Please post your suggestions, problems and bugs here. This update has been built for Traktor 1.1.2 and does not work perfectly with TP 1.2, please report any problems. There will be a new mapping for 1.2 released in a month. Download here

Remember to include:

  • Firmware version
  • Traktor version

***Changes and improvements***

Auto Gain turned off
Gain Knobs (Soft Take Over removed)
2 deck and 4 deck layouts changed to maximize space
Pitch range reduced to 4% to increase precision. (you can adjust this manually in the settings)

in the LOOPS section - 4 deck buttons and knobs each button now engages sync for ritchie hawtin style looping.

EQ FX- Changed LFO to zone 92 Filter LFO
EQ FX- Changed GATER to BEatmasher (it will become the slicer in 1.2)

While in juggle mode: hold down one of the 4 cue points and press the "JUGGLE ON" Button. THis will toggle play for that deck. Use this to stop or start playback while in juggle mode.

The sampler has been simplified. Press Sampler + the Cue button of the deck you want to sample. Automatically samples 4 counts of that deck in FX slot 2. hit sample again to turn off. You can only sample one deck at a time.

**BUGs FIXED**

SYNC (Lights up now on output)

SHIFT + Deck B does not activate EQ FX mode

Okay, I've got it working more or less the way it did before the TSI update.

In the preferences panel, under "Controller-Manager" I did the following:

Select "Generic Midi" from the Device drop-down menu.
Under the "Assignment Table" click the "Control" column.
That sorts everything so that you don't have to jump around as much.
scroll until you find the "Filter" controls.
Every control labeled "Filter" that says "direct" under "Mode" needs to be changed to "Relative"
Click on the row that you want to change, then go down to "mapping Details" section and change "Direct" to "Relative" when i did this it set the "Rotary Sensitivity" to either 69% or 67% and it seems to work pretty well.

Only the ones that say direct need to be changed. If it says "Reset" leave it
alone. There should be a total of 12 rows that get changed.

Don't change any of the "Filter On" control settings, as far as I can tell.

Hopefully this helps those who need a little more instruction than "lsmith" was giving up. I exported my midi settings but the file is too large to upload. Not sure why my .tsi file is 716 KB and Ean's is only 120 KB or so.

good luck.

Just check my reply just above yours for how to fix this issue.

This is my major issue with the new mapping as well. How do we fix the filter knob?

I'm assuming this could have something to do with me upgrading my Traktor Pro to 1.2.1 and the mapping being made for whatever version I was on before upgrading. Is this correct? or is there a way to tweak the mapping to make the filter knob work the way it did on previous mapping?

filter knobs need to be changed from "direct" to "relative" since the "relative filter/knob" controller type doesnt exist anymore.

thats actually incorrect. you can get it to work without bome's, its just the way i triggered it that required bomes (and of course the fancy flashing action). i have explained this before, but if you use bit-wise operators you can fold multiple modifiers into one (lets call them flags). this way you not only safe modifiers, but you can also check more flags with your two modifier comparison slots.

that being said, i believe its more important to get the ability to stop/play while in juggle mode, than getting hotcue 5-8 support. however i believe it would be wise to start looking for a button with LED that we can free up to be able to move into 1-8 hot cue mode.

Also, with the key change knob, everytime I hit plus or minus, it moves up 2.00 or back 2.00, which is not good considering if I use this feature at all, I only want to move a song up or down in pitch half or at most a whole step (not two). Any suggestions?

I downloaded and imported the new 2.4 TSI file and now i'm getting several strange things happening:

1. the juggle toggle turns juggle mode ON but not OFF again. (it may just be the lights not switching back)
2. the placement of the FILTER knob does not follow the on-screen knob correctly.
3. the left EQ FX button stays green no matter what.
4. Copy To D button remains green instead of toggling.

rig is in a bit of a funk at the moment (not the good kind) : )

i hope i'm just missing something and that maybe some of these things are new features whose characteristics i have yet to learn.

thanks for any help.

no you dont- we are just making small changes to make things work better. There wont be a new overlay for a while

this is a traktor bug

Thats not possible with Ean's mapping. I modified his mapping back in May to make this possible bu pressing the juggle button while the juggle knob is turned on. This would cause the juggle button LED to blink and you would have access to hotcue 1-8 for the deck on focus. However this requires bome and this approach is obviously no longer compatible with Ean's new mapping, though I have to check if I can reintegrate this.

@Ean: Getting access to hotcue 5-8 really seems to be one of the main requests. Not sure if TP 1.2 really helps us here as even though you now in theory have infinite modifiers, in practice since they cannot share modifiers its not so easy. Then again a few things could maybe be moved to separate logical controllers, like the browsing or the sampler.

sorry to be a bit of a noob, but with each new release do we need a new overlay?

I've dabbled in custom .TSIs and midi config and stuff, and I totally appreciate the amazing work you've done. I'm positive its helped so many people and will help so many more. Really makes mixing easy/fun/creative. Thanks so much Ean and crew

tsi 2.4 ROCKS. I love the juggle mode toggle, the knobs, the layout, the loop functionality, the sampler functionality and even the EQ dry/wet on/off is pretty cool!

Anyway, this feels like kind of an awkward question, but would someone please tell me how can I Juggle/Jump to hotcues 5-8?
