Bernardo Wenrick 11.03.2009 | Well I wouldn't mind buying the NanoKontrol pad if someone made a TSI worth it, waiting for it.... |
MadMan Ajms 11.03.2009 | Nano Pads are great I heard too..just different feel..no knobs.. |
Andriy Gavrysh 10.03.2009 | sorry that i have to disappoint you, but he's using a nanoKontrol for fx, not a nanoPad... |
Bernardo Wenrick 10.03.2009 | yes this is what I'm waiting for, Nano Pad for FX |
MadMan Ajms 10.03.2009 | Glad you finally got the decks to work. I am now using the Korg NanoKontrol for the fx and decks 3,4 , so it works great this way, but the original idea of this TSi were for those without. Perhaps the FX would be easiest if all always set to a "fader fx" stykle setup, like Ean has done with the VCI-100: jogs control dry/wet, volumes control and send, pitch controls another.... |
Andriy Gavrysh 10.03.2009 | well... normally you don't necessarily need the master button (that's why that button is hardly mapped on any user built mapping). if there's only one deck running, then this deck is always the master. normally you mix the next deck into the running one and you then stop the running deck (as you'll be loading the next track etc). if you stop the "master deck" then the second deck automatically gets activated as the master. so unless you have some special requirements you wouldn't need such a master button. be sure to set your master clock (the metronome on the left side besides the FX1 Unit) to auto - if you manually sync to the master clock - well, that's a totally different story |
Virgil Yacullo 09.03.2009 | FINALLY, after totally starting over, importing the tsi one last time, I got the jog wheels to work. Now if we can just figure out how to scratch while playing, and a few other things, this should be a good working tsi! When using SYNC, the AUTO TEMPO button on the VCI is mapped to the SYNC button on Traktor, but the SYNC button on the software never lights up, and there doesn't seem to be a way to hit the MASTER button on one deck, in order to set the master tempo...do you still need the mouse for that no? |
Virgil Yacullo 09.03.2009 | EDIT: I just opened itch to make sure it's not the VCI-300, and it scratches and back cues in itch, just not in Traktor using this TSI. itch has a TERRIBLE time with SYNCING 2 songs, which is why I'm trying to get this working with Traktor Pro instead... |
Virgil Yacullo 09.03.2009 | Hi - Yup, no jog wheels work with the tsi, We've tried importing it many times, and thy don' work for us. We can't scratch, back cue, or even use them to move the wav file to select where to start the playback. |
MadMan Ajms 09.03.2009 | this is a snap from my Mac..for PC you need to use ASIo4all ..whoever says they cannot use the jogs to cue a tune or scratch, try touching the metal jog plate...same as on a VCI-100.. |

MadMan Ajms 09.03.2009 | There are some snaps I believe of the audio config somewhere on this site. |
Rocky Bufton 08.03.2009 | I have everything working with the latest TSI either with the Midi Translator or without. The only thing I cant seem to figure out is how to get the headphone cue to work properly? I cant seem to hear anything pre-output.... any help would be greatly appreciated. |
Rocky Bufton 08.03.2009 | hey is the idea of this site http://vci300club.googlepages.com a done deal? I have been checking the url for a hot minute and it has been down. Let me know |
Virgil Yacullo 07.03.2009 | 1.1.1, the newest version, it was in my first post. I assumed from reading prior posts that you only had to use that workaround translator thing back in late 2008 before they figured out how to get this TSI to work? |
Andriy Gavrysh 07.03.2009 | seems like the hercules controls the volume softwarelike and the vci-300 hardwarelike... that totally depends on the manufacturer which way he takes... to the issue with the jogs: maybe you could post which version of traktor pro you are using? do you use mini.translator or not? |
Virgil Yacullo 07.03.2009 | We didn't change the MIDI mappings, we just downloaded the TSI, opened preferences, imported the TSI, and told traktor to use the VCI-300 as input and output. We've done it multiple times but the wheels don't do anything... Thank you for the clarification on the volume, it makes sense, although it does seem weird that on the Hercules DJ Console RMX, I thought I remembered it turning the volume on Traktor when I turned it on the MIDI controller. |

Virgil Yacullo 06.03.2009 | Hi - The Master Volume on the VCI works (turns the volume up and down) but shouldn't the MAIN knob in traktor (which is the Master volume) turn when you turn it? My jog wheels don't do anything when the track isn't playing either, so I can't move the waveform left to right to set the starting point... I tried closing Traktor Pro and re-importing the TSI, but they still don't work. I have never used itch before (I didn't like the looks of it when I installed it so I went back to Traktor Pro) so in an ideal world I'd love to work with you on creating a VCI-300 / Traktor Pro TSI that is made specifically for DJ's who are used to Traktor, rather than DJ's who want Traktor to work like itch. I tried out the Hercules DJ Console RMX with Traktor Pro, and it worked flawlessly, and very intuitively...I just want to get the VCI-300 to do the same. Let me know what you believe, thanks again! If the master volume "works", then it must be something with your midi settings...I do not have my VCI in front of me but I believe you mean the master volume of the VCI-300 and thus it has no relation to Traktor software, but the audio card in the unit. |
Virgil Yacullo 05.03.2009 | First off, thank you for the work you've done on this. I have tried using your current tsi, but a lot of the functions that I'm used to on a MIDI controller don't appear to work on the VCI-300 with Traktor Pro 1.1.1 Neither jog wheel works at all, I can't scratch, back cue, or jog the record in any way. I can't use the jog wheels to scroll up and down quickly in the music file list, the only way to scroll up and down is using the small silver UP DOWN buttons, one song at a time? Seems like a really slow way to have to scroll through 3000 songs, am I missing something? The master volume works, but doesn't show the knob in Traktor Pro moving when you move it. Before I spend too much time on this, those were the first 3 things I wondered about right off the bat... Again, thanks for your help! Stavros |
MadMan Ajms 05.03.2009 | here is an update: some bug fixes that were noticed in the loopings area. Should be fixed now http://vci300club.googlepages.com/ck...1_1_B2.tsi.zip |
Andriy Gavrysh 04.03.2009 | well, no news from me for now, still working on some new features... i tried to implement some things to my mapping but i chose to completely rework it and incorporate some new techniques and goodies, but i'm trying to make it as versatile as possible (but still with dj's who sync in mind) and it takes a big fat amount of time to do that... i'm also stumbling upon some problems right now, e.g. i'm still having the lag and audio dropout problem when putting out the volume of the tracks on the led-strips! sorry, but i have to dissappoint you for now, i hope i'll finish my mapping soon! |
Manie Novielli 04.03.2009 | no news from claudek or morbido ?!? well i wrote what i found with the new ck 1.1.1 b1 here: http://www.djranking
s.com/community
/sho...?t=3435&page=5 probably this helps .. |
MadMan Ajms 26.02.2009 | version for Traktor 1.1.1..(no need for mini.trans!!) CK 1.1.1 B2 http://vci300club.googlepages.com/ck...1_1_B2.tsi.zip changes: -supports Traktor 1.1.1 jog wheels and pitch new assignments -cross fader curve dial -adjusts headphone volume -headphone dial (under play button)- "Fader Fx" style mode Ean G VCI-100 inspired : pitch knob, jog wheels and volume controls adjust fx sends 2 & 3 and wet dry. also holding on "scroll" activates volume sliders to control FX 2 amount. fx amount 1 is also latched in this mode, so it is not needed to hold shift down to activate it. let me know how this one gets along so we can always improve it! |
MadMan Ajms 26.02.2009 | I give all this a try..thanks for the tips. I believe I found a semi fix. I assigned a Scratch Direct value off to the play button and turns scratch mode off when played. good news is scratching is pretty snug. |
Andriy Gavrysh 27.02.2009 | now thats quite strange, as i had exactly the same issues on 1.0.1 and just upgraded to 1.1.1 and i don't have those issues now! try to manually click the master button left beside the phase meter - does it resolve your issue? in my case this resolved the problem most of the time! or maybe if you want to maintain a specific tempo you could also use the master clock to sync your tracks to - as i had those problems i started to sync all my tracks to the master clock (and i still believe that this is the way to go - if i just could map a single jog for tempo bend *damnit*!! you can only assign 2 buttons for it (tempo bend up, tempo bend down) *grrrr* this makes me go crazy!) and since i did that those issues never appeared again to me! maybe this will work? |
MadMan Ajms 27.02.2009 | I am not working on anything until I get past this and jog wheels and cue problem. I almost go back to T3.4..it is Pro. my problem is with cueing up a track. I try to cue up a song sometimes and at the start or so, I hit the cue button to place my cue point. Then I try to play it but it locks and phase meters dance from left to right. It is really annoying and never did this in 1.01. I would never play with it out professionally like this. Must be something I am doing, but cannot figure what. Rosalie Hutzell 26.02.2009 | ClaudeK, Did you resolve it? I'd like to fiddle with any tsi that you may have ready. |
MadMan Ajms 25.02.2009 | yes, I realize this bug.. I wrote about this too on another thread. The transport cue controls must be changed as 1.1.1 does some big changes..I will work on this later. .. I believe Cue/UP Play is needed or something.. It will be 100% good toevening ( I hope) |
Cherry Stalions 24.02.2009 | ok new problem, sometimes the wheel doesnt work properly, after the bug with the 'play' both wheels won't scratch anymore. btw, is it possible to turn on the level LEDs? |
Cherry Stalions 24.02.2009 | ah lol, found a solution for this problem. One need only to click on the deck with the mouse, i dont know whatfore, but hey.... it works. |
Cherry Stalions 24.02.2009 | Oh hell, new bug found - sometimes after i pressed Play, the song isnt running... just the ajust display is running from right to left and the deck cant be used anymore.. weird |
Cherry Stalions 24.02.2009 | ok it works, now running it without minitrans - the crossf is back to work, but ... cant control the FX3 amout with the wheel anymore:C:C EDIT: i mean the amout of the whole FX section , srys |
MadMan Ajms 24.02.2009 | let me know.. hope so.. |
Cherry Stalions 24.02.2009 | downloading the update, lets hope the cross will work again |
MadMan Ajms 24.02.2009 | new 1.1.1 version .. supports jogs and pitch let me know if it works..was made on demo.. http://vci300club.googlepages.com/manual |
