How many languages do you speak? Posted on: 21.02.2012 by Tatum Ansaldo Bet it's not as many as this guy...http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-17107435 I'm a language student and I feel like it was all for nothing! | |
Tesha Freudenstein 02.04.2012 | i wasn't aware of how many on here speak german on my other community i'm about the only one. |
Len Lukawski 01.04.2012 | Props to all of you non-native English speakers. I saw many names throughout the thread and was surprised to learn how many of you weren't native English. |
Edwina Fagel 31.03.2012 | Estonian (native) English (fluent) Russain (basic) Finnish (can understand) I can allso understand most of the local dialects. They are really different of the main language. Alltrough, the problem is that there is a big lack of the speakers of dialects as they're quite complicated and there are no written rules. |
Etta Rued 31.03.2012 | Well i can speak English French and Arabic and trying to learn some more languages |
Cyndi Grenz 25.03.2012 | just 15 and already speak 5 languages I expect learning a few more(Art.4 of Switzerland's law: Switzerland has 4 official languages) + Spanish, native |
Verona Spradlin 25.03.2012 | Just English and Spanish both fluently. Since I'm in Texas, it is very useful although I'd love to learn German or French for the hell of it. |
Deann Kolber 22.03.2012 | I'm a native English, fluent German and Italian speaker, have recently taken up Spanish, I hope I will reach the advanced level soon, as it is very much like Italian. |
Tesha Freudenstein 20.03.2012 | last german part had some flaws but major props to the man. i'm struggling with 3 languages. i only speak german (native) and english (second) fluently and both spoken in my home when i was child. in dire situations i could understand and speak a few broken parts of french but that is it |
Arcelia Siebeneck 16.03.2012 | English (native) Thai (conversational) Czech/Slovak (basic) My girlfriend is from Hong Kong so I'm probably gonna start learning Cantonese soon... tricky language though (Thai has 5 tones which is hard enough; Cantonese has 9 tones!!) |
Vivienne Cowins 14.03.2012 | Swiss German (native) German (2nd native language) French (fluently) Italian (average) English (fluently) Spanish (insults) |
Loyce Mekonen 13.03.2012 | Spanish (native) English (quite fluent I believe... I even have that american'ish accent which I got from movies and what not... kinda proud of my english haha). And a few French sentences like "I dont know how to speak French" as a way of switching to either english or spanish lol |
Sumiko Dani 13.03.2012 | There was some saying about speaking few languages. Something like if you know two languages you are twice as a human. I know three: German, English and Spanish. That's all for now. |
Lemuel Laverack 13.03.2012 | Native English speaker, learning Spanish and a little German. It's really hard to remember much in several languages. I really like Italian as well, I'm not sure I can handle this many. |
Shaniqua Tisa 26.02.2012 | Native in English Functional in French - Double Majored in French and Int'l Relations. Studied abroad as long as possible... even to the point of being a 5th year senior. Enthusiastic in Sarcasm |

Kati Khait 26.02.2012 | English (midwest): Native Spanish: been learning for about 5 years, I'd like to call myself fluent but not sure if I am. Let's just say that if I got plopped in spain randomly I'd be able to make it by with my Spanish but it would be a challenge. Bought a book to start learning German... but then I also bought a vci-100 which I spend most of my time on |
