with the sample decks, but now with the integrated hardware I've found the remix decks in 2.5 much more appealing. So after quite a long while of being a serato sith lord, I've ordered an F1 and I'm going to give traktor another go. Now, if only they'd support HID with my CDJ-850s...

Updated my OS last evening to Snow Leopard and then updated to TSP2.5.

Played with it a bit (just on my lap, no controller) and it seems fine.

Had a look at the Remix Decks and then knew i had to RTFM.

thanks guys for confirms the DVS issues. like Lotus prv stated, we are DJ's not beta testers. I guess ill be deleting 2.5 and freeing up +1.5 GB of space on my HD. I was really looking foward to trying out the remix decks on DVS with the soft sync on my 1200s.

I also have random switching between absolute to relative when I pull the needle off the deck.

Also, when scratching, it will randomly skip ahead in the track without the needle jumping.

Good news is my MK1 vinyl still works.

EDIT: Sorry for the post, after looking a bit through my preferences, i found out that i had mix record on external while mixing mode was on internal... -.- What a beginners fault

Honestly, since I'm not playing out, I refuse to trouble shoot problems with the software. It's not our job as consumers of a major release to beta test this crap. I will be moving forward with my switch to SSL. These issues and the "Ableton" path NI is taking with their only dj software have sealed the deal for me. This is the 4th (?) major version release and they still are going backwards in performance.
I've thought about switching to Itch (I'm not a time code user), but whenever I believe about all the time I spent setting cue points and loops (never mind manually beat gridding), I just say forget it and and stick with Traktor.

So far I have used 2.5 for many many hours. No shut downs or freezes. Nothing major that I can see affecting a gig. But then again, I am only connected with an S4. The only two things that I noticed that was mentioned before was with the remix deck. You have to hit the sample button twice for the slot to play. Unless i have something set wrong in which I use to have the sample play at each touch of the button. The other is that I like to use the rating stars to mark my favorite songs / remixes to use. One time it wouldn't let me choose a rating. i restarted 2.5 and no issue since.

Are there any smiler experiences and has anyone use 2.5 successfully at gigs and parties?

I'm confused as to why sometimes NI does public betas and sometimes doesn't.

I know for some releases of Maschine they have.

trying to roll back to version 2.1.2 anybody know how on a mac? I clicked on the 2.1.2 folder and started to open more folders and ended up copying my files for roll back, now how do i access the roll back? For some reason its saying my "Sample tracks" that come with traktor pro 2 are corrupted or missing files. And i like to use the sample tracks so i need to roll back to 2.1.2 so i can actually use my sample tracks.

wow there is some management speak in that post Gizmo

I'm just gonna focus group and brainstorm my situation to determine whether my market location with this landmark release is, or is not, mission critical and if I have the capacity and resources to effectively sandbox the current release at this present time without affecting project objectives and quality of outcomes... Should we conference call again a week?

Well said. Using a landmark release in any mission critical scenario is DJ russian roulette. As we should know by now, newer does not mean more stable, especially with a whole new workflow shoehorned into the mix. Software companies release things with the best will in the world, but they cannot replicate every scenario with just a relative handful of beta testers.

Sandbox that new release for home use only for at least a week, maybe even a month. Hammer it into submission while keeping an eye out for bugs, especially in the online community. Then and only then should you consider using it for playing out.

With software, assume it's buggy until proven otherwise, especially if your mortgage depends on it.

I'm going to have to join the "oh shit, it has real issues" group. But thankfully, I don't do gigs....yet.

My first impressions of 2.5 are very reserved (especially since I don't have an F1 either). I am sort of noticing performance improvements in some areas, but then have some issues in others like glitchy sound, when starting and stopping samples in the Mix Decks. This is a no-go for me and my Windows i3 setup. I can't imagine someone with a Core-Duo system even believeing about working with the Mix Decks and effects. I am going to play with my settings to see if I can get rid of the glitches, but if I can't, it would be a terrible step backwards for me.

And the sync issue is a total no-go. 15 minutes into a mix and finding there is no real sync on a track with several beat markers is like, "Oh my god! No way dudes! Are you making me go back to having to beat match on purpose?" LOL! Another step backwards.

So yes. This is a public beta and NI would be smart to start doing true public betas instead of releasing gold versions with serious problems. It would help their reputation quite a bit IMHO! As the saying goes, two steps back to make one giant leap forward. It is always that way, you just have to call it a proper name. The steps back are fine, if you aren't calling them the giant leap forward and NI seems to get this wrong every time.

There is also a new Windows driver for the S4, 3.0.2, which doesn't automatically get installed with 2.5. The 2.5 performance totally sucks with the older 3.0.0 driver, so don't forget to install the new driver too, as I found it improves the performance considerably. There are just still some issues in other areas that need attention.

I will continue testing.....as it is not a gold version and hope NI will release 2.5.1 very, very soon.

I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying that it is just the way it is.

I'm not sure I even care about the remix decks TBH, still considering a Launchpad and Ableton, it's on the list behind a dozen other gear purchases ATM.
