I somewhat get by with trying to grasp the larger context and then figuring out the details when I believe it's important for my research - but I really should invest some time to get better at it. Which I can't see me doing anytime soon.

I speak English, Russian, and German completely fluently, and have done so since my childhood, and am conversationally fluent in French. I even have published translations, so I feel like I put my language skills to good use.
