New Behringer Kit
Posted on: 19.01.2012 by Sulema Eshel
See http://www.behringer.com/EN/Category...rs.aspx?s=O500 & prices are on various pics at http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?s...8621758&type=1

$99 - $149 for the modulars
$199 for the mixtrack type dual decks (with no balanced out - bit of a fail)

Need to see the build quality as ever with Behringer, but they do look nice

IDK... thus my query.

UxU perhaps is ready to make a pre-sale buck or two.

Coming with independent units is not rocket science.
these new units did make me believe of those steinburg ones. they don't seem quite so designed for dj'ing maybe? tho probably fine. i doubt the prices are anything close to the behringer ones tho - and i much better the combinations/layout of these behringer ones.

apart from these there's only really the k4 and the new NI controller plus the X1 so i believe behringer is still ahead of the curve somewhat.

Not to say I'm a market expert, but it seems to me that with these babies you guys are already ahead of the curve

Is there still more stuff to come? Or is that a secret?

I can't wait to find out more about these units. Im interested in how we are supposed to move the grid and if there are and banks on the ableton / bitwig controller

...In otherwords, some of those models could in fact be scrapped altogether. ???
No this isn't correct. We aren't teasing the public and then cherry picking the stuff with the best response. Some of these modules will sell more than others. But ALL of them work together to give customers a system of devices that meet their needs. If we kill some of them, that limits the application and sales potential of the system as a whole.

Interface would be nice, something sleek.

I got the impression from the interview that of the pieces shown at NAMM, Behringer would decide which ones to put into production (???). Did I hear/read that correctly? In otherwords, some of those models could in fact be scrapped altogether. ???

I agree, I hope they are going to release a audio interface. They said at NAMM they were only showing 7 of the 8 new items that they had coming up. I'm hope its more like a Audio DJ 4 or 6 with phone inputs. Either that or a updated DDM-4000 with USB and full audio card built in. Traktor Scratch Certified would be nice too...

Regardless I plan on picking up all the CMD series stuff.

hasn't always been this way - Behringer was infamous as a company for blatently stealing the pcb schematic designs from companies like Mackie... particularly their mixing desks.

I'm really pleased that Behringer has started to innovate... these controllers look excellent.

I hope the buttons and faders are well made for home use. I had a few behringer devices in the past and for the price I bought them they were superior but after some time buttons and faders let go. They were treated well though.

Behringer has been transitioning their factory to automation, and they've invested millions of dollars into robotics and testing gear . Since the beginning of that initiative, the service guys have seen return rates drop to the point where putting out a 3 year warranty makes sense.

It's going to take a while to change some of the negative perceptions around the Behringer brand. The only thing we can do is keep improving the quality of our products, and trying to get to the point where we are releasing product that is AHEAD of the curve instead of behind it.

I would be curious to know how much and if the "quality knowledge" is spreading all 'round Behringer since they bought Midas and Klark group. Sure enough, they got serious one...

Big ups to you nem0nic. Wow. Great interview as well, really mapped out some of the careful and forward-thought process that went into this modular system.

This has the potential of being a game changer. Cheers!

Interesting.

I was going to say earlier in this thread with all the discontent with Behringer products that it seems their new direction in the modular market was born out of some serious thought, by one alleged nem0nic.

I am excited to see what these products can bring to the market. The potential is massive should the build quality be something other than what some are claiming to be the norm for Behringer products.
