Deep House/Bass Music

Just wanted to get a rough idea on what people's thoughts on deep house and bass music are? SBTRKT, Pearson Sound, Disclosure, Boddika, Blawan, Maya Jane Coles, Eats Everything, Julio Bashmore, Mosca, Catz n Dogz...

Are these all artists popular with DJTT community members? I just wandered what the general feel for music here was!

P.S if you are into this kind of music leave some feedback on my quick 15minute mix! Thanks

The actual piano line is almost identical to Chase & Status - Count On Me, albeit in a different key, but you can mix the drop of Disclosure at 3:00 into the beginning of Count On Me and it sounds great. Good crowd pumper.

Also, Fever is a TUNE, forget about that!

Don't know whether anyone's posted this yet, but I love it. Midlands boiler room has to be one of my favourites.

No worries mate, I wasn't familiar with him either until a few weeks ago when he filled in for a DJ that was playing with Shed. Pretty wicked DJ skills as well. His mixes are real diverse.

Hi Deep House / Bass Music thread! Love the vibes in here, seems friendly! Greetings from San Francisco!

boiler room
I agree that most events seem like they have negative vibe, for example house music legend Doc Martin playing in some weird living room (kitchen?) in London :

Doc plays well but the scene is just not the kind of party that Doc usually brings...

Also wanted to post a link to a deep house/garage mix that my DJ partner did recently. I believe she's been really killing it on these studio mixes and figure this is the thread where DJ Techtools house heads hang out! Tracklist is included and as keeps it current, tracks from 2010 on : Wil Maddams, M A N I K, DJ Steaw, Subb-an, Huxley, Audiojack etc.

I'm going to see Tyree Cooper @ Housepitality SF tomorrow, pretty psyched! His set to like 7 ppl in a church (?) on a Sunday afternoon last year (?!?) was my top show of the year in terms of feels... hip-house nation!

If it's not your own gig, you always play for the crowd. Those "Easy crowd pleasers" are better referred to as "bankers" because you can bank on them to get everyone on the floor and moving, from that point on it's just about controlling them which is easy enough to do with a good understand of crowd reading and rhythm.

And most of the time a track is popular for a reason, because it's good!

BOOM! Amazing track right here. (I wish they let you embed Grooveshark songs on this community )

Amazing track, debut'd about 4 months ago on Radio 1 by B. Traits, only had a crappy YouTube rip to go off since then but I just checked now, it came out on Beatport at the end of September.

Also you can care a lot about the DJ and still show your appreciation by dancing. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to attend one of their evening s one day but they strike me as attracting the weirdest/most boring crowd ever.
Also hipster-level of the charts
Most of the events in that room are just for chilling etc, just check more vids in that space Just my 2c, the more club-oriented sets are packed, check Boiler Room Berlin shows etc

Afaik, a lot of the boiler room crowd is invited, at least at certain events. So it's not necessarily people who want to be there
