interesting. this quote by pauly d in the thread disturbed me a little edit: although i suppose its true to an extent

"Skills aren't enough to ride on anymore you have to have that something extra to get you to the next level. Jazzy Jeff got to where he was by skills, AM (RIP) got to where he was because he dated a celebrity and without AM jeff was thrown off stage. People in the crowd dont care about the crab scratch chirp flare you perfected in your room in 96. If you want to be be a start you need to act like one and give the corwds what they want. DJs and some guys want to hear all your crazy skills, I play for the women and where the women go the men will follow."

Proves my point that he's only doing it for fame and girls. He's cheap and sucks as djying period, if he were doing it for music and all he would take time to practice mixing, but by knowing he doesn't have to try and just do some shit with the turntables and say a few words then he takes advantage of it all.

money isn't everything homie, I like the idea of after I get done with a long day I can look back and be proud of what I did and how I did it. So being an extremely bad at something but still getting paid just doesn't sit well in my book, Id rather do something I was good at and do said extremely bad activity for a hobbie. Like I said, just me though.

Pauly D is the biggest WINNER in the world. He GETS PAID (a fuckin' lot of money) to DJ, without even putting in the hours of practice.

I can't lie - I'm jealous as hell.

Plenty horrible DJs have come and gone, plenty great ones never blew up as big as they should. Keoki comes to mind, horrible and enjoyed great amounts of international appeal, probably train wrecking for big cash even as I type this. To be fair, I heard him in 92 and he dropped a pretty good 3am set, but hid the mixing by playing maniacal laughter, bells or ape noises and junk between tracks, it was interesting. Any other time I've witnessed his set it has been a complete disaster, him rocking out to the headphones while the needle is hitting the paper over huge racks of speakers, passing out on stage, too busy smoking a glass pipe to mix, etc... Thank god jungle came around so I could leave the room.
There was for some reason a market for this guy and Pauly will find his too, it may even stretch and live longer than Jersey Shore, which I've never been able to watch for longer than 5 minutes. If he can get booked, play his set, and everyone is happy, more power to him.

Right he doesn't know how to position his hand, he just cutting the tracks to make it sound likes he doing something, just playing around with the eq's... I mean come on! I understand it's all about the money.. but for the sake of the other DJ's and the ears of the people please learn how to mix. You should have seen him at zero as all dj's such as Magix and QMN were laughing.

I was watching that just WAITING for him to smash the needle off the record.

Happened at approx. 2:05.

Something frightening about the positioning of his record hand...

I respect Dedmau5 or speaking his mind... I met him at Lollapalooza in Chicago not long ago. He is a pretty nice guy, a bit full of himself... But we had Pauly D spin at Zero in Naperville, i felt like leaving the way he mixed made me sick to my stomach. even the resident Dj's were laughing at his mixing. His tunes were mixed off key, leads overlaped other leads making it sound like a train wreck, eqing was way off!

Sadly I believe more people know who Deadmau5 is than who Richie Hawtin is.
