Gidget Landsverk 22.07.2010 | Hello. First, thank you for this community
... - As my handle/screen name, NYCeyes, implies, I live in Manhattan, NYC (where I was born and raised - I'm descended from Puerto Rico). - Having lost some of my passion for designing critical compute and storage systems for large companies over the past 20 years, I decided to take up DJing as a hobby and perhaps actually make good music, something I liked as a kid, but never had money for the gear or formal music training. I'm a DSP engineer by training and ironically, while I don't use it for a living, this is all about DSP signal processing. - Though I haven't received it yet, for starters I purchased a Numark MixDeck and Coffin to get going. Now I have to find a site to download lots of music. I belong to Rhapsody unlimited, but that takes too long. - DJ Name... I'm open to suggestions if anyone wants to suggest one. "DJ NYCeyes" is what I'm considering. I also own the domain: www.NYCeyes.Com, so it flows with that. - My preference for music is good house music, but based on old school 12" disco with Italian and French influence where you found music that had many layers of instruments to it (as opposed to hollow house). Many songs today are based of those creations. Jazz too. I want thank you for this community and tutorials. I believe I will learn from the masters here - that means all of YOU. And I will definitely give my flavor back! Peace all. Peace out! |

Bess Canzano 21.07.2010 | 1. Aenigma/The Kids Issue (Tom) I produce music under the above names not done much DJing yet but thats why I'm here. 2. Leeds, UK 3. I used to produce idm/glitch/chiptune but recently im getting more and more into my deep and tech house and minimal so who knows what il be throwing out next. My influences are M83, Booka Shade, Aphex Twin, Venetian Snares....I could go on forever i believe. |
Waneta Ferdinandsen 19.07.2010 | 1. Zeke / AAAA 2. Currently in Northwest Washington, but Im moving to Pullman, WA next month. 3. Ill play anything if I like it.. but electro, tech house, and dubstep are my favorites. My biggest influences are The Glitch Mob, Designer Drugs, and Steve Aoki. All of their music has so much energy that its impossible not to dance to it, and I try to have the same intensity whenever I play. |

but have been reading through for quite some time. Big fan of DJTT as well as djing and music in general. ::::::::::::::::: 1. Whats your Dj Name/Real Name (optional): -- Not really using a DJ name as of now since I've put djing on the backburner for the past year or so... But I went by 'DJ iExist' for about 5 years as a undergound hip hop/scratch DJ.. A year ago I was part of a duo with another DJ friend and we called ourselves 'Bologna & Cheese.' From here on out, I feel I will just go by my real name, Jordan.. or JORD4N. 2. Where you are from (City/Country): -- I am from Baton Rouge, LA - which is where I am currently residing. 3. Style of music you enjoy playing: -- As I stated in question 1, I got into DJing by listening to a lot of ISP and anything with scratches in it.. as well as the underground hip hop music circa 2000 - 2007. In order to pay some bills, I transitioned into spinning more Top40 Rap, 90s Rap, Mashups and House. Now all I really play is House, Electro House and just scratch it up! ::::::::::::::::: |
Jacqulyn Shoemo 15.07.2010 | 1. Jeremy, everybody calls me J/No DJ name currently as I'm not really a DJ yet. 2. Milwaukee, WI - USA 3. I like anything that makes people move. I've only done 2 weddings for friends and I used my PA mixer and 2 laptops, but it feels great when everybody is digging on a song and you fade right into another one and people go nuts...so I can't wait until I'm actually good! |
