Switching to Iphone after years of Blackberry Posted on: 15.01.2012 by Barton Rigazio Just bought the latest Torch 9860 last week, the BB answer to the Iphone. The phone was amazing while it lasted but it looks like I'm now a part of the "bricked blackberries" group! Found the problem that I'm having and it looks like many other people around the world are having the same issue. Even after replacements have been sent to them, the issue repeats itself with new phones too!http://community s.crackberry.com/blackbe...9850-a-657899/ So this brand new phone lasted less than 2 weeks. Going into AT&T today and switching over to the Iphone...bye bye blackberry! It was a great run! | |

Keli Muennink 26.01.2012 | I love these threads, when people get really passionate about what device they are using. lets start one apple vs windows haha |
Britta Limehouse 26.01.2012 | iPhone is teh sh!t man, you can do way more things on an iPhone than on a BB |

Reed Kempisty 25.01.2012 | used BB for years. was so tired of doing battery pulls all day, so iPhone for life. |
Joselyn Supina 25.01.2012 | I have had my iPhone for a year, never used a case, no protective film or anything..No scratches, no cracks. Well, some scratches, on the camera lens. Guess that would be the best reason to have a case. |
Lilliana Perris 25.01.2012 | I have a CapDase cover for my iPhone 4. I have dropped it a few times and this cover has saved it everytime. If it fell on a sharp object flat on the glass, yes...it would break i recon. If you pay this amount of money for a device (phone in this case)....i would treat it like I treat my laptop....external drive....etc. With CARE! If you going to treat it like any other phone....it will fuck out...like all other phones. Its a BEAST.....protect it. I have a soft neopreen pouch that i keep mine in. Its ALWAYS in there. |
Keli Muennink 25.01.2012 | Your one of the lucky ones then, maybe you have it in bubblewrap 99% of the time. All i no is that the next iphone will have a case that covers the edge of the glass screen next time around. massive design error!!! |

Brinda Tidrick 17.01.2012 | Seems like a smart move. I've always been an iPhone boy since I moved on to smartphones. But the people I know who have made the opposite move (iPhone to Blackberry) absolutely hate it. Sadly, this does mean you HAVE to have iTunes on your computer. Which I personally hate - other than that, iPhone is all good. |

RIM isnt doing as bad as some of you believe, its the north american market thats taking the hit. The company has been winning some major awards for the phones and technology it has developed. And before you point out how some models are having issues, remember that technology advanced very quickly now, and with that, some of the reliablity is lost. the more features you have, the more needs to be crammed into a device. Fortunately for the BlackBerry, you have choices in the models. One iphone releases at a time. RIM launched 7 devices in more than a few countries on the same day. The blackBerry is the most secure smartphone, several countries have signed agreements to only use blackberries in their governments. This includes the United States and Russia. The choice then becomes a virus ridden andriod phone, a beautifully marketed toy, and a secure solid phone. In an age where everyone is afraid of big brother watchin, it surprises me that people wouldnt pick security over angrybirds. -end rant -I should probably note that I do work for the company and it drives me insane when i read things like "somebody should buy out RIM and use the phones to run xx" peace |
Barton Rigazio 17.01.2012 | I loved the BB keyboards too but was very interested in the full on touch of the 9850/9860. It was definitely a great phone "while it lasted". I did not miss having a real keyboard at all. Now that I'm on iPhone, however, I 100% regret not coming to apple sooner. The applications are just mind blowingly useful. I don't play games or look into stupid pointless apps out there. The apps on Blackberry were complete FAIL and there just weren't that many USEFUL apps to even choose from. Instead, it seems like the BB app store is full of useless games, etc. From my bank account app to ebay mobile to pandora, I'm already blown away by what the iPhone is capable of and how it actually makes life easier, and how stable it is. Blackberry I felt was more of a PHONE and as soon as you try using heavy apps or uploads a couple GB's of photos/music, the phone became unstable. I put in my old 32gb microSD which was probably half full and the brand new phone started glitching. There's a reason why Apple is doing so well in the mobile market. If blackberry's newest line of phones (bold 99XX included!!) can't even be trusted, how much longer does RIM expect their customers to stay faithful? I've been a long time BB user and have always avoided switching to Apple. The time finally came though and I don't believe I'll ever look back, even if RIM comes out with QNX etc. The apps are a plus on the iPhone but the real value comes in its STABILITY. Thanks for listening to this rant haha. Loving every second of the iPhone! |

Lilliana Perris 16.01.2012 | BB's are BALLS man. There are only 2 phones these days that is worth getting. Android Phone...and an iPhone. The rest will just stay BS....they are limited by their little OS's. |
Aundrea Lenore 16.01.2012 | I did the same thing last month after 3 Blackberries. I don't know why I didn't do it sooner. We've been missing out! |
Barton Rigazio 15.01.2012 | @farhan: yeah man the bold 99XX series is definitely sick but unfortunately even these phones are prone to the same problem that I and a lot of people are having. The crackberry community
is running wild with bold and torch users going crazy over "bricked" phones. @Liambo, you're making the right choice man. Got the 4S and absolutely loving it :-) Slowly getting into apps now! Feel free to recommend essential apps you all have! |
Palma Hanslip 16.01.2012 | I just tried to backup my BB Torch just now. My phone then decided to block me out then wipe everything.. Away to actually buy a 4S cash tomorrow. |
Ninfa Larranaga 16.01.2012 | my ex got the blackberry 9900, she fuckin luvs it, did u look into that? |
