Megaupload shut down: I guess SOPA/PIPA don't matter the US gov will do what it wants Posted on: 19.01.2012 by Romelia Stankard http://techland.time.com/2012/01/19/...aring-website/what the actual fuck No due process, they are just accused by the MPAA/RIAA. Was not a US company and they arrested them in fucking new zealand. shutting down megaupload is like nuking a city because there is some drug dealing in it. A lot of legitimate stuff was on megauplaod and they complied with DMCA notices. I guess SOPA and PIPA don't matter because the US government will do whatever the fuck it wants anyway. | |

Frances Clover 23.01.2012 | nah.... no coffee or other substance! just anger with this shit!!! just trying to imagine assholes without facebook for a month hehehe |
Nella Libin 23.01.2012 | Too much coffee this morning eh? |
Frances Clover 23.01.2012 | WHY NOT FUCK UP WITH FACEBOOK SHIT? s.o.p.a avoid us to learn and study. so anyone with "power" should fuck up facebook forever. i would like to see how many "FAKE" people from that shit thing being back to real life showing up themselves without photoshop and fake information (used to be someone that u r not) world rules will have to start now free internet!!!! fuck fakebook!!!!! lets create a p2p without physical servers we are tired to see americans earning zillions of $$$ to give it to desajusted idols and addicted bitches. fuck up with this industry. past model was gone!!!! lets create a new systems of roylaties and so!!! fuck hollywood. fuck universal. fuck disney and all copies from early movies. lets put some revenge back like taking out facebook forever. we just want to learn!!! |
Romelia Stankard 23.01.2012 | fileserve is down too and no longer allows sharing I guess this is the end of all filesharing and upload services. best to back up your dropbox. |
Ira Alsadi 23.01.2012 | The reason they had the authority to shut down megaupload is because they had servers in Virginia. The domain control is what scares me. It's a fine line between illegal content and unwanted content. Using the guise of customs to enforce domain seizure is a fucking joke. This will go away once the elections are over. Also, why not shut down the skin head sites or other such sites which preach hate and intolerance. All those cowards hiding behind their freedom of speech. Is sharing copyrighted material really worse for our society than that? Give me a break. |
Nella Libin 23.01.2012 | Like Saddam? Never mind he was devoutly Anti Al Qaeda, never mind he didn't posses any WMD (WTF does that totaly made up term actually mean anyhow?) never mind the fact he was a stabilising influence over a violent tribal population - ok his records on human rights and cruelty were very questionable, but so are the Oil Free / natural resource free nation of Zimbabwe's dictator, Mugabe. Afghanistan? Taliban? Hmmm nothing to do with supposed deposits of Lithium then eh? |

Yong Aptekar 23.01.2012 | The US scares the shit out of me. The government feels that it can police the world with impunity. Between copywrite law, imposing "democracy" on countries that don't want it, and taking out political leaders the world over, the war machine feels that its law is the only law. Megaupload is only one. What about trying to shut down piratebay? Because something is illegal in one country, does not mean that you can roll into a sovereign country and shut down whatever you want. And this doesn't just apply to downloading, it involves anything the US deems as "dangerous" /rant |

Ask any Vet who was forced to fight a war he may or may not have believed in: What is more important to you, 21st Century Fox's profits or expanding VA benefits to returning soldiers? Likewise you could ask any member of the civilian sector what affects them more, reforming the health care system or protecting the intellectual rights of Hollywood? Just another example of bad government in a 200+ year list of self service. |

Erich Vallabhaneni 20.01.2012 | word, i guess it was kinda hurting the cause i didnt believe about it like that. i still dont agree with them arresting them in New Zealand, i believe thats stepping over the boundries a bit considering they aren't even in our country. |
Romelia Stankard 20.01.2012 | which is stupid because we are trying to fight against censorship and internet regulation so attacking government websites is just hurting the cause. makes no sense. this is just internet slacktivism and it accomplishes nothing. very relevant- maddoxes view on this: http://maddox.xmission.com/ |
Erich Vallabhaneni 20.01.2012 | Yeah but atleast someone is trying to fight back, instead of sitting around complaining and not doing anything. I mean there's nothing I can do but it feels good that the gov cant just go around fucking shit up and there be nothing done. Its the message more than the action |
Romelia Stankard 20.01.2012 | ooooohhh scary anonymous DDOSed some sites with LOIC for an hour or two Seems kind of futile doesn't it? |
Erich Vallabhaneni 20.01.2012 | Anonymous has decided to cyber fuck America for what they did to Megaupload, and i like it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lXau4TDt7M |
