Thanks for the heads up, I believe all of my plugins are 32-bit, so I imagine most of then will not work in Logic X then.. If I download and install Logic X, I'll still be able to use Logic Pro 9 whenever I want right?

Karlos, thank you dude, appreciated.

I have a gig this weekend in which I am using Traktor, Audio 6, and X1 but went ahead and updated. After a half hour of mixing, everything seems fine. yolo, profit, etc etc.

These are both free programs aren't they?

Is backing up via time machine to my external HD not enough though?

so things are looking good for us then i believe i may have to install it and take my audio 4 along just in case serato decides not to play ball. the thing im most interested in is the ram management, they're saying 4gb ram can actually handle upto 6gb worth!! no idea what sort of witchcraft theyre using to do this but i'll happily let my 8gb act as 12!! and HOPEFULLY theyve finally fixed the memory leaks in safari!

Also, say some of my favorite plugins/ ones being used in my current project stop working after upgrading to mavericks, as well as maybe other stuff not working, I could always just use time machine and revert back to my previous OS X and have everything back to the way it was right? So it's only a test I suppose, as long as I can revert back to exactly how my MacBook was bridge I upgraded, I'm fine with that.

Great okay, all backed up to time machine just now. And that's good to know, so I'll be able to see exactly what apps aren't compatible, that's cool.

Okay ill check with as many of the plugin devs for this,I'm sure they'll all be updated in time for mavericks though.? I checked NI support > downloads, and couldn't find a driver for the kontrol x1 (mk1) on there, none said anything about OSX 10.9 mavericks, what is that driver called mate? What's the software numbers on it update file name, in the downloads section of the NI website?

Thanks!

Time Machine backup is all you need really.
Any applications that are not compatible with Mavericks will be moved to an "Incompatible" folder.

I would check the product pages of any applications that you are worried about.

No issues with any NI products here or with any of the guys I have spoken to at NI.

There are BRAND NEW (Maverick co-designed) drivers for older NI devices (available since yesterday) so that would include your X1MK1.

I believe I am going to finally, the first time ever, upgrade my OS X, I'm on Snow Leopard 10.6.8 atm, so I can't even get the latest Traktor update, nor Logic Pro x. I've just backed up my Macbook Pro via Time Machine.

So can you give me any advice if there is anything I should do first before upgrading to Mavericks? I have Traktor 2.6.0, Maschine 1.8, I believe my Audio 10 and Kontrol x1 are up to date, in my Traktor audio 10 control panel is says I have version 1.3.0.

Logic Pro 9.1.8. etc. Can I just go ahead and do the mavericks upgrade and then download the latest traktor update, and test all my other stuff out, and if shit hits the fan, ill just use time machine to go back to Snow Leopard.

i'm just worrying that my 3rd party plugins will stop working and stuff, plus i'm working on a track atm in logic pro, so should i back up the files for that, or will they have been backed up by time machine?

Thanks

FYI: There are new Mac drivers for devices Audio 2 DJ, Audio 4 DJ, Audio 8 DJ, Traktor Audio 2, Traktor Kontrol S4 and Traktor Kontrol X1 available in the Free Updates section.
These drivers were co-designed for Mavericks.

Just installed a lil while ago - so far so freaking good, everything feels ridiculously snappy as hell. Just breathed new life into an aging machine.

If anything both Traktor and Ableton feel faster than before, So Traktor no longer Audio glitches if sync is turned on while analyzing, analyzing takes less time and iTunes playlists within Traktor opens about 3 times faster.

Other Apps that I can happily report are working fine: CS5 / CS6

Macbook pro 13' 2009, 8GB, Dual hard drives.

I didn't expect for it to work this well honestly, I thought it would give me serious issues but so far it hasn't I mean I only used it for about 10 minutes so I can't vouch if it does mess up after a while. But as much as I know it does open the program and without any issues.

Sounds promising. I'm going to copy the installation over to the Macbook, not wanting to wait another hour to download it.

Am I being presumptuous or is this the first time Native instruments have actually been ready for an OSX update with new drivers etc

Backing up the Macbook to timemachine and all new drivers installed for Traktor, already done this to the iMac and downloading Mavericks now to install to the to first.
Read a review that says the Battery life is dramatically improved on Macbooks. Will have to wait and see how the 'development' iMac runs with Traktor. 3.17 GB and counting......

scrap my post, serato have just released this

http://serato.com/dj/support/16557/i...-109-mavericks

basically stating that whilst they do not anticipate any issues, they cannot offer full support until it has been 100% tested with the full consumer release.

guess ill just wait as i have a busy weekend ahead

Has anyone got it working with Traktor and Ableton? Maschine? Reaktor?
