I personally can't respect someone who takes advantage of his fame, which he got from being the prime example of doucheyness, and totally shits all over something I have a passion for. Have you watched his dj videos. Granted he has gotten better, and isn't the worst dj in the world. He is not at a level where 10,000+ is an acceptable rate for his skills, scratches like ass. He is not a $10,000 DJ, but a $10,000 performer (clown). And the whole "get in, get rich, get out" thing will most likely go nowhere for his type. If 78% of Pro football players go bankrupt 2 years after retirement, I don't believe Pauly D has the intelligence to hire financial advisors and make worthwhile investments in his future.

care to post an example of 4 deck mixing that actually makes a set sound better?

i know loads of drum and bass djs can get booked for up to 4 decks, but i cant see how it would work with house.

Yeah okay you guys do make a good point. I always explain it like this:
It's easy to be an average DJ but it's really hard to be a good one when I say good I mean guys that can DJ on 3-4 cdjs and keep them all synced whilst still sounding good.

He's saying what he (and every other DJ) does really doesn't take that much talent. I respect that, because at the end of the day, 90% of the guys out there really don't do anything all that impressive.
I tend to agree with that too. A lot of DJs are just playing OTHER people's music. So come on, ok ,there a bit of a creative aspect, but that a very very very minor art form. Most aren't musicians and cant' play a instrument, let alone create or read music. Apart from a bit of taste and a bit of musical awareness and crowd reading skills, the only basic skill you need is be able to count to 4 (and no, activating a few effects isn't that technical and what you call a routine is just you pushing a few buttons without any dexterity involved...).
Some DJs I consider as musicians as they play with their gear like it's an instrument like turntablists but they are a different breed of their own.
As for the ones who ARE producers and who ARE selling tracks, some of them should stop to fart above their head (in french "p

i believe you guys missed what happen on twitter. all that Mr Mau5 was commenting on Pauly D followers and everyone took it out of context. nothing to see here, lets not try to make this a Steve Angello vs DJ Sneak.

in other news jeresy shore news....two earthquake rock Italia and the price of romano and parmesan cheese is gonna go up.

I believe it's mostly EDM DJ's that are hating on Pauly D. IMO, Pauly D is at least as good as the average top 40 club DJ. He just happens to have better hair so he gets booked for better, higher paying gigs.

im still amazed by this that some DJs dont get its his name bringing him the massive venues, not skills. i hardly doubt the crowd that attend these gigs are really caring about his technical ability behind pon decks. they just wanna see some fag with plastic hair playing chart music

Sure I read him saying somewhere that he didnt really used to like going out, but when he did he hated the DJs because they used to just press play and have god awful transitions. He also said that he's being impressed by many a djs musicality. We've all seen DJs like that and if its what your view of the average DJ is then fair play. He says it how he believes it.

ive seen masses of threads about both Deadmau5 moaning at people and people moaning about Pauly D being talentless and would never want to be him, but then in the same breathe saying he should step aside and let real djs take those bookings (ie them). personally over here (UK) Pauly D is somewhat unknown

And like the OP said, he is a douche bag who believes he is above all those who didn't make it big with him.

He is a cunt. Plain and simple. Your ability to use Ableton in a live environment doesn't make you talented.

Scott and Robbie Hardkiss did it, Dubtribe did it, Rabbit in the Moon did it, the Crystal Method did it.

It's called live mixes with synths and samplers. Deadnoise couldn't hold a candle to them because they did it live.

He is a douche. The pauly D of EDM. he couldn't record and program live if his life depended on it. He is a useless cunt with no purpose.

TALENTLESS.

Somehow I'm going to bank on him not learning how to become a generic pop producer overevening

The thing is if we all had the chance of you would like to hang with either pauly d or deadmau5 i know for a fact id chose deadmau5. Reason: what would you gain by following pauly d? Deadmau5 is a smart dude if you've watched his youtube videos he explains stuff for his viewers and just does whatever HE wants pauly d is just a puppet. You can either follow someone who is smart and a bit of a dick or someone who is pretty stupid, and is a total dick

I agree, I like mau5 because he will speak his mind regardless of if you'll like him for it. I'm not mad that Pauly D is a famous DJ, I envy him in that regard (never thought i'd ever say I was envious of him..) but the fact that he's such a d-bag is what irritates me and I honestly can't listen to him spin, I dunno maybe its just not my style.

I would be doing the same thing if I was Pauly D. Don't be mad.
