NI kontrol M1 (member mockup)
NI kontrol M1 (member mockup) Posted on: 10.01.2011 by Demetra Pinizzotto Idea I had:2 channel mixer controller module. same size as the X1, same knobs and colours. I did a little photoshop and came up with this. comments, ideas and bumps are welcome. I will update the picture when a good idea comes in and I find some time. in the picture there are some labels on the buttons, in the real version I'd rather not have that. just to show you guys what is what. | |
Random X 11.01.2011 | But seriously, problems with the BCR2000 encoders? Not that I know of. |

I will photoshop a 2 deck version with LED rings too. and an FX only unit. coming up in about 2 weeks. but first: Exams... |
Kiyoko Wellisch 11.01.2011 | Yeah I was gunna say, why the hell would you want to have decks share EQ pots and faders? Personally I'd just bump it up to 4 channel. |
Irwin Ney 11.01.2011 | And since your controller is deck assigned, I would prefer all endless encoders instead of all knobs... Maybe with a circular led ring around it for feedbacking current deck knob position on traktor... Just like those encoders on Behringer BCR2000: No one likes the soft takeover feature... |
Irwin Ney 11.01.2011 | Suggestion: Put two small buttons with led feedback for activate slot 1 FX and slot 2 FX per deck |
Luann Lampitt 11.01.2011 | I would definitely buy a product like this, awesome mock-up Pipedreams though eh! |
Lewis Stumpf 11.01.2011 | That looks wicked. I'd buy. I posted a picture up in another thread of a single-deck controller, from a pretty similar design philosophy. I'd love to throw some ideas around, get your input. Please do consider building this! |
Demetra Pinizzotto 11.01.2011 | I put the gain on top, moved around some of the features. I believe it's gotten better, Gain is at the top, like requested deck select is at the top moved the cross fader curve (to make the unit semetrical, just like the X1 now is) I might get around making an FX unit and 4 channel mixer after my exams. |
Kiyoko Wellisch 11.01.2011 | I have a trackpad on my laptop and the platter of a turntable makes a fine mouse pad. The jog wheels take up more room than a mouse. |
Lisa Lochotzki 10.01.2011 | There's available Trackball though I also prefer the JogWheel option. |

Carroll Guglielmetti 10.01.2011 | Nice mockup! I would definitely consider this for an all midi setup. |
Cammy Clegg 10.01.2011 | Add a bit of weight to it so it doesnt shuv around and add a third channel. Id pre order. Like i emailed livid instruments about something like this. If they say they would. Any of you guys down for a group buy of something like this from livid? |
Chas Giraldez 10.01.2011 | I would instantly buy 2 of these. |
Lisa Lochotzki 10.01.2011 | There's 4MidiLoop if pricing is not a problem, only a Midi controller though. |
Maisie Marras 10.01.2011 | jog wheels are nice for moving around the track before you play it... |
Kiyoko Wellisch 10.01.2011 | In my opinion this is a massive gap in the market that someone needs to fill. I, for one, don't want any bloody jog wheels. If I'm mixing with midi I'm going to be using the sync button. I want a 4 channel midi mixer with transport controls and a couple of extra knobs that actually rivals a decent analogue mixer in terms of build quality. The only thing that seems to be out there is the x session pro and that this is a piece of plastic crap. |
Wallace Pavlovski 10.01.2011 | Looks brilliant id defo buy it i would also put the gain on top though to give it the feel of a traditional mixer |
Lisa Lochotzki 10.01.2011 | OMG Like it! |
Demetra Pinizzotto 10.01.2011 | ye, like it is with every mixer. I still believe it's quite weird traktor didn't leave it like that in the software too. I kind off used the software as reference. If more suggestions are coming in ill try them out and post them back here. maybe same sized one with a jogwheel?! jogwheel, big pads, multiple faders and modifier knobs, would be an fx/juggling monster:P imagine having 2 of each. full 4 deck kontrol, but way more flexible than S4 or other one unit devices. I know ppl like it in one unit, I like to have a choice. Im very busy atm, but ill be having lots of design fun and photoshop hours as soon as I can:P |
Corey Tronchin 10.01.2011 | goddamned... with all the NAMM info coming out I was so excited that this would actually be another leak... but no This sir, is a very good idea! Would put the gain on top though. Assuming this would have the build quality as the X1, would buy this without hesitation! |
